I can't expect much from altcoins right now tbh. but the rise in ethereum prices in the last few days could also indicate that we are now in a positive trend. Even though bitcoin is currently on the decline, I'm sure if there is something to be a trigger, then ethereum is the trigger, considering that ethereum is the altcoin with the most users

In a way the altcoin rally is already here. You could see it on ETH and some other coins. Most of coinmarketcap is in the green, even some complete shitcoins like BSV had their good days. BCH is doing great and so is ADA, DOGE and so on. Waves had a big run up in December...

If you made the right moves like bought Waves in November and then switched to ETH 2 weeks ago, you made some nice profit.

Ethereum’s weekend push means that the coin has risen by 20% in the past day and 43% in the past week. Its current price, $912, means that it has a market cap of $104 billion. This is about a sixth of Bitcoin’s market cap; Bitcoin has a market cap of $626 billion, as of this writing.
Alt-Szn is among us once again. All of the alts were up today: Dogecoin by 70%, VeChain by 26%, Litecoin by 17% and Maker by 15%. Even Tether, the cryptocurrency that’s supposed to be pegged to the US dollar, hit $1.02 today.

We have seen a decline in Bitcoin Dominance today from 73.68 to 70.55 and Ethereum started to rally after DOGE. It can be a sign for us. If BTC dominance goes under 70 today and if we see some other rallies we can say that the altparty is already started. But also Bitcoin should go steady.

Perhaps there is a lot of people expecting a massive altcoin rally, because so many people are holding altcoin.
I think the altcoin rally is imminent, very likely it will happen in early 2021.

The longer it takes, the more time I have to collect more altcoins. The pandemic has struck me hard and therefore, I dont have much money to invest in altcoins or any type of assets for a long term income. Luckily, I have found a great job to keep me alive everyday, and I also earn extra money which can be used to buy altcoins. I hope that it will happen in the next few years.

In my portfolio altcoins make up 50% of the assets, so I'm looking forward to the next altcoin bull run.
Hopefully it will come soon, January or February 2021 is the best time I have expected.

Bitcoin price has grown massively in the last few weeks, while Altcoins have gained little or even lost in relation to Bitcoin. In the past, after a strong Bitcoin rally, sooner or later an Altcoin rally set in. Do you expect an Altcoin rally this time too? If so, when and if no, why not?
The real altcoin rally is expected to start when btc hits new peak and that is still very far away because of institutional money flowing in the peak will be very high this time so as btc reaches the peak and turns that will be the time when alt party will start in real sense and like btc, alt season will also be very big this time around.

So does it mean if I'm going to invest on altcoin there's still a chance that I might be losing if the Bitcoin's price won't be stable? I was looking forward on investing to either Ethereum or Litecoin.
If you want to invest in Ethereum, I'll advice you to do so already, eth has been doing very well with Btc since last year and now just as Bitcoin has set a new ath, I expect ethereum to do so in a matter of time. You can invest in ethereum without looking too much at Bitcoin's movement, I know most times eth rises and falls with Bitcoin, but the ethereum network and community is getting very strong and efficient, having said all that, don't let FOMO affect your judgement, if you are done with your research, then you can invest and set your expected ROI.

Yes it is highly expected especially if ethereum moves big because as btc is the first mover for overall market similarly eth is the first mover for altcoins market so it is important for eth to first break the previous highs like btc did and then hopefully other alts will follow.

I heard this topic a lot and got intrigued by this topic about when would a rally be going up? will there be some signals we might be seeing first before going on a rally or it just going to happen?

Why wait for altcoin season, its already happening all of the altcoin is following bitcoin dominance and more of them increase its price morethan x2 from what its price back in November last year. So I don't expect more to altcoin right now they already give profit to me enough to say that altcoin season is already started long time ago following bit coin trend .

Very soon I believe, Ethereum is now trading for 910$, I believe the higher Ethereum grows the closer we are to altcoin season, if you are still holding your altcoin bags you need to have some patience, also watch out for Bitcoin dominance, once the bar start going down altcoins will be in action

Even when the rally has not started yet.

I believe all people who have altcoin already satisfied as you can see right now before the bitcoin reached an all-time high again ETH from around 90-130$ and now ETH has been reached 850-900$. Even some people losing an estimation from bitcoin pair but when they see the estimation from USD they already got a lot profit, If bitcoin can handle the price stable for the next few weeks.

I'm sure altcoin will gain more party!

the altcoin cycle is still not completely significant. in decades, we only focus on bitcoin, all traders ignore altcoins, only a few are targeted, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Polkadot and maybe I can't name one by one.
There is little hope in the future for altcoins to wait for bitcoin price to stabilize. currently bitcoin is very difficult to stop. go and go leave all the altcoins. or if the altcoin has no chance then transfer funds to the altcoin as soon as possible. Given that in various markets such as BITTREX discontinuation of Monero, Zcash, and Dash is ongoing.

Sooner or later investors will want to diversify with their Bitcoin gains but it’s anyone’s guess when. Choosing solid projects is key as you don’t want to be stuck with a shitcoin.

Safer bet is to stack btc when alt season comes with the profits form trading alts.

It will also depend on which altcoins you are talking about because there are some altcoins that didn't pump alongside Bitcoin.  Probably they have just manipulated coin or the dollar base coin also known as a stable coin.  Try to look at the CoinMarketCap most altcoins have the same movement as Bitcoin and altcoins also increased the price like Ethereum and other altcoins.  So, therefore, even there's no rally but still the price showed an increase.

Bitcoin dominance sometimes gives a reason why altcoin moving opposite to Bitcoin when Bitcoin price quickly up, it might altcoins down as capital cycles back into Bitcoin and then Bitcoin goes down, they will do the same.

I've been expecting it since Bitcoin reached the new ath at the end of 2020, to be more precise I hope the alt season will occur in November or December. But Bitcoin condition really continues to dominate the market and I still hope the alt season will still happen at the beginning of the year. Hopefully.
