Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

I just wait for the price to go back up and back expensive, I believe the price will be more expensive, a coin that has a total supply of each, I often monitor the price and total turnover supply at https://coinmarketcap.com/ from there I get a profit which is very much due to its very accurate info.

To reduce losses because the price falls that cause any bad news of the coin, for the better cut loss and buy again at cheaper price, it is difficult to do it by trader in psychologically because it will predict the price will come back again but cut loss will greatly help reduce the loss if the price falls far from the purchase price and will make up the profit faster than just hold

If a particular coin you have invested price is falling you need to find out why the price is falling if the case is about bitcoin price having a bearish period then it's worth to wait or buy more because after that price will increase again when it entered the bull period.

What I usually do if prices are falling most specially if the coins are very low, I would buy more coins from a much lower price and your total amount of couns would then be divided; the result would be lesser losses. Read or research on google about books or ebooks on trading.
Buy , if the price of bitcoin falls and you have an extra money you shiukd consider to buy because there is high possibility for Bitcoin to rise at the end. If you want to earn mire you can also take advantage in the changes of Bitcoin in terms of the development and the innovation of bitcoin.

You have although said quite few words but you have given the best advice. I will agree to what all you have said. I think the best way to cash those moments is by buying as many Bitcoins as you can at the time when prices are falling down. This will be the decision which you’ll be satisfied with the most in the future.
oh yeah,
this is good for us to buy when the prices are pretty low. but the really good thing is that when you sell your bitcoin when you feel that price is pretty much high, and then again buy bitcoin when price become goes down, and in this way just enjoy your profit.

Exactly. Never panic. Think for the long term because it will be beneficial if you can take advantage of any drops to add bitcoins at a much lower price. More profit for the future

I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.

There are 2 clear directions when the prices are falling.
1. Sell.
a. If you are not a day trader and did panic sell, you better leave this since it's not for you. Cryptos fluctuate a lot and your health is more important than some extra bucks.
b. If you are a day trader (wannabe) then you had your eyes on it and sold quick minimizing the loss; and you obviously buy back when it start rising again. Be very careful with this because you can easily end up selling cheap and buying when it's expensive.

2. Hodl.
If you trust the crypto you bought, then you trust it will have more success, you trust it'll grow even more. The hold it until it make you rich (or you believe it reached the maximum success it could). Even buy more if you afford (but never invest more than you afford to lose).

If you are aiming to earn more and to have a bugger profit in the future I suggest to consider ti follow the basic way trading which is to buy low and to sell high. Becasue if you would sell your Bitcoin when it's price dump you cod rather loss than to earn. Just consider to sell when you have a fund to buy altcoin or bitcoin or you may consider to just had ti around unnecessary decision you co take.

just check some trade group and see people say about that then if they say hold we sell. they say sell we hold  Grin
I believe that you should act upon the advice of the experts. There are very less chances that their predictions result in loss. I must suggest you to remain cool and calm at the time when prices are falling down. Holding the Bitcoin at that time is most preferable thing to do instead of just getting panic and selling them at lower rates.
What you say is true. Panic sell will only bring a trader to a loss. I experienced it several times. Better to back up losses than to panic sell.
ya. if you only lose when you sell. we can use some strategy to protect our fund
I don’t think so you can lose only when you sell. Basically time maters a lot at which you are selling off your coins. If they are in pumping stage and you are selling them, surely you are going to earn handsome profit but if they are going through bad time and you under emotional stress obviously you are going to lose.

Whatever altcoin it is no matter what happened you must hold your coins as long as your coins is continuously in progress and the developer is still active to their community, but if not active anymore well I guess that's for you to sell even you get loss already.
It occurs to me now, my altcoin is fall so much, I have no other choice
except just to hold it for long time, I hope the price could rise again.

its happen to me and i think its happen to the other people too. but we should not panic and selling now because the price will be increase soon and i still waiting the moment is come. if we still have balance then we can bought it again while the price is cheap and we add another amount into each coins so when the price is up, we can sell and make big profit.

This is common in altcoins trading, actually this time all altcoins came down to the earth. Maybe it takes some time to go for a normal price. Don't get panic it will recover. If you buy bitcoins means it will recover very soon, but you are holding altcoins so don't know when those coins will take charge. Let's wait and see but don't sell for a loss.

As far as bitcoin is concerned, you could just hold it and don't get panic and sell.If we see the previous price history of bitcoin, after every dip,it has increased and gets settled in a price higher than its previous high price. So,don't become weaker hand by selling your bitcoins.Just hold.Regarding altcoins, since it is mostly pumped and dumped, you just wait until it is pumped again and sell it.

Yes I agree with all your suggestions. Determine first your purpose in why did you invest in bitcoin. Is it for short term or long term? If it is for short term then maybe you can sell your bitcoin and then buy when it dips and if it is for long term then you can just hold it. If you consider yourself an expert trader and somehow have a speculation where the price of bitcoin will go then you can trade even if it falls by shorting. Cryptocurrency is so volatile as there are no regulations that control it so many whales take advantage of this opportunity so in order for you not to loss more especially if you are a newbie is just to hold because bitcoin will eventually go back and much higher this time.

It is sad to know that there are people who are at loss now due to the fall that happened. But brace yourself, it will be a long ride and that is just a start of it.
Many will try to break bitcoin down but it always go back up.
You may want to hold for now and just be patient.
Panic will just make you regret your decision. Just ignore the pricing for now and just keep on getting more bitcoin.
Those people are mostly afraid to lose much money in bitcoins and they just listen to Fake news. What is good to do is to hold and forget the market in this day if you can't avoid to panic sell. Buying more bitcoins in this situation will make you more money when all the news is going up and positive.

The price for now is unstable and its one of the best time to buy if we have left capital in our pocket since we could go buy some bitcoins and sell whenever we see some good pump happening on it, But same as you for now I will just check the price of bitcoins from time to time by watching the status on it from the coinmarketcap.
