A flux capacitor would be my most desired purchase.

I can build you a Flux Capacitor for Bitcoins  Smiley

Seriously.  I am Electronic Engineer, and here is the one I have been tinkering with and improving for a while.
Its actually more finished than this photo (which was taken a couple of months ago).

Notice that this is a much more advanced model than the 1988 BTTF Version.  Tech has moved on since then you know  Smiley

Most of the worlds Flux Capacitor builders are of the "Cargo Cult" variety, slavishly duplicating the color of the paint, the stickers on the vacuum relays and the placement of the screws..  How trivial.. If they *understood* how it worked, they would realise such things are irrelevant to the operating principles.

This one includes..

- an inbuilt Arc Reactor for a power source (No Plutonium or Mr.Fusions needed for the Gigawatt supply),

-Flux Compression Rings to eliminate the need for a stainless steel shell around the operator (No Delorean needed)

-Nixie Plasma Wave guides for inertial space/time coordinate correction so you dont suddenly find yourself out in space or underground when moving temporally but not allowing for the distortions around any Kerr Spacetime Metric (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerr_metric)

-Microprocessor controlled PWM modulated Electroluminescent Coils for adjustable containment of the Temporal Field Radius so the displacement effect can be tailored to take as much or as little of the surrounding environment with you as you like.

-Bluetooth Interface so the Field Parameters can be controlled from your Android Smart phone, making all those clunky TouchTone Keypad and 7-Segment Displays obsolete.   We're talking touch screen interface and voice control here man.  "Scotty, beam me forwards !" spoken into your phone will have trigger the forward displacement field phase shifts and so on.

Heres the circuitry on the back as it was a couple of months ago.

If youre interested, I will take some more up to date photos..

Unfortunately, I got a bit enthusiastic and couldnt help testing the Triple-Dimension-axis capacitor discharge displacement functions before the
EL Field Containment Coils were operational, and ever since then, things have been a bit .. *weird*.

Im not sure exactly how large the test field was, or how far it extended out from the center.   I may now be living in a slightly different quantum time signature parallel reality than I was before, but I havent been able to think of a test that will prove the matter conclusively.   I tried putting my Cat in a box, but it just howled and scratched me when I let it out, so that didnt work.

I can build you a duplicate model if you like (although its taken a *lot* of work and 6months + of time so far as you can see from the photos, so it wont be cheap, a few million BTC should cover it, after all, you will only need *1* coin to operate the whole words economy on in the future Wink )  - and I cant offer you an instruction manual if you do want one, so any unintended reality distortions, delusions or other things that may result from its experimental use are thereform your problem.

A Brazillian bikini modelling agency has to be on the list somewhere.

I'm a geek at heart though, a pile of maths books and tenure in a good maths department covers most of my needs.

I need an new box...
While it would be nice to be able to get a lot of these things, I think, for now at least, I'd rather have a simpler process to do it all with. Right now it goes:

- I take money I have and put it in my bank account
- I transfer money from my bank account to a dwolla account
- I transfer money from the dwolla account to an exchange account (MtGox, TradeHill, etc)
- At the exchange I trade my dollars for Bitcoins
- I send my Bitcoins from my exchange account to my wallet
- I sit on the new coins for about 4 to 10 hours so they have enough confirmations to not incur other fees when used
- FINALLY I buy something at a website that accepts Bitcoins

This needs to be drastically simplified if Bitcoins are going to compete with PayPal or credit card payments online. The common person is likely to look at this process and say "It's too complicated and takes too long, screw it."

Changing the things I currently use card online for wouldn't make much difference to me personally.  Let's remember that bitcoins are actually a bigger advantage for the merchant (since they don't have CC fees to pay), than the buyer.  I'd be happy to use bitcoins, but it wouldn't make much difference.

Things I currently use cash, or face to face card for would be nice.  I hate having to go to cash machines, and I'd like faster turn around when paying with card. So: beer, petrol, lunchtime sandwiches and at the supermarket.

The time I really feel the need for bitcoins though is this: splitting a bill at a restaurant.  How cool would it be to have a world where my friends and I could each scan a QR code written on a restaurant bill, tick off the items we had, and tip the waiter from our smartphones?

However, the thing I'm already doing, and is brilliant is settling minor debts.  I have one friend (so far) who uses bitcoins as well.  When we owe each other money (just the little debts that friends often have between them) we just beam money to each other.  The thing that always surprises me when doing this is the power bitcoin makes you feel you have.  It is liberating to be able to give electronic cash so easily, without needing permission from a bank.

My money suddenly feels like it really is mine.

Why does everyone keep saying everyday normal stuff?
Everyone is different, some like to cook alot so they need vegetable oil or w/e. Some like movies and would pay for movies over food any day even if it ment staving them selves. Some people love to clean.

As for me, I'd love to be able to buy things tangible, so a nice steady bitcoins to dollars that was easily transferable, like forex.

I think it would already be a huge step forward to be able to use BTC for everything I now do with online transfers, starting from rent, utility bills, ISP/mobile phone provider, buying goods online etc. Basically everything where it is not that crucial for a payment to be confirmed within the hour. Either the service has been provided anyway already in good faith, or shipment can be hold until payment is confirmed.
