When prices are falling its a best point to purchase bitcoins.  Meanwhile do market survey of bitcoin.  Patience are very important in this journey because it may takes time to rise the bitcoin price.  Many times immediate fluctuations may observed.  The time when you observe continue rising in price at the same time you may sale it and you will het maximum profit.  And if you observe for longer time that prices are same then dnt get disappointed.  Keep patience.  And wait for right time.  Definitely it wil increase.
Take the fall as an opportunity to buy more and to introduce it to friends so the can be able to purchase some, qe all know that it can rise soon ,so why bother too much. Hold onto it and know soon it will be a worthwhile.
- Well, of course this is a very good opportunity to buy more bitcoin, we will make a lot of profit when the price of bitcoin is pumped back. With myself, if I do not have the money to buy more bitcoin, I would turn off the computer, go to sleep or dating with friends, I just look at the price of bitcoin once a day, spending too much time observing the price of bitcoin will make us very frightened when we see the price of bitcoin continuously decrease. We should believe in Bitcoin, believe in our investment choices

It is a common strategy to hold the bitcoins and sell the altcoins when the price is falling down, but there are two side of this story. If you are a short time trader (like day trader) then it will be better for you to sell the bitcoin too if it seems that the price is falling down, but if you don't need to trade on daily basis or on short term then hold them and wait for the price to rise again after the dip.
of course there are two very different conditions that we can do. holding or selling as quickly as possible. it all depends on the circumstances we experience. if i have a lot of bitcoin then i will try to do holding, but when i see that bitcoin price will decrease significantly then i will try to sell bitcoin as soon as possible.

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

for me bro just hold or buy support on the dip so could gain some more profit if it goes up thats why in my porfolio im always saving some btc for the this kind of market.
sounds good, doesn't work. we don't really know when exactly is the right time to buy nor to sell so your advice is rather useless and unrealistic, frankly. people could just do buy and sell based on the current floating rumours and news. they could make their own profit out of it and it's really worth the time. not that "buy in the dip" nonsense advice.

I think many people will sell panic when prices fall but there will definitely be many people holding altcoin and not sell at that time as surely the whale will collect all the cheap altcoin and will pump when the market stabilizes.

Just don't sell your bitcoins at low price, don't panic because if you panic you will lose your investment. If the price is low buy again some bitcoin and wait for it to rise again. I experienced this before when the price is falling down instead i gain a profit. I loss some of my investment because i sell at low price.
Dont have enough knowledge on bitcoin that is a problem when they panicking of tha price and sell it in the lower price it is a wrong move. And may it become a lesson when you sell it in a lower price off course you can lost your profit.

If the price goes down, just wait and do not do anything. Holding is very effective way to earn more money. Hold your coins until the price of it goes so high and that is the right time to sell it.
The mistakes are often made by traders is that they panicked when the price is down
so they chose to cutloss rather than Hold. I suggest if the price is down, keep calm and don't be panic.

I think panic selling is only just for beginners ans us we should be used to this ups and downs. Like we've seen and experience these and there's nothing new how the market always behave. When the price crashes it's time to buy coins that you eye, the coins is on sale so better to grab it or you'll miss the chance. And when you won't buy just hodl it, don't sell or you regret it with your life.
Yes, your right sir.. Just like I'm not that so confident yet when doing trade in the exchange market. However, I'm still keep going on learning  in trading because I really wanted to be a good trader in the near future.

The best way to do is just have a lot of patience if the price of the coins that we are holding are going down. Dumping is normal in all cryptocurrency world and I know by waiting many months or even years we can have a lot of profit.

Firstly , if you have been watching BTC from 2015 , then you should know when was the perfect time to buy btc. And you ended up buying when the price of btc was $4600  .
Now if you go to convert it into ALTs then you will face a 100% loss. Better is to HODL (HOLD) now as surely the prices of Bitcoin will rise. I don't exactly know the reason for the fall in price but I have heard something about Chinese being the reason for it .

Hodling is an option I have seen that has proven to be the best one so far because Bitcoin rewards those who can wait. Just think about the people who sold after it fell down from 1k to 250 in 2014, they must be thinking over their decision for over 1000s of times now. Even alts work the same way, and if you feel you can't wait then selling your alts will be of no harm but regretting in the future if they get pumped up back is not an option because if Bitcoin goes higher in its value, you are actually getting what you have invested in alts (in terms of fiat) which is an advantage that you get. So why to sell them and not wait a bit more longer to get better rates through alts too?

what i do if price is falling? maybe im gonna buy more bitcoin because i believe that someday or other months  that is pump again and maybe it can double.
What I will prefer while prices are falling is to
Either invests more on that crypto currency which I expect to be rising in future.
Wait for the best time to sale my holdings i.e. when price reach enough value where I have no loss at all.

to me if you are a long term investor then you need to hold your bitcoin and wait, because in long term i am sure that bitcoin will give you a go profit. i am sure that bitcoin will continue increasing for a long time and therefore long term investment will be a good idea. to me i personally have invested a good amount of money in bitcoin for long term and i do not care for the temporary downfall of bitcoin price.

There are two best things that one could do when the price of coins are falling.
1. Buy more coins to make good profit when the price recovers
2. Hold the coins so that you don't suffer from any losses
We should not panic in these king of situations. We must know that trades go like waves. It keeps on increasing and decreasing.
If we don't have any money to buy more coins then the best option would be to hold the coins as they say never sell at a loss.

I have to agree with this and I am already doing it.
Before I use to panic and sell because of fear that it will go down a lot more.
When you got a lot of money invested it is easy to see how much you are losing.
One more trick would be not looking at the price, specially with bitcoin. Just letting it be would be a great idea.

Right, I agree with what @pawanjain said and just like @Reid I also used to panic in every trade I made. I have also experienced panic selling in a certain coin, that was the time when fork news was hot. The bitcoin as well as the altcoin have decreased and is continuously going down. I was trying to sell a certain coin that time and when the price really goes down I panic and decided to sell even at low price.
When we are a newbie in any world, we do make mistakes and get panic often but mistakes are proof that we are at least trying. If we won't make any of them, there is no way that we can increase our knowledge and wisdom. Trading is no different case. Most of us, I think all of us have faced this phase at least once in a life.

Don't turn off your computer, as some people ask to do. The first thing to do is to identify the causes of the crash, check if the sources are reliable, and evaluate the possibility that the price may continue to fall.
If the odds are high, it may be better to sell. Otherwise, be patient and wait for a price rebound.
I like your idea because this will make us make the correct decision before selling or buying and this is not widely applied in exchange because they tend to wait for the next pumping or sell immediately.

When price of coins are coming down what you need do is to remain ted fast and hold till when the price pick up again. This is because you may end up selling at a lost if you eventually sell.

The prices are dependent upon current market situation. Though the dip is occurring but you should be holding because we all know price comes back again in the time. This is what makes me invest more when the dip is occurring because it's best strategy to follow like that and earn more bucks than any other way you find. So the answer to this question is yes you should hold them and for long period of time unless you think it's good profit for you.
