It can be banned, but it can't be stopped.
Right, because we are the only one that can stop bitcoin and that if we will stop supporting it.
Never underestimate the government, they can do anything that they want so beware of them. They can easily ban the Bitcoin if they want to but they don't because banning can cause many negative effects which turn out to against them. However, if they find that Bitcoin is too annoying, laws will be promulgated in order to stop people from using Bitcoin. Look at Thailand and you will know how strong the Government is

I agree, bitcoin can not be stopped by the government unless if ever we pulled out all our coins and converted it eventually into fiat or the bitcoin network has totally stopped then that would be the end of bitcoin .

Cryptocurrencies that offer better anonymity than bitcoin would become more attractive.
There is zcash, monero and dash coin offering far better anonimity than bitcoin already but they are struggling.
To even survive in cryptocurrency world , bitcoin is hard to be replaced even it get banned.
People feel comfort to use bitcoin not just because the name, but the ecosystems that have been built so far.

What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?
the use of bitcoin is not against the goverment so i think it will never happen

Well I should tell you that this banning thing has already happened in some countries and some other intend to do the same thing in the near future. And bitcoin itself and how bitcoin works are against how banks are operated and so it's thought to be the thread for the governments. Because they don't seem to like it when bitcoin takes over and they can't control it, bitcoin is not all governments' favorite.

That would be the real death to bitcoin in the case if it would be banned by governments. But i think that would be not wise step to them to manage so. more wisw would be to put tax on bitcoin operations. that would bring more money to the governments and to pockets of those people who are working in that. I doubt that they are ready to skip such a good chance to make even more money to themselves.

… you shouldn't be worried since you're not doing anything illegal. …

Oh oh! Why am I worried, even though I am not doing anything illegal?

"Arguing that you don’t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say."

And now for the $1 question: Who said that? Perhaps somebody who caught somebody else in blatantly breaking the constitution? Of course, catching someone in breaking the constitution is illegal, right?

It depends on what you do with your bitcoins. If you simply buy/sell stuff like a normal and law-abiding citizen, then you shouldn't be worried since you're not doing anything illegal. Most illegal trades are being done using bitcoins because it's anonymous (pseudonymous to some).

But in the long run once a huge percentage of the total population is using bitcoins, the government would surely notice bitcoins and do crazy things to avoid making their fiat become valueless. They can add another law and prohibit the use of unregulated currency like bitcoin.

If bitcoin is banned then the chance to get adopted by many countries will not exist because banning bitcoin will result for having bad reputation to others and development for bitcoin will be hard because for sure the authorities will arrest people who try to help in improving bitcoin since they didn't obey the law.
Well, it proves that with specify a bitcoin, will be very much the crisis. as we know that 20% of the world population, have made their main income from bitcoin, even very many who develop it by creating businesses that accept bitcoin. it may be bad for the country where people are bitcoin hunters like china and india.
How do you know that 20% of the world population have mad their income from bitcoin? even none of statistics from surveys nowadays could prove the exact amount of bitcoin users nor people who made their income from bitcoin. I assume that's kind of unreliable and unreasonable data then. And if country like china where majority miners come from just release a regulation about banning bitcoin then those miners just simply moving out to other profitable cryptocurrencies.

And if it does happen, revolution may be happen. The people who support Bitcoin will against the Government and the result will be very very bad. I do not like war at all and I hope this will not happen. The number of people who use Bitcoin is very high so i think the Government will have to figure out the way which can solve the Bitcoin problem instead of banning it
Very high? The highest we might be right now is 1 million in population. I don't think a revolution has happened with just that much population. We're less than 0.1% of the population. The government might not even listen to us and just think that we're whining. Most bitcoin users will just carry on in their business even without bitcoins. They'll do a different business instead. Good bitcoin users have already anticipated all these events and they already have a back up plan for these happenings.

I can't envisage bitcoin being banned. Not in the near future and not later. But if we are to assume it happens, then that will make a lot of bitcoiners law breakers and hence criminals.
I couldn't see it being banned in many of the bigger countries, not sure about Russia yet but i think they are starting to come around to it.

Nobody can stop it anyway but they can make it hard for us to operate.

BTC will never be banned because when the time it is banned bitcoiners are aeger to find other way to continue what they've started to do.
I agree, even bitcoin is banned in some countries but the users still can use it. Government can not do anything. Bitcoin help so many people so why its have to be banned? All people have to accept bitcoin for their shake. We have to keep moving forward.
