Why do you need so much money? Wink
That is the only question you would ask? You need to do a lot more research when it comes to ICOs since the majority of ICOs are scams meant to steal your money and research will help in identifying the legit ICOs most of the time. You need to ask a lot more questions(What kind of experience does the development team have? etc). Research helps identify quality ICOs very quickly.

What questions would you like to ask to a new ICO announcement to know if its promising or not?
Please help for beginners.  Smiley Smiley

You don't have to ask if they are promising or not, if you as an investor to ICO needs to do your own research to them before asking. Since there is an ANN from them, read the whole thing, white paper, road map and what are their future plans. And if you are done reading all of them the question will start to come out to your mind, as most of the questions out there that are constructing are basically the same. How much soft/hard cap, what exchange to be listed.

I have a question surrounding ICOS, and apology in advance if this is the incorrect board.. if so, please advise where to redirect question. Anyway, I've been reading more and more about the ICO for Overstock / tZERO, set to open this December. So far, the information I can find about it has been scarce at best. I'm trying to understand what exactly the ICO is offering. It seems that they are issuing a legitimate security, and that the tokens bought during the crowd sale will pay dividends on the tZERO exchange profits. Does anyone have any specifics, or know where I can find more information about the sale. Namely, I'm trying to understand how much the actual dividends will be. For example, they are trying to raise 500m USD for the sale. Theoretically, if I contribute all 500m, do I get "all" of the tZERO exchange dividends? Thanks in advance for the help.

There is no model for questions to be asked,  first of all,  you need to understand what the ICO is all about by spending some time to read through the white paper,  after which you ask whatever question you want based on the information provided about the ICO.
It is left for you to decide if the answers received are satisfactory or not and you also have to decide if the ICO is worth putting your funds in.

What are you going to do with money you get, how and when? These are the most important questions to be asked. Some ico creators just do nothing and keep talking about promises. You need to distinguish good & bad.

I think the first question for ICO is that What will you do to get your target? The method of the project is the most important, I think. If they have a good method, the percent of success will high.

Suggested questions would be:

1. How much will tokens sell for?
2. How many tokens will be sold during PRE-ICO or ICO?
3. What is the soft/hard cap?
4. Any information about the team or board of members?
5. Where can i find the Whitepaper for the ICO to answer most of these questions perhaps?

These are questions one my ask.

I would ask - What real world problem is your ICO solving?

Many ICOs are just a money rack up without the idea of Blockchain Real world improvement

It depends on what the campaign offers but in general it is important to ask if it already has a working product, how the are going to earn on it. You also need to check the team members coz it is the base of the project. When the project is supported by big affluent companies you have more guarantees that it is not a scam. Usually White Paper covers all necessary information, so take time to scrutinize WP and ask questions if smth unclear.

I will ask a question of legitimacy, I will ask if the ICO already has a working product, team and exoerience in their area of catchment! I will slso ask about legality of what they are doing and ask if they are complying with any known law!
How can I believe that they are showing real legal documents? I mean what's the process to verify that? Do you have any example?

i do not think so is new ICOs promise, right now.
most ico projects will be an advantage a few months and after that will be forgotten, so far I only take advantage for the short term only, when the price Token was good

Right. Short term idea is a good idea.

Ask them what their purpose is. And how they make their projects successful. Many have now come to the ICOs and it's really hard to know whether this is a scam or not. See also who their advisor is and the most you should know is who its developers are. Because of this you will know immediately whether a ICO scam or not if the developer has displayed his face to the public. Just look at it right now because sometimes they just look for another photo. It's hard to trust now especially in decentralized cryptocurrencies.

I usualy ask questions about the project and its sphere. I know that with all this ICO hype it is usually the last thing you should look at while buying tokens but I'm still looking for the projects that won't just have a successfull ICO but will also make a good quality project. Such strategy is obviously naive because I'm not paying a bit attention on the tokensale stuff.

i will ask if they will have PRE-ICO or just ICO and ask about token sales. i will ask about the value of the tokens. i will ask questions regarding the whitepaper and roadmap ofcourse. i will ask if they have a demo for that ICO, or an application for it.
i will ask about the team of that ICO and their experience on that project and if any other projects, and their background.
