Bitcoin itself is already a plan B. With that in mind, we will not have a plan B. Perhaps a plan C can be executed. Who knows though? Only time will tell.

Firstly i don't see any chance of bitcoin for failing as it is being accepted by many websites and places by time, and secondly, a kingdom always has a king if the king dies then another takes its place and start ruling over, so if bitcoin fails totally so another coin will take its place. Maybe litecoin or some other.

I can speak for myself and lately I've fled to the altcoin community, not with all my savings of course but I've tried to diversify a little bit since there's like a mini gold rush right now so you may as well do some BTC if you know what you are doing. There's also the possibility that you can get into a new upcoming project (there are plenty of it) that eventually can become more popular than Bitcoin ever did. In many ways I feel Bitcoin had its time and it's in a long agony right now unless it can pull out a miracle, there's just absolutely no demand for it from the average consumer.

At this stage, it will never fail, because the hash power is already here, that's the infrastructure of bitcoin's value base. As long as those farms are intact, they just need to run a most widely used software and everything will be fine. Or, they can even run a minority version software but the risk of the coins on that chain being shorted to death is very high

I take the diversification approach to investing in Crypto currencies. { 50 / 30 /20 } I invest 50% in Bitcoin & 30% non-crypto related investments and

another 20% in other Alt coins. I will never put all my eggs in one basket, not just to distribute the risk, but also to increase my chances to hit the

jackpot with other things. If real state booms, I can grab a share of that or if a Alt coin is very successful, I will have a portion of that profits.  Grin

I don't thin k that bitcoin has the potential to fail any time soon. Even if for some reason it hits a wall and stops satisfying the user demands there'll surely be an alternative fork that will. But that seems unlikely given that there's so much infrastructure built.

Plan B could be other alt coins. I certainly hope that Plan B is another similar currency. The current fiat system is not sustainable.
I don't think other altcoin will be successfully if bitcoin goes down. All of the crypto seems to depended upon bitcoin market move till now.

Then all coins are doomed to failure. Because people will think it will be the same as happened with Bitcoin.

If bitcoin fails, it means most altcoin will fail following bitcoin Roll Eyes
Then, many altcoin created by community or company will rise & say it's bitcoin 2.0 or something better than bitcoin.

My plan B is sell all bitcoin i have & time to move on something better than bitcoin.

Guess then this makes the question irrelevant. Haha. But if you ask me, Bitcoin can only fail if an altcoin was able to develop Bitcoins flaws.

I am going to sell all of my savings before the possible doom (which I don't think can happen) and start over again with an alternative substitute like a promising altcoin.

how about if we dont have a chance to take a savings dude?for me its impossible btc will fails instead of many good advantage in there..maybe if happen ill try another currencies like altcoin or maybe in future there will be more good than this ill move in to there..

I think that there is no need for a plan B. Reading the main post of the thread mentioned by the OP I think that cannot be any problem if the price drop at that amount and most of the farms close the doors because the mining will be not more profitable. According to me, with this massive close of doors, will come even the drop of the difficulty of mining and this will made again the mining a very profitable activity even mining with computes. Practically we will go back in time when was possible to mine and to have very good profits mining even with a laptop. It will be again the time of the "gold seekers" but this time will be the "bitcoin seekers". And I think that I personally would like to much this time if it would be possible to come again. But only with a condition. To last only the time needed to me (or even to the others who will do like me) to make some thousand bitcoins and then again the begin the normal jump of the price of bitcoin. Wink
I feel the same either than there is no need of any sort of Plan B right now since Bitcoin is running successfully and carrying huge investments by people every day around the globe so no reason seems to be stronger enough to claim that Bitcoin bight close in future and surely no need of any Plan B.

If Bitcoin does not survive, it will be simply replaced by another coin. If you take your time for intensive reasearch of the altcoin market, especially the technology behind the coins, then it is pretty obvious which coin is most likely to be the replacement. I do not think it is Litecoin, because it would be not such a significant update. ETH may have a great future not only as currency, but at this time people could seek for something more simple, ETH is not that specialized to be just a value transfer system.

I won`t write which coin has the greatest potential to replace btc in my opinion, as then I will be accused of marketing, but simply ask yourself which features you would expect from a coin, which can`t be realized with BTC and which coin has the neccessary technology and development to offer this features.

One possibility is also the coexistance of several coins, with different specializations.

I think it is litecoin, looks like the only crypto that seems to have potential to be close to or even more than bitcoin with time.

As long as we need it and trust in it can't fail. Anything fails only in case nobody needs it anymore. On the contrary more and more people trust in Bitcoin, that's why the price of it only drops a little and then begins to rise again. So in short the Plan B is resurrection of Bitcoin.
