I doubt all the people who voted digital cash was thinking about cryptocurrency. it would still be nice to receive money via cryptocurrency but I'd rather pick cash
out convenience(like what Kakmakr mentioned). although you can exchange cryptocurrency into cash there but the number of people I know who are into
cryptocurrency are few and I probably wouldn't get any gift from them and the ones who most likely to gift me money are doubtful and hesitant about bitcoin even though
I have explained Bitcoin to them a lot of times to them they are still too hung up about the scammers in bitcoin so whether I like it or not cash is the best option I got.

I am a very big supporter of Crypto currencies, but I have to be honest... if given the choice, I would prefer getting cash as a gift. The reason for this is simple, because most cash gifts gives you more flexibility. You can use that cash on something, where they do not accept Bitcoin as a payment option and it is virtually "tax free"

You can still convert the cash to Bitcoin, if you want to .... but most gift cards can just be spend at the merchant where it was bought.  Roll Eyes  So, yes Cash is still King with me.  Wink

I think mostly prefer cash. However, if the situation does not need cash right away, I must say digital money. Its really quite hard to earn digital money. I mean earning it that much. To receive it as a gift is a very unique way. Besides, I can add it to my digital funds to have more for digital investments.

Digital all the way!! What do you need cash for anyway? Gift cards are even more silly essepcially if you get no bonus for using them. I guess people somehow think it is more "thoughtful" than cash.

hey , btw it's an old news, that survey is created on 2018 .
but well, i guess its doesn't matter anymore , since poll is closing with 72% for digital currency from 9100 votes.
and probably now , if bank of england create a same survey, i guess probably will 80% ++ for digital currency  Grin

It is good to see people already from 2018 who want digital currency. Its all the rage don't you know. 9100 is also a decent variety of votes and they are all from a banks tweets. I agree 80%+

I'm flexible and I would appreciate any means of receiving money. I won't be choosy since it's already a gift given to me so I'm willing to accept it in any ways depending on the person who'll give me money. Since Christmas is approaching, I keep on thinking about the scenario where people will give you money as a present using digital. It would be a great experience to change the traditional way since here in my country, it's common to receive money as a gift during Christmas.

Me too, if I receive money as a gift, half of it, will give to my siblings so they can buy what they want, half of it, I will buy Bitcoin as a gift for myself in the future, I love holding Bitcoin even just little  amount as I know someday it will be worth it to invest, so I am not wasting my time accumulating as much as I could. I am considering it as my long term investment.

That is good. Very kind of you and generous. I am glad you think of your future. Keep it up!

I prefer having it as a digital currency because I prefer saving money than spending it for temporary happiness. And having it digital, cryptocurrency or fiat, would make it harder for me to spend it, especially in my country where digital mode of payment is not widely adopted. BTC is fine and digital fiat, and some top altcoin, but it'll cover up some exchange fees to convert it to my local currency though.

An indication that digital currency is much known by many now. Indeed a good sign, but personally either I will receive cash or as digital currency will be useful for me as I am a hodler for a long time and it can be advantageous for me if digital currencies as a gift will be sent to my wallet. Or cash so i can spend it.

But let us think of the person who will gonna send the gift, if that person is also a crypto user then it is not difficult to send a gift like what I am doing when I wanna send some bucks to my brother.

That will depend on what I want to use the money for as at then and secondly on the person sending the money.
 So it goes both ways

I voted and prefer cash since i'd have more options on how or what I wanted to do with the money but that doesn't mean I hate digital currencies. I like both but i'd rather spend the money I get during Christmas and treat myself with it instead of saving it up on my wallet for that additional potential profit. Unless the amount i'll be receiving is way too much for me and I couldn't spend it all then the rest would exchanged to cryptocurrencies or hold them if it's vice versa.

As long as it is a gift should we have any preference ? I would go with both but if I get the chance to choose , I would love to receive the gift in digital cash as in this way I could earn way more by just keeping them into a wallet waiting for the opportunity to sell them at bigger prices. To be honest I'm thinking to switch my payments into a digital one , no matter what coin as soon as its still active and the team is working on it. There are plenty of coins who are offering gateway payments solutions for your businesses so why not giving a chance now when there are still in the early phase of adoption ?

Any form would be good for me and I would highly appreciate it.
Cash would be great since we could meet the one who would give us the gift and personally thanks them.
But crypto would be way more better since we know that it could rise up and we could get more if we hold it.

If I were asked I would choose the digital currency, because I could use it to add to my investments or I could buy coins that I think have the potential to rise in price. So that I can save on Christmas too, because we definitely spend more money on Christmas preparations and in the new year.

I don't find that survey surprising, we are currently at the stage where boomers are being replaced by millennials, for them the use of technology is mandatory, for this reason, banks have had to migrate their platforms from the physical world to the digital.

I also am not surprised because the survey was done on twitter. If they were calling people or asking them on the street the results would be much different.
The older generation who would never choose crypto in general doesn't use social media and even when they do they don't participate in surveys. They just share their opinions and photos.

People are increasingly attracted to receiving money in digital form.
The interest in digital cash is a glimpse into the future. The way we exchange funds in the global marketplace is shifting.
This could open a broader path for cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange.
The main reason why everyone prefers digital gift cards is simply because they are very well use that to purchase goods with ease and crypto will be the medium of virtual transaction, the way in which we exchange funds in the global market is not having a major change, even if you want to purchase the digital good you need to have fiat currency, so where does the change comes from Tongue.

It all depends on the knowledge of the person who will be given the prize, if the person does not understand digital currency, it is likely to choose fiat currency on the grounds they do not understand how to use it.
if I personally would definitely choose a digital currency prize, especially bitcoin because it would be beneficial to increase my investment in bitcoin.
but if those who are given a gift do not understand digital currency and do not understand how to use it, you must explain the positive benefits of digital currency in detail because there is an opportunity for you to promote it.

As technology advances, of course I prefer digital currency as a gift. the reason is simple, easy to use, only need a smartphone and internet or use offline wallet as a gift. IMO, if this vote is held in all social media, maybe the digital currency will dominate all of the votes.

It really depend son my needs at the time. I think both because I need to also make a holding of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular and we also need cash for survival and other practical purposes. My Wife I am sure would rather Digital and Bitcoin gifts as she is the one most passionate about this kind of thing, even more than myself actually. I believe that for myself I would like cash, but she would prefer Bitcoin she said. I am quite surprised to see that in the survey created the majority of people wanted digital money. More young people are involved in this so this is most probably why. It is encouraging to see though.
