If I have invested money in altcoins then I never hold them too long and sell whenever its giving me at least some profits as it can be bought again when price dumps and bitcoin is an long term investment for me so I will not sell till it achieves my desired price and till that time I will keep them safe in my wallet.

This is the correct way of trading altcoins in the cryptocurrency world - we should set a target amount of gain as our exit or sell even before we made our buy. This way, you will not get much of the emotion side of trading and instead just follow on the pre-planned trading.

When do you decide to sell?

Is it a sat, a % of profit, or even a randomly thought up number in your head?

I am new to trading Crypto, but when I traded other stocks, I would aim for a certain percentage.
This seems much easier to hit that percentage, but much more risky.

How do you determine when to let it go?

You can also use percentage here in crypto trading. Depending on your strategy, basis, and the particular coin you are investing on. There are coins whose price target is around 50%, so by the time it reaches 54% and then starts to go down, then perhaps that is enough to sell already. There are also coins that are good for holding some 2 months time so whether the line goes up or down in several percentages, there are no decisions made.
I think the decision of when to sell your Bitcoins lies in the hands of the one who owns those Bitcoins. This is him who has to decide as per his own way of understanding and strategy. I believe whenever you think this is the right time to sell, go for it. You need to make a graph first of how much profit you want to earn.
It is all up to the users whether he will sell or not depending on what percentage does he like to sell it. For a long time investors you must be very biased to what the prices you want to sell because a lot of traders are not likely to be using their mind instead they were feed by their emotions. That's why they yet lose their investments in the process because of panic selling.

I haven't sold my bitcoins yet as its an long term investment for me but I do trade with different altcoins and I sell them when I am in a good position and have decent profits from it as I don't believe in holding altcoins longer as it can be very risky and may bring loss for me.

I selling my coins if the price of its becomes high. I always holding my coins and waiting the right time to sell it. I can say that we all need to do to earn big amount of money is to have a lot of patience.
We should indeed hold our coins until and unless they don’t reach your targeted price. Don’t sell bitcoins I mean not all of them even if they pump hard. Bitcoins are going to make new records in the near future and they are worth holding for long terms. I am not going to sell off my bitcoins at once.

That is one great way of setting selling time. But this technique will not be set in weeks or months. It will highly depend on the movement. Target price may not be reached in a targeted time frame, which will then cause you to extend the time frame so that the next attempt might be successful.
Just dont sell when the price dumps, it mau lose you more when the dump is over and time for pumping. I will not sell mine until it earned again, I doubt when it will increase again but since I don't plan to use it yet, will just hope by the time I need it, it pumps already

I sell my altcoins when I have already made good profits from it as that time holding doesn't make any sense as you may loose all your profits if you don't sell at a right time and buying them back at low price is the best strategy to follow and when it comes to bitcoins I prefer to hold it for a long term.

I sell at regular intervals whenever I get btc and keep in mind x% of profit. Whenever it reaches that I sell of majority of it and keep small as a future investment. Rest all are sold immediately considering the btc price volatility and its future in respective country.

If you are aiming to achieve earning in the way of trading or even doing daily transactions, you must consider on having or setting some plan for you to sell or to buy. Becasue through that way you could earn and have the time to achieve a good profit in the future. Yet for people to do that they must consider learning process for them to achieve and to have the opportunity to earn.

I do sell my altcoins when I already have profits. I don't want to trap specially at the peak. I just do buy at dip, sell at top.. When you trapped at top, very long period of time to get out.. You need patience. Remember, "Patience is a virtue".. Getting a small amount of profit is really big help to you. Even at small amount of profits, you can earn fast through it. Just keep reading, especially reading charts or candles..

I sell when the price is higher than the price when you buy a stock. I sell in small values to ensure an increasing small profit once the price goes higher and higher. Selling all-in could lose your opportunity to get higher profit.

Right it is very important to sell at higher prices to gain more profits. Every trader knows that and I have also accustomed that but unlike you I sell in blocks because based from my own experiences selling little by little had only made me loss huge profit.

I think 5% profit and miss the rest of the 95% increase is better and with the wait to get a 100% profit and risk not getting any because the price has fallen.
I prefer to order more than 3% - 5% depending on the price of that currency

3% increase is really not hard to get with traiding. In fact, you can easily gain 3% in few minutes to an hour depending on where you made your open buy. With this low amount of target gain, you get confident along the way with your trading journey compared to targetting like high percentage and take you several weeks to month to earn and sometimes emotions got you and sell at wrong time and wrng price.

Very nice trick mate, getting what you earn and making and setting your profit limit is a very nice idea since we cannot say the great pump of the bitcoin so I admire this kind of setting, for investment so there is no regret with that. Getting small profit out of small trades also reduces the risk of high loss and it is really good for someone who is not so rich to invest high amount.

I do sell my investments when I reached my target percentage and if its negative i do hold and wait till it rise. Then when i sell it i do reinvest it to earn another profit again.

I sell my bitcoins under only two circumstances either its giving me huge profits on my investments or if I am in urgent need of money and if not I prefer to hold it for a long term and even when I sell I don't sell all of them at  once and always hold some bitcoins for future as price can go much higher in future so saving them for future can be more profitable.
in fact that can be the two reasons for which a person will sell bitcoin, i think people earn bitcoin for making their lives more comfortable, therefore if we feel the need to use bitcoin for some urgent piece of work then we need to use sell bitcoin and use the money for fulfilling our need, and secondly people hold bitcoin for the price increase so as to get good profint, and thereofre if a person feel that he is now getting good profit from bitcoin then he should sell their bitcoin.
