Maybe the fear of losing there money. The unpredictable fluctuations and the negative reviews and comments by bitcoin detractors. I wish that people will validate and make sure to learn nore about bitcoin prior avoiding it.

FUD IE Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt will be a big factor. A lot of people I encounter fear bitcoin because they don't understand it properly, but also because they believe all the FUD they hear about it that it's a scam or when it's in the media these days it's usually for something negative like losing value or someone has been arrested or somebody has scammed someone with bitcoin etc. These all contribute to the negative image bitcoin has and scares a lot of the skeptical users away.
As I see many people around me, they have not really figured out what bitcoin is. They just think bitcoin is a virtual thing and has no real value. They are afraid of being scam into paying for a bitcoin, something that can not be held or held in their hands.

there is a lot of use with bitcoin, you can transfer money in a minute easily, you can buy online without credit cards and you can buy a prepaid load to your mobile. its not all about investments. The inability to grab the scope of bitcoin and its usefulness particularly in developing or third world countries is another reasons that kept people from those part of the world from using it how do you explain bitcoin to farmers, fishermen, market women? Low level of education and orientation will hinders there accepting bitcoin maybe the upcoming generations having been tutored will buy the idea of course its going take more time.
there are many reasons people use bitcoin, from the experience I got while I was using bitcoin, some used bitcoin to get profit, some used bitcoin as a hobby. But for myself bitcoin I use as a place to earn money for my daily living expenses.
