P2Pool payout is working fine. 
You realise you are mining on an experimental fork of p2pool though, which yesterday got shut down because payouts weren't working properly, right?

I'm really waiting for the code so I can run my own p2pool server but hopefully this will do for now.

Well that's certainly something I would have liked to have known yesterday.
Pools are going to need to know what N is, so they can calculate and verify shares. AFAIK, there's no method of exposing this from the client.
So, each time N changes, pools are going to have to shut down, re-write their verification code, and start back up again.
Basically: You're stuck with solo mining.
