You have a point, but for me bitcoin can be destroyed when its medium, the Internet and the gadgets that we have used to access bitcoin is being lost or destroyed so that it its medium is not working then we cant use bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not fully independent and some fake news can affect the price directly and that's why sometimes we see some price drops and even price crashes, because of the fake news, fake people (or calling fake experts) which predict the price without basing on any fact or any other source and make panic to people to sell or buy and so the price gets increased up to 20k or more or goes to the bottom of 7-8k which we are seeing nowadays.
I think even government and media cannot destroy bitcoin, the only thing that can totally destroy bitcoin is when there is no internet.
I agree with you, I do not understand with the government who wants to take power also in this bitcoin, they make their own regulation without considering bitcoin users whether or not to agree with the regulations that are made. I think this benefits the government and harms the user, this could be destroying bitcoin because many users are out of bitcoin.

2. by competition for attention by other cryptocurrencies.

There are many ways to destroy bitcoin. If you don't use bitcoin then it's price will drop and it can destroy .If you have less knowledge of it and you don't interested to mine it or you have not any powerful hardware computer to mine it then it can destroy. More than all , lgovernment is the biggest enemy for this. Because it can't support bitcoin . On the other side media reports effects badly.
Bitcoin is hottest selling ice cream. Prices of bitcoin are going down from last couple of days and people assumed that bitcoin will come to an end soon which is totally baseless and due to lack of understanding of bitcoin. It is the human mind with negative thinking which will destroy Bitcoin and some mind are of paid media which are promoting such news for running their channel. So kindly don't read such article if you believe bitcoin truly. Also stop reaction for such negative minds which are here to spread negativity without any base and reason.
for me the reason to destroy bitcoin is the time that no one will trust and believe on bitcoin. but this things in never be happen because we all known that bitcoin is the center of attraction of all crypto and too many people invest and believe on what bitcoin will do to their life.
Nothing really! It is based on math algorithms and math algorithms never fail.

I think the only enemy that bitcoin has is the government and the only thing that can destroy it. It's not really hard to bring bitcoin down because the problems are already present like drugs and scams.
The government and the big banks will try to crushed the bitcoins because it is a big threat to them. They will used the media to influence the people to fear the bitcoin investment but they can't kill it. Even the emergence of the new cryptocurrencies that will compete the demand of bitcoin, but it can't bring the bitcoin down. The only thing that could destroy the bitcoin is, if all sources of electricity and internet were shut down across the planet, all the computers will be broken, worst case scenario, then it will die.

I think the only thing that could destroy Bitcoin is the investors and miners. If they're turning their back with Bitcoin , it's really hard for Bitcoin to survive.
