There is trouble abrewing
because you are googling wrong Smiley
you should start searching for basic trading stuff, not specific to "crypto trading" if you are new to trading. and there are a lot of websites like investopedia with easy explanation of many things, it even have a part about bitcoin and trading it.

also there is this site called tradingview which you can see some nice topics there about trading and some analysis which can be pretty useful. (yes it has crypto trading).

coinmarketcap that people repeat is just a list of altcoins, it has nothing more. you can find links to announcements, websites, and where they are traded but it is not helping with trading.

the term "shitcoins" comes from the fact that cryptocurrencies started on a massive scale with bitcoin and since it is open source anybody can copy its code and create his own. that means a lot of newbies did that and still do it, and end up with a very bad code that they have no understanding of. and that coin is being traded.
also some call altcoins that get pump and dumped a lot, are manipulated, have pre-mines, have some sort of scam like ICO, ... as "shitcoin".
the meaning is not really set in stone Wink

as for direction to buying, i say don't just jump in. start watching the market for a little bit, put all you read to work and see how successful you can be. then small with a small amount of money like 10-20 dollars and work your way up.

If OP is referring to a site something an analysis like the stock broker, i don't know yet, wherein the broker is making his/her forecasts. I think its better to do your own homework by reading ANN Section for more info and update for each coin here. Also, www.coinmarketcap.com is very informative site or resources for their graphic driven update and trading volume in the last 24 hours. It also ranks cryptocoins based on market capitalization.

for me theres is no best research website in crypto, because in the end all depends on coins and developers itself. And considering we have thousands of coins out there. How can they monitor all?, But most probably they just stick to top coins in coinmarketcap. In the end, the decision to invest is ours. But thanks to the effort of some cryptocurrency related websites. I also use cryptodetails.com for comparing coins, i like this site coz of its simplicity with the important links are there.

First off, thank you for not saying google it! lol
Secondly, thank you for the info boost for crypto trading.
Thirdly, now I know what shitcoins are but it's still confuses me as to why you call it that lol.
Lastly, thank you for the site that was the sort of thing I was looking for!

...and yes you are not a typical forum. Great first impression from this community and I will do my best to grow.

I was about to say google, until I actually read your post. So I'll put some effort.

The best research is your own research. Especially when dealing with cryptocurrency. It's considered volatile, but as years go by, the amount of growth in users becoming interested in cryptocurrency has increased a lot! Put yourself in the shoes of the cryptocurrency itself. Yes it sounds wierd but that's the best way. Look at its vision/mission. Do you believe in it? Is it in demand? Is it disruptive? Ask yourself questions like these. You see the word "shitcoin" everywhere because that's the term we use for certain cryptocurrencies that are still growing or they have there good days or bad days. Sometimes it has low volume and sometimes it's prone to pump and dumps. Take that information and make a term that revolves around that. Then you have big 5 coins, but everyone's is different. You have some with a proven track record of success, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, and so on. Choose your big 5 coins and be passionate about them but don't trade with emotions. Many have the same motives and some have a unique and different motive. In terms of giving you a website, not sure that would be helpful. Keep track of Twitter, reddit, and bitcointalk announcements. Do your own due diligence, and prove to yourself that your money is important to you, just as much as profiting. I'm not a big fan of directing people to a site for that type of request, because many haven't proven themselves. If there was one that is worth noting, it's probably cryptonaire.com. They have proven the successful track record and gains. Most importantly, do your own research. I hope I was helpful and now you don't consider us as a "typical forum". Best of luck!

This stuff is really cool! I know many of you like typical forums are going to tell me to use Google.  I tried but I'd like to hear everyone's input please.

What's the best cryptocurrency research website?

Also why is the word "shitcoin" everywhere?

Something that would lead me in the right direction to buying would be much appreciated.

Please and thank you!
