News do play a role in the crypto trade business, of course it doesn't always have to be a good role, but it doesn't have to be a bad role neither, it depends on you to decide if it is good or not. What you can consider good or bad would be actually to calculate the news and see if it is a true fact or an opinion piece, there are a lot of confusion between those things.

For example, when you read something like "does taxes lowering affecting bitcoin?" you may think it is a fact piece, you can read inside and see that it is just some person questioning it and making some points on how it could be, but just an assumption, on the other hand "may 10th will be halving" type of news is actually fact news and that is what you should care about, not the other ones that just gives their thoughts about things.

That is why we need to get the updated news about their way so that we can prevent getting scammed by them. It is hard, but it's worth doing because if we don't get more knowledge, we will be the next target and have a chance to get our money. Besides that, we need to be careful, especially if we read some information about getting free giveaways because right now, there is no free lunch for us. We need to do something if we want to make money and don't get in their trap easily because the scammers will use any ways to trick us.

Or maybe we just stay away from all the news and just rely on our own judgement and long term plans? I mean, why are we always going to be influenced by news, more knowledge, from who? Guys who of course want us to do the things that will help them in the long run. That's the true understanding of free lunches, that no one does it for our benefit.

We have seen a lot of changes in the crypto market recently, not in terms of pricing but rather in terms of projects as we have seen much lesser new projects this year compared to last two years. Is it because scam projects cannot scam people and they quit or else there are no investor's to start new projects?
hopefully what you say may come true, at least the scam project has begun to be ignored by investors for not supporting it. because clearly all this time the makers of scam projects have been at a very critical level to get rid of, because it makes the crypto market also very lackluster because there are no good new projects that can succeed well.

but if you look at the reality that I have followed so far on new projects, it seems that there are still those who are still doing that by leaving the project already in the market and not just striving to develop it, so that ultimately the existing tokens are no longer valuable. something like this is still happening and it seems that there are even those who are trying to extend the project so that there can be investors who want to glance and add more capital. the obvious reason is the coincidence with the corona pandemic being used to be able to extend his time, this act which is not commendable by stalling can certainly ensure another scam will occur.

there must be time to end all actions that are not commendable, must start from the bounty manager not to accept all the projects as long as there is no certainty that the people behind him can be trusted. I have heard that there have been a number of old bounty managers making regulations in order to stop this, we have to support them so that many good projects grow.

~snip~

Every year scammers became more resourceful since some of their schemes will not work that's why we will see some beautiful changes among their tactics used so its best not to gt hook on any new projects right now and go only with bitcoins since those new projects is not good even if they portrait good to their community, We need to dump them quickly if we have some or just leave those if we think about investing since by this we can discourage scammers if they don't have any victims fall for their traps.

There are times people just invest into bitcoin and just keep it going for a while, sure people are not trading but they are buying, those people are still here, also companies to increase their holdings of crypto as well, this is more of a period where people are just getting ready for the next step, that is about it.

Obviously there will be a period when bitcoin will not be staying at these levels, after all it can't stay here forever, but at that moment we will get to see what people who have invested all that time ago actually planned about when they are doing what they do right now and we will get to see people actually moving to the direction wherever they want and that will either hurt us or help us depending our situation, so I would say careful what is going on now to understand what will happen.

Seem like many investors are afraid to invest in new project due to many project that fell to scam. Also, the culture for the project's token/coin is always like that, was pumped when it was launched and then it was dumped. So as many investors will see it first before they spend money for investing. And the other factor is future market/ perpetual market, there will be many investor who changes their strategy to this way, you just need to use fundamental factor to get 100× profit.

People are much aware about the project where they will invest or not. They are able to identify the real and scam project as well. Obviously people will invest if they find good potential project. Otherwise there is no benefit to invest on every project.

The scam projects can scam people that offer a big prize at the end, such as they will list in the top exchange, always maintain the project to run properly, and the team will always protect the investor asset, etc. Perhaps, the scammers are still searching for the next target, and they will modify the new way to trick people, and they will never stop searching for the new target. The scammers realized that they need to use another method to trick people because right now, many people aware of them, and they know how to avoid the scam.

The amount of scam project that used to pop up every now and then, made it look like there are a lot of projects out there. Probably, those scammers are taking a break? Or maybe people are now aware of those scam projects and they are ignoring them. So, the scammers are making less profit and isn't worth the amount of coins they are making when compared to the amount of tasks they have to do to create a successful scam. Either way, its a good thing. We don't need any more shit projects and people spamming/shilling for those projects.
Actually even there are lots of campaigns present, there are still possibility that they are scam or will not succeed but hopefully those legit will succeed , however it still good that even in Pandemic there are still projects that are trying to developed to make difference in these crisis. They can take advantage this now that people are doing more projects online, they can visibly seen every now and then online through doing commercials in popular social media to gain supporters but better know they are legit since those online users have plenty of time too now to research their legalities and their project throughly.
The sad news is the victims of the scams project nowadays are keep rising and it can be a bad news not only in the cryptocurrency community but in the whole world because there are now a lot of investors that are staying away with crypto because of the bad image which is considered as scam. The projects that are becoming successful nowadays are only few and majority of the projects are scams . It take a lot of time in order to just find a legit projects out there because there are some that looks legit even though it is just a scam.

No, they just rebranded and now calling themselve DeFi projects instead of the usuage they used to scam investors, every project both the legit and scams are moving toward the hype of decentralized finances so instead of new project launching in their numbers, the already existing ones are rebranding to scam already existing patronizers and newly gullible quick money hunters.

Is there money to be made in this hype? Yes of course but you need to think as a trader instead of an investor as most DeFi won't last long as money will be moving from the less popular ones to the popular or new ones. If you can keep up to the speed of the market, It's most advisable to just buy Bitcoin and hold.

The cryptocurrency market is getting widened, but the existence of new projects have decreased. This is good in my opinion, because during the previous year more projects were termed scam. Slowly people have known better about the cryptocurrency projects, and the same has made people avoid scam projects.
This means people have known their lessons having due diligence prior to investing in a project. Many experience of scam projects that's why investors are keen on observing first before putting some money and effort. In terms of crypto market price still, it is volatile.
the victims usually are those newbie investors or those greed one that is being blinded by the lying of each project to bring them high profit ,in which can easily lured those kind of characters.

But if you love your money then  you will not trust this scammers though this is hard to find yet our instinct sometimes tells us which to trust.
There are several allegations on projects in the space but it is been treated silently until the eventualities. The large tokens held by most team will be an issue of contention in coming months, why the large project token when all you are willing to sell is 20%. They gradually unlock the token and dump in the market to fill the available order book so as to hold bitcoin and other pairs..
That is why we must ask to help of investigator and researcher here in forum because they are the one who's skilled in finding this stupid scammers, they can even detect which project are legits or scam.

It is likely to see that project developers are also taking their rest for they have less chance to succeed amidst the pandemic and also the interest of the people to invest. But I'm not considering this a sign that we are close at its ends. The situation is really harsh to see and we all have been affected to living to a thing that creating a new project(s) will likely fail (that is pretty obvious to see).

What is the purpose of all these so-called projects based on a lot of false promises and almost certain loss of money for investors? I think we need to change the paradigm that crypto is something that allows anyone to start a project, without any permission from the regulator and responsibility for the success or failure of the project.

Such an approach only hurts BTC, it turns out that any fool can start a project, scam people for a few million dollars and then disappear - and everyone else pretends like nothing happened.

meh, that's the free market for you. caveat emptor. you don't wanna lose money on a risky investment? don't invest. i prefer that to a nanny state that places excessive burdens on startup companies. i want more anonymity and less red tape in crypto.

what you're talking about isn't particular to crypto either. it's just the natural cycle of technology-based startups.

Quote
Peak of Inflated Expectations: Early publicity produces a number of success stories — often accompanied by scores of failures. Some companies take action; many do not.

Trough of Disillusionment: Interest wanes as experiments and implementations fail to deliver. Producers of the technology shake out or fail. Investments continue only if the surviving providers improve their products to the satisfaction of early adopters.

You answered your question, yes that is because they can't scam anymore, things have change, project are not anymore done in ICO, it's done in IEO and there are already a lot of exchanges that are mark with bad reputation, so even if a certain project launch an IEO, it still would not succeed if it's done in a bad exchange, for them to have a better success rate, they need to have the funds to pay for good exchanges like Binance, and not many projects can afford that, so they'll prefer not to try as they would just fail anyway.

Also, people are more matured now, and the market is not bullish yet, that's another factor.

But there are Still victims of thousands of scams in the industry, many of these projects are scam projects at first sight. Though, scam projects has minimize that very few are not victims of these scams compared to the past. Cryptocurrency enthusiasts and potential investors are now understanding the difference between the real projects and the fake projects. People now research into a particular project before making investment with so called project which is a plus.

I guess the main reason is those numerous scams happening during ICO/IEO and now we had project defi but it takes time for the investors to make a study about these projects. Because the mark of being scam was in their mind and they don't want to happen again.
It was the 2017 unexpected pump of Bitcoin that encourages a lot of ICO (the real ones) and the scam ICO's.
That was like the rise of the ICO projects as well.
Now, as the bubble in 2017 burst, crypto projects gradually lose their interest to pursue as some investors left after the bubble. Scam isn't the main reason here, but it's the investors who has been discouraged in 2018 market run after believing that Bitcoin/cryptocurrency is the source of lavishness.

Even if they do pursue then its still useless because investors confidence had already gone away due to scams and frauds that did happen in the past this is why its no surprise that people doesnt really easily fund
nor support on todays most projects in result on high rate of failure even if we do talk into those legit projects.

This is not new and been continuing even up to these days but we can somehow still able to see that there are still project owners who do continue to launch and do hope for market support.

In talks of investors side then this is what makes investment even more harder because it does really require much more  research before jumping in.
