it dependent on token or altcoin you have invested ,check their roadmap completion as well as their community support, volume check also help and which exchanges they are on.for potential token, always hold as for right now price may not be high but it comes with guarantee that team will buy back it.

I think there is a reason why you bought these coins, and of course its because you trust that these coins will bring you profit. Now if their thread is down, I think its better for you to hold for a while and observe the thread, if the down thread is continuous for a long time then maybe its time for you to sell or trade your coins but if its rising and falling continuously, then I think holding would be my option.

you can't really predict the market.. falling prices is a natural process of all markets and you have unfortunately to ride the wave
it will come back up eventually
Some believing in the rumor and that can be a good sign to predict the future of the market. I mean like some people are believing with the fact that chinese will try to anounce about the banned of the ico.
And for some reason not all of the price falls can be determined as the natural process.
I believe in holding for bitcoins for the time being till the dump period is finished. Then start of trading it again when the prices are at peak in the market. Most of the traders do the uses the same strategy to get huge profits and benefits from the bitcoins.

There is no golden rule for when this happens.
These are the variables to be taken into consideration:

- Why is it falling?
- Which(s) coin is/are falling?
- You perform daily trading or you a hodler?
- How much are you willing to risk.

But in general terms, if you trust the coin, then take advantage of this situation and buy as many coins as you can.

When the prices is falling, there are only two things I do, first hold it for sell it when the prices goes up and the second is cut loss to buy again in the low price. Why not buy altcoin while waiting for prices rise and choose a cut loss ? Because I've lost a lot of money when i played altcoin, so I decided not to play altcoin anymore

Gather many informations about why the price of bitcoin are falling like that and if that news cause a big impact and makes bitcoin will fall more, just sell all your bitcoins directly before the price fall again. After that, just wait until everything calm down and start buying bitcoin again before the price start increase. I always do this though and it works.
I think this is better approach toward success of business in bitcoins. You have to wait and watch the price charts carefully accompanied with the events behind every rise and fall. Whenever it is fall, find out the event and if that event may have some affects in near future, just sell bitcoin.

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

the best thing to do when the prices are falling is to buy as many possible in that way you can save and at the same time you can earn more profit if that price of your chosen coin will pump in the future. buy low sell high is the best and most effective trading strategy if you want to learn how to trade effectively.
sometime price can fall more. so we should carefully when make a buy order. check news why price fall. talk with other trader to have idea about floor price.

Check for a pattern that will lead the crypto for a breakout like inverse head n shoulders etc (you can only predict not actually know what will happen.

It depends though on which coin you're dealig with. Some are pretty easy to anticipate especially more established coins. When prices begin to fall, be on the guard for the best time to buy. For coins that haven't proven that much yet, it's a risk. I'd suggest to sell before it goes below your buy point

When the prices are falling the smile on my face is showing because i can buy coins at a lower cost it is indeed an advantage. I do calm on my current investments and i do not panic because panic can only cause stress to each and everyone of us it can harm our health. Thats why i do not invest in only one coin so that i would not feel my losses that much.

I too am happy when the price falls, because I can buy coins at a cheap price and get even more profits. To avoid losses, it is really very good to invest in different coins.

Don't buy too early as the price start falling. See the chart and observe them. as the price started to go up again, then buy them. If you are able to predict the point where it would just go up, that would be great.
In fact you may experience loss when you buy high and sell low. Professional traders advise to buy bitcoins during the dump period i.e. when their prices are very low in the market and sell high during the pump period i.e. when their prices are very high in the market.

It would be hard to predict the bottom of a dip. The better move is to buy small amounts as it dips toward the bottom. This lowers your average cost in buying your coins without risking missing the bottom price.

Just HODL, buy more when you can, sell when it is going up (only if needed)
You just have to hold yourself from getting panic and making irregular decision in order to avoid loss and wait for the right time to start trading your bitcoins or sell your projects, designs and products online for bitcoins. Holding and patience both keeps you intact to make better decisions for making more profit.
Agree with you. Trading is a difficult fundamental thing.

What you fear is what all investors and traders fear, they buy at a very high price and now it's at a low price they are worried about their investment. Don't worry it too all will come back and the crypto market will be a blue again.
Yeah , this is a simple thing in the trading , many people here in this field are facing this thing but those are only successful herr who never afraid of down in the price of or stability in the price for long run Because the main thing which is truth for 99% case is that market for that coin in which you made investment , will come back with a big pump surely . So patience is a big thing in this factor to get success in trading .
And no matters that from how long you are in this field , matters is the patience and at what time you bought ( bought at high or low ) Because if you will buy at high price then how you can expect that its price will increase more and more again , as a universal after increase the price goes down .

My only suggestion for you when prices are falling is HOLD. Some people have weak hands, they panic and sold their coins  after it. Trading is very risky so you have to be patient and have strong hands. Read some news about your coins or what your coin can do in the future so you can decide if you hold that coin for long term.

There is nothing that we need to do or to remember when the prices are falling. Because we only need to keep ourselves calm and don't try to take a look at the price of bitcoin so that you won't be tempted to sell some of your bitcoins. And if that happens you'll be forced to sell your bitcoins, so stay calm, hold and don't look at the charts these are the things that you need to remember when the price is falling.

If the price is our coins is falling, we will only to do is to hold our coins. We don't need to panic if our coins is going down because I am sure that is normal and it will rise up again.
