If you want to research coins I have a lot of site recommendations, first forums like bitcointalk and reddit can help you ask as you do now, secondly information sites like CoinDesk if you want information to know which sign market and social media sites like Twitter also contains good information for you, and sites like CoinMarketCap and BitcoinWisdom if you want to monitor the mobile crypto market for each coin or reading candle.

When you decide to trade crypto , firstly you should be know about crypto tracker like coinmarketcap, coinchekup, coinlib, coingecko and also trading view for charting. Beside that you can use mobile app of Blockfolio or Delta to set up the portfolio of your crypto investment.

- stay away from ICO, in 99% of the times they are going to either scam you or their price will drop hard as soon as it hits the market.
- if someone told you to buy some altcoin then you most probably shouldn't do it because most people around here will tell you to buy what they have already bought and can not sell because price has dropped.
- learn more about what pump and dump is, you will see it all over altcoin market.

Frankly ICO investment has gotten really worse these days and I am sure all of your points are true to the mark. Yes they are scammers most of the time and only 1-2% of them will turn to be legit, with good price and great backings of supporters. If you find any ICO with those characters then only there is point in entering that market otherwise its not useful. If you really want to make investment in the altcoins anyway then surely you can do it but only with those coins which re already public, over the exchanger and with great volume, so probably the Top 50 coins will do job for you.

There aren't any of them, so you will have to make your own research if you really want to find those kind of tools, i have been trading for years and i have never seen that kind of stuff before.

For me the best crypto exchange is bittrex, poloniex, binance, crytopia, etc. Because of safe trading site and easy trading platform and shitcoin is just a coin with small value or not valuable coin.

You can find good crypto by observing their trading if the value in trade is good then I think it is very good to buy it and it is just because the great value the peoples have great interest and buy more for trading and like to trade with these coins,

For ICOs the best thing is to read the white papers and decide for yourself.

No, they just have to research the ICO before taking part in it. People who bought Ether during the presale and held it until now will be pretty wealthy by this point.  It's about doing due diligence on the people behind the coin.

ICOs can be great, you just have to distinguish between the endless shitcoins and those with a real purpose by reading and understanding their whitepapers.

All the information you need about trading is in your exchangers  sites, so you don't need to bother yourself visiting different website and confusing yourself. Another place I think you can relay on for fundamental issues  and news is http://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin.

This stuff is really cool! I know many of you like typical forums are going to tell me to use Google.  I tried but I'd like to hear everyone's input please.

What's the best cryptocurrency research website?

Also why is the word "shitcoin" everywhere?

Something that would lead me in the right direction to buying would be much appreciated.

Please and thank you!
In my opinion the reviews and news articles are more important before to Invest in the particular altcoin , so here the better thing in the altcoins is to just susbcribe the news channels of bitcoin and take action sudden when you hear news about any shit or any low priced altcoin .
Now here the main thing in this is that there are many sites that tell about the related sites and exchage and about the users Profile link to communicate with the dev of the altcoin .
But here the most better site that I like is coinmarketcap.com , this is really awesome site , about every detail you can find for any altcoin ( around 650+altcoins are exists in the altcoins market ) .

But, the crypto site is also a good source to starting your research about the coins.
This place already provided a lot of information to doing your research.
Also why is the word "shitcoin" everywhere?
It is caused by a lot of coins without a proper roadmap and just tries to gain more money to develop nothing for the investors. I mean a lot of project with millions raised funds offered nothing for us than just a crappy bullshit.

What's the best cryptocurrency research website?
Honestly do you really think that there will be some websites which will be publishing some trading calls for free of cost by spending long hours for their researches and analysis. I believe if you are really looking for researches about crypto currencies, you only have to work for it to have your own researches and analysis.

I do see some crypto news magazines are publishing overviews on bitcoin trading, but I'm not finding anybody using it and sharing their experience on how effective those researches are.

http://www.coinmarketcap.com provide best trading research information but if you really want to succeed in trading then I advise you to do your own research using exchangers sites news feed and charting. If you developed your own trading strategy and research information and knowledge for successful trading? Very soon you will become a professional trader.
