you said crypto is not the best choice to store money but why are you still here ?  now you still insist to choose between btc and usd  ? but if financial crisis is also one your concern then i still didnt think that btc or crypto are the good choice to preserve your money because they are still volatile . who knows maybe your money will fluctuate and dump ? also if theres are financial crisis , i think cryptos are also going to get affected because people do also use fiat to buy btc/cryptos

OP didn't mean to say that crypto is not the best of choice to store his money, local currency (Russian ruble) is.
refer below.
I have about $1k in local currency (Russian ruble) and I strongly believe that this currency is not the best choice to store money for long periods.

OP is thinking if he will convert his local currency to secure the safety of his investment whether to BTC or USD, or maybe both.  He is confident to store half of it to bitcoin.

I suppose I will convert it to either btc or usd, I can't choose what is better... maybe I have to store money %50 in btc and %50 in usd... but I read somewhere there can be another global financial crisis soon... perhaps I could only store it as btc

If this is the case, then my sincere and friendly suggestion would be to invest in bitcoin. Now that he has this option, there is no point in thinking about USD or any other currency of any form. Nothing is as secure and beneficial as bitcoin is. USD holders invest their money into bitcoin. There are no risks with the king of crypto currencies. Still, if you have doubts, you can read about people who became millionaire with bitcoin.

Converting your local money to cryptocurrency is the best of choice. Whether if it is directly to bitcoin or any popular altcoins in the market such as ETH, XRP, or ADA. Investing it is much better to keep your money because you may make a profit out of your investment.

invest in bitcoin js good choice, but you must think about your lust too. sometime people not patient when see the price is rise. and sometime people too greed and not decide when he will cut it, so the result they lose some fund.
Very good advice and advice in my opinion and of course very large risks that will be obtained in investing with crypto and bitcoin currencies in particular and what makes investors experience failure is greed and lust in getting large profits and in my opinion in conditions like now are needed confidence and patience and investors must be smart in taking advantage of every opportunity that will be obtained in investing
I do agree, after investing in cryptocurrency, common mistakes of some investor is for being too much greedy and being impatient.
This will only lead to losing some of their funds, making an investor to make quick decisions and might become the reason to lose all of it.

Convert your money with bitcoin and top altcoin, your money will increase every day and you can earn your profit with convert to bitcoin. If you save your money keep in the bank you just getting the same amount with your saving but not the same value with how much money you save, after you convert become altcoin and bitcoin assets you can earn profit every day depend with how much bitcoin and altcoin price grow up.
Converting fiat to crypto is indeed true that can give you a profit, but it is not actually every day. You can't determine the flow of the market, and investing in crypto will not assure any individual for a guaranteed profit.

The ironic thing here would be the central banks of Russia and China have been accumulating gold over the last ten years and selling their dollar based assets.   The USA on the other hand despite being the largest holder of gold is also stepping further away from this standard by over producing new dollars far beyond GDP growth.

I'm not sure the hold of any central bank FIAT is completely sensible as it is just a promise and we have much turmoil and upset ahead in global economies but surely its better to choose the more fortunate position of the two, one owes trillions and the other owes much store of gold as a deliberate policy over the last decade.   The debt value is going to be defaulted on most likely, where as a build up of gold asset to that central bank would suggest they intend to honour obligations.

I have about $1k in local currency (Russian ruble) and I strongly believe that this currency is not the best choice to store money for long periods.

As you might know, there was a Crimea occupation done by Russians about 5 years ago. This was followed by sanctions USA and EU put onto Russia. After that ruble devaluation started. It actually could be stopped by now, at least hindered, as some serious people say, but the Bank of Russia(local fed) doesn't do anything. Though it must and has all resources to.

I suppose I will convert it to either btc or usd, I can't choose what is better... maybe I have to store money %50 in btc and %50 in usd... but I read somewhere there can be another global financial crisis soon... perhaps I could only store it as btc, I know there is a lot of people in Nigeria buying btc because its currency is hyperinflated and majority of population there don't have bank accounts. Well, the policy of Bank of Russia can also lead to unbanked population due to the fact there are lots of banks blocking all "suspicious" transactions without even explaining why it is so "suspicious". Oh and you also should tell where did you get this money and where they go to, otherwise we close your bank account, dear terrorist-money-laundering scum client.

I have reasons to believe Russia will finally turn to its African sibling in several years.

I know this is opinion-related topic and I shouldn't consider your answer as financial advice. Anyway I'd like to see what you think about it and what you would do. Even better, you could reason why you think this way.

if I suggest it's better to save your money into bitcoin because bitcoin is a good store of value and in the future the price will be more expensive. but bitcoin also has risks because of its volatility. but I don't think that's a problem because with this volatility we can buy cheap and sell when prices are high. we just need to be patient and not easily panic when the price of bitcoin goes down.

thats human nature, they want to earn money as much as possible they can.greedy also be traders nature, they thinking could gain alot of profits only in near  time.holding their asset when profits although its profits already alot be their habbit..good investment not on bitcoin only,if we have much money we could split it into investment with high risk, medium risk and low risk.dont ever put it on one place only.

First of all, you must understand that no matter what happens to your money after you invest somewhere it is your responsibility.
It is you who will be the culprit of the fact that you will lose or increase your capital.

As a rule, people like to blame others for their losses. When choosing assets for investment, first of all, pay attention to the cryptocurrency market and the stock market.
Fiat currencies are now in rather unstable condition, perhaps only the dollar and the euro can be attractive today.

It will not be superfluous to keep part of the free money in these currencies in view of the fact that they are the offspring of the dominant financial world systems.
Bitcoin can be a good place to invest, but you must understand how the market works and that it can take a long time to wait for some significant growth.

Gold can be option, because Gold's price is tend to always increased. But to make investment in gold it is better to use very high capital. Because time to wait will worth if we can get high profit from it. If medium investment, still bitcoin is best. Although risk is almost same with profit, bitcoin still be best option in digital investment so far.

Gold holds value pretty well but how will you buy anything with it? It's great if you're planning to hold for a long time but if it's your money for emergencies it's best kept ins something that can be traded fast.
Gold also can be seized unlike cryptocurrencies. There was a story about someone losing gold on the border. You might want to travel to the EU one day when it gets worse in Russia and then they'll steal your gold on the border or tell you to pay tax right there or you'll be denied entry. I'd buy at least some bitcoins but 1k USD is not a lot to play with.

Upon reviewing post history of OP, I think he/she is now determined to invest money on Bitcoin based on OP's previous thread about Buying $150 worth Bitcoin every week and currently looking for a long term partnership. Therefore I think OP might have the idea about the risk and reward in Bitcoin investment so the only advise I could give is don't let FUD's affect his/her belief about Bitcoin, have some patience, hold and trust the process.
I hope that the OP has the firm decision now, and it is clear now to him that bitcoin price to go to the moon is uncertain. He will need a lot of patience because long term investment in bitcoin is too risky and a lot of dumps wi be happen , but we all know that bitcoin will soon go to the moon in its ATH price again.

If I were OP, I would definitely invest it in Bitcoin while holding for more than a year since Bitcoin will definitely gonna get expensive in no time. Investing your money in Bitcoin will help you in the future if there is a financial crisis happening in your country. And as long as there is blockchain technology and Bitcoin existing, your money is safe in the future.

I will not dictate you where you are going to choose to invest your money but IF I were in your place I will choose Bitcoin as an investment. But first, you will know how risky it is because of its characteristics to have a very high fluctuations and they called it volatility. So, therefore, when there is a massive dropping of the price it has also an opposite reaction that might possible surge back in the market and in that way you can earn in bitcoin investment but no one knows when it will happen. Bitcoin is very risky but it has good potential among a real state like valuable metals.

I would definitely hold it in either bitcoin or gold. That is what I see bitcoin as, a collateral against the world economy, the moment economy goes south there is absolutely no way to recover from that unless you are out of it totally and bitcoin/gold is out of it. You can definitely find other stuff but if you are in foreign currencies, forex, stocks, cash, savings account and whatever else you can think of there is really no way to make it back, hence I would always stay out of it and will always try to stay out of it as much as I can.

There is really no purpose on staying in the finance world except spending it, sure you can have a bit spending cash, fiat works wonders when you need to buy stuff but if we are talking about money that you put aside and don't touch, fiat makes the least sense.

If you're doubting about your own currency, then it's fine to choose BTC over it. We all know the advantage of investing in crypto both long term and short term. If you would want to divide your money into two investments then it's for you to decide. Just be sure to choose where you could gain a better profit. It's just important that you'll know how to keep and store your funds.
the right choice and good advice in choosing how to invest with cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency is the currency that will be used in investments using crypto and bitcoin currencies maybe hopefully the right choice makes us get a profit for long-term investment

if interested in crypto investments, I think bitcoin is indeed the best place to exchange your money. it's just that it will be a pretty risky investment because we know that bitcoin education is very fast and irregular. however, if it is a very valuable asset, I would recommend to invest in physical things such as gold, houses, or other things that you can feel are beneficial.
