It takes cryptographic hashing power to create a bitcoin address. Not many people have this, but if you do, you can profit if this by making addresses for others. They're called "Vanity addresses".

It seems the BTC addresses are unending and you generate 200 addresses per year. Is there anyway to profit from that? Anything at all?

If you happen to get lucky and find a rare bitcoin address such as one that starts with a long word or a long number then you could potentially sell it. However this would be very hard as you would know the private key so would have access to the wallet. You would have to convince someone that you wouldn't steal their bitcoins. So overall, no you can't profit from it, you could however end up with a really rare Bitcoin address.
people would definitely NOT buying these things because you know the privkey been revealed to more than 1 persons so the money on the specific address could be stolen anytimes, people would prefer generating by themselves than buying,it's more secure

That's not quite true. Only here in the service forum there is a post from someone selling vanity bitcion addresses and it seems she has buyer and lots of them. You can find her post here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-vanity-addresses-1257817

Whats the meaning to sell a bitcoin address when you are not safe to use a bought address because someone else can spend your money. The best way is to generate yourself the address and use only you.
No, someone cannot spend your money.
For instance, let's take an example of bitaddress.org, You can't actually generate the desired vanity address until you have both the partial-private keys. You merge them and then you get a new private key which carries the address of your choice. The third party never has access to your partial-private key, so he never has access to your vanity address private key.

This is before you own that address because until then nobody is using that address, but vanity address are only used to have a custom prefix <10 characters which is not hard for someone else to generate. I think that OP is talking about sharing the private key with someone else which is a worse idea.

You can make your own addresses with btc generator that's the good point.
But if you have multiple address on one wallet , you can split your needs into different address , like one address for faucet . And the others for escrow / receiving payment.

There is no profit in making many or multiple bitcoin addresses.

But the special thing that the multiple wallets can do is it increases protection of my bitcoins from hacker. Multiple wallets means that I have multiple savings in different wallet so that if one is hacked their are others that I can use.

Yes, there is a way. You can create interesting Bitcoin address like this: 1111111111111111111114oLvT2 and sell it to people Smiley

That is a burn address, what would a person do with the address if they can't access any BTC in it?

That sure is a brun address(with hash all 0's) but what I actually meant was interesting address that has something unique like 1QBDLYTDFHHZAABYSKGKPWKLSXZWCCJQBX which has all caps or something similar.

You Don't Earn a Single Satoshi By Generating Addresses Because if it is Possible then Everyone Can Make Money the Easy way. At last My Answer is No you don't Earn any money with it....
I disagree. There are actually some people earning bitcoins from generating address. Just look at bitcoinvanitygen.com They do profit from generating addresses, by spending some hash power to generate a bitcoin address with preferred prefix although only at a certain condition.
When you're quoting a site that has already scammed many users, don't use "https://" if you wouldn't like to give it more traffic. If you didn't know about the scam incidents, just google it

Well if you own a company and hosts multiple wallets as one of your features in your site. For example a gambling site has multiple wallets for you to deposit your balance, if you lost on your game then they profit.

Wallet addresses cannot give you profit directly but it plays a significant role in profit making. Without it you cannot profit in the virtual world.

Most likely if you 're lucky and find a bitcoin address measures such as the one that starts with the word length
or the number of time then you could potentially be sold . but it will be very difficult because you also learn personal key / password so that you
can access to the wallet . if you want to sell , you have to convince someone that you're not going to steal Bitcoins them .

With the bitcoin address more things have changed in day to day transaction, as well due to the gradually increasing acceptance bitcoin addresses help in donations to illegal purchase.

You might not be able to generate revenue from your addresses but there are other things you can do with it, for example keeping a message in the blockchain.

For example, I can generate the following addresses and send fund from one to another to link them up:

1youxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
1lovexxxxxxxxxxxxx
1ixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The last one will be where the fund is. If you track back the flow of bitcoin, you will get the message "i love you".... I guess this is might be meaningless to most but could be cool for some... Just be creative!

With a really rare bitcoin address you can be given a special space in bitcoin address hall of fame which lays somewhere in this forum. Maybe they will give you a reward for that, a beer or something.

Something that might be cool, is if someone could generate unique addresses somehow, and not know what the private key is... They press a button and it shows them the Bitcoin address and not the

private key. The private key will only be revealed to the person who buys the unique Bitcoin address. You pay the person who is generating these unique addresses, for their time. Something like this

needs human interaction to spot the unique addresses. { I am not talking about Vanity addresses } ... It would be better than solving Capthas every day on faucets and would provide genuine income

for people without jobs. { micro tasks }  Grin

i don't really think that you can earn from addresses, like someone said you could get money only if someone would send bitcoins to your wallet by mistake

Actually you can, there is service called vanity pool where people pay for vanity addresses and anybody can find the address and get paid. It uses the split key method and thus is completly safe to use such vanity address. You can download and run oclvanitygen and start finding vanity addresses others request and get paid if you find the address.

Just for comparsion, your computer CPU can search through about million Bitcoin addresses per second, GPUs few millions Bitcoin addresses per second. But to find longer vanity address (6 and more characters), you need to check a lot of random Bitcoin addresses to find match to your defined starting vanity address, and it might take a lot of time (days, months)

I don't know anything special to do with a lot of BTC addresses.
But what I use is the Blockchain's API to generate different addresses that points to my main wallet.
That way I can give a unique address for each of my clients.
There is a lot of possible applications of this feature.

You can generate long Vanity Bitcoin addresses that often require some larger amount of computing power. I don't know how the application is now, or if an optimized way to generate them exists yet, but if you are aware of people who require auto generated vanity bitcoin addresses that are longer in length and if you have the computing power, you could ask them to pay for you to generate them.

I have seen that services in Digital Section before and I wonder how they come up with that "vanity" bitcoin address. As another has pointed out, how can you sell that address if you know the private keys or, how you can convince the buyer?

Taken from https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/custom-btc-address-service-0001-btcaddress-1475858:

Angells Custom BTC address service!

1. Go to https://www.bitaddress.org and move the mouse around to get to 100% (you will se why).
2. Click "Vanity Wallet".
3. Then in "Step 1" on that page click "Generate".
4. Copy-paste the "Step 1 Public Key" and post it here with your preferred BTC prefix (example 1Ange11...).
5. Save the "Step 1 Private Key" to a safe place.
6. When I do my job you get the "Pool Part Private Key" which you paste with your "Step 1 Private Key" on that same page in "Step 2", and it will show you your custom address.
7. We can use escrow for payment if you request.

NOTICE: This is SAFE beacuse I don't know your "Step 1 Private Key". I have a good computer and free electricity so I will do this for fair fees for everyone, the first 5 have a free deal only if it is simple, max. five to six signs.

Now you know Smiley
