They won't do that because they can't but I dont know what will happen. Civil war ? I k ow many people will be very very upset.
Especially after so much time money and effort was invested in bitcoin.  Thankfully this will never happen.
We can't do anything but to follow the law, however bitcoin will not be ban if we continue to support it and minimize it's usage for illegal activities. And the government must see that it is widely use in good transaction for the benefit of all people not to hide the criminals transactions.

Some have tried to ban bitcoin but it was not to be.
Nothing can stop it's progress that it has achieved so far.

That is certainly true. There are many who prohibit bitcoin, but it all does not make all users of bitcoin became stopping and switching a switch to find other digital currencies. Because the bitcoin gives us better profits and large in comparison to other currencies. It is the most powerful reason for all users of the bitcoin keep using it. And also we will always benefit though does nothing, by just having some bitcoin

Right. Even me if it will be banned in our country .id still push on using it there are lots of benefit and peofits tht can get in Bitcoin. But still im hoping that banning will never happen in our country its more fun to use without restrictions and violations.

I just read that Russia just made bitcoin legal. Probably because they could not stop it and so that they can tax it. Ha ha. This is a good trend. Wonder what they are going to do now about the trend to anonymous.
It's good to hear so after so many rumours and negative news about bitcoin being banned in several countries or about the government trying to stop people from using bitcoin. This will surely affect bitcoin in a good way and this may change people's thoughts about bitcoin. I used to assume that everybody loves bitcoin but the more I ask people about bitcoin, the more I feel that they just don't want to have anything to deal with bitcoin. So I really hope that this will change soon in the future.
I saw that coming, that one day, Russia would legalize the usage of bitcoin, just knowing how many russians are interested in bitcoin is intriguing.
I foresaw the russian legalization of bitcoin due to much evidence:
After months of hearing rumors, plots, conspiracies, demonic possessions .......etc about Bitcoin all over the media, it's good to hear something as cheerful as this. Cheesy Cheesy

Russian had made a lot of drama. Like the bitcoin telenovela. Over 2 times they were announcing about banning bitcoin.  Cheesy Cheesy

I think chaos. Do you know why? Because many of us are seeking privacy, anonymity, freedom here. We're here because we find Bitcoin as a refuge from the governments, from the total control. Banning Bitcoin would enrage maost of us, triggering a chaos in the world.

We as Bitcoiners are a far minority. There will be no chaos from angry and frustrated Bitcoiners causing riots all over the world. Bitcoin will never be banned in all countries. So if one country (most likely a less developed one) decides to force through a total ban, then things will simply move to a different country. People can adapt quickly to all kinds of situations. It won't be that big of a deal.

What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?
At first, there could be some panic selling, but then people would realize that would not be enough to stop people from using it. In fact, this would only promote Bitcoin, making people realize the benefits of using it, and making them realize that Bitcoin is the way. If we stop to think, Bitcoin exists to protect people from the irrationality of centralized institutions.
Well, you're right. if governments start does bring orders that, bitcoin is something illegal, then, there will be panic selling. it can make bitcoin prices down very quickly, besides, it would make very many people to lose business, and make unemployment rise again. but I really did not expect this
I disapprove these theories. If the governments banned bitcoin, there would be a big hole in the ecosystem which can not be replaced by other currencies and the governments have to accept that there will be a big crash coming. Moreover, Bitcoin forbidden laws could start revolutions all over this planet which consist of many kinds of people including hackers. Bitcoin is first used by hackers and I do not think that they will watch the governments ban Bitcoin without doing nothing
That's the possible outcome I was thinking as well, hackers will likely protest in a way which they are good. Imagine the situation, we are denied with our freedom to use bitcoin where in fact we are already comfortable using it as it benefits us. They are robbing us and they want to run the world without considering our voice to be heard.

And these hackers will be tracked down and put to jail one by one, reminds me of some sci-fi movie, sad,i forgot the name of the movie.  I don't think that there will be a worldwide revolution for the bitcoin supporter are just some percentage of the world population, and most of them will be tamed by their government.  Unless another government support the movement but I doubt that.

I doubt bitcoin can be banned, it would be really hard to control it or stop anyone from using it. I like comparing it to encryption, if the government decides to ban encryption one day, I and many other people will continue to use it, because it's hard to stop but easy to do.
Sure you can ban exchanges, so that nobody can buy or sell it easily. But you'd still be able to buy and sell it face to face without problems.
I don't think as well that a ban of bitcoin would be possible.
If one country would decide to declare mining & posessing bitcoin to be illegal, the miners would move to another country and the owners would not tell they had bitcoins.
The exchanges on the other hand would be easier to handle for the authorities. A government could decide that exchanges could not be called up anymore in a country.
Then bitcoin would not be banned, but it would be much harder to come by in a certain region of the world.
I'm sure, some smart people would see this as an opportunity to earn money.

Bitcoin has no centre to attack. There is no single organisation or person that controls Bitcoin and transactions don't go through a central clearing house there is really no way a regulator can stop people from downloading Bitcoin wallets and sending each other bitcoins. If there we to block all the websites that people can download Bitcoin wallets from, new ones will come up and some people will compile their own wallets from source code - Bitcoin is like Bittorrent is that respect. If they shut down the internet, people will send each other Bitcoin via SMS and if they shut down the electricity supply, people will use solar and battery-powered solutions

Thanks for the info, I didn't know about that! Yes, it might become popular, but there's no way they can tax it unless they know what wallet we've got. For example they would never find out how much I earned if I sent my income to a different wallet than the one I told them. I think it's just a test to check out what people would do with it, and then the same idea but made by the governments will be implemented into different countries.
The reason why I use bitcoin is because it's tax free though I need to fee for the mining fees in transaction and any related fees when in exchange site, the moment it will be tax, I don't know if I still have the same interest like I feel now, and people as well, they might change on how they look bitcoin.

Well, such situation that bitcoin may be banned by government can really happen. In the case if bitcoin will start to distrub the system. And you are totally right that in such case many people will loose a work and money.
i am very much hopeful that we are not going to face such kind of situation, hope that bitcoin will soon recognize as legal currency by our government, and people will start using it as fiat currency in normal shops.
