A lot of my altcoins have pumped over the last month or so and it has got me wondering when the best time is to take out initial investment.

Is it too early to take it out once you have doubled your money , is waiting till you have done a 5x or more too greedy?

My best investment so far has been Myria - I got lucky with this one and bought pretty much at the bottom a few months ago and I took my investment out last week once it did a 10x so I am now holding a bag of Myria with no risk.

I have other altcoins I am holding that I am up 3 or 4x on but have not taken profit yet but thinking of doing so , just take my investment out then I am holding more with no risk.

What does everyone else do when it comes to altcoins?
Actually I am not aiming to how many even doubled because I only assume at least 50% in my short term , but in my long term is for double and that is what I am expecting in the next coming halving , I don't want to be greedy nor don't wanted to be a loser.
lets be fair with the market because the market will never bring us more as assurance , try to make your life easier to never expect so much .

Altcoins are very profitable but still I can't give you a specific answer because each altcoin has it's own unique fundamental that makes them grow, I can tell you that Solana will continue to grow as long as the market is bullish because they (team behind new and old FTX) are doing some underground pumping for recovery and stylishly selling them to get back some funds to get the exchange running and some investors are bullish too.

There are some altcoins that are bullish now and even after the bitcoin halving,  they might continue to grow even after that period, you see them do more 10x but that depends on what the team is building behind or built for the people to see, these are the variety of elements that determine the type of growth altcoins will get and the hype that may comes later

There are also some altcoins that may not grow beyond what you have gotten, so do your research since the coins are not public and sell the ones you feel like selling and hold the rest for tomorrow.

Your statement make sense about solana because the pump can be done internally. This can be the exit liquidity the team is trying to get for the fund recovery process of FTX. They are one of the largest sol holder in the market right now and it seems they have some strong backing from the industry otherwise this drastic rally only because of airdrop speculation doesn't make sense. Airdrop doesn't have this much liquidity to pump the price. The sol ecosystem management team has a strong market maker who is pumping the price and late investor can be the victims if there is a crash upcoming.
The best time we can take our profits from trading our investment we have make is whwn we realized that we have made profits from the market. The crypto market is big having thousands of crypto projects and more are still loading. We need to make sure that have made profit from the investment before we have the mindset or selling what we are holding. Crypto market has different ways we can trade it and make profits from the market. We don't have to be roo desperate for us to make profits from the market.

That means you will sell off your 10k worth of crypto even if you make $100 in profits from it? What is the point of risking that much money only to get a 1% return? In my opinion we should let our investment grow as long as the market is strong, the project is doing really well, and they have an active and vibrant community. Crypto is a risky place and altcoin is super-risky and high-rewards investment class. If you are looking for 1% to 10% then you should invest in some stock. In altcoin people are looking for project that can give them multipleX profits.

Take profit when you feel that you have really made profit, do not let greed to stop you or make you think your profit is not enough.  Appreciate the profit you feel it is enough for your investment and don't think you can get the exact profit that you desire.
It is risky waiting so long to get profit, altcoins can't be predicted.  Some Altcoins just have potential of making profit once and not continously.

But most of the time when we hold altcoins longer then we loss the beneficial timing of selling as a result of which we missed that advantageous timing and regret for it. Therefore I just want to say that make a target when you achieve that target then sell your altcoins as it is a worthy decision which every investors should do because altcoins are very much risky.

There is no doubt that usually traders make heavy losses in altcoins compared to Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a large cap crypto currency, secure and decentralized, widely recognized as best instrument for long term investment. This is why its price fluctuation is less and its is considered promising long term investment

In contrast the world of altscoins present a different landscape. Based on my personnel, a strategic approach involves accumulating experience that try to accumulate top 20 alts by using  Dollar Cost Average (DCA) strategy , and continue accumulating them until the early signs of market turnaround become evident, and sell your holdings when bullish market is on its peak. By adhering to this strategy, investors can realize substantial profits in alts investment.

A 5x to 10x profit on an altcoin investment is definitely better than leaving that investment. If I get 2x to 5x profit after holding an altcoin investment I will exit my investment. Because altcoin investing is already extremely risky, even after a 10 to 20% increase, the price will inevitably fall to the bottom, so one should never expect too much from altcoin investing. Those who invest in altcoins with high hopes suffer the most.  OP you did very well selling your investment at 10x profit.

It would be prudent decision to hold altcoins, such as Solana, Chain Link, ADA, DOT and ATOM for long term, particularly post halving  till 2025. Historically, it has been observed that during the halving year, first Bitcoin makes new ATH, subsequently followed by the top 20 alts listed on coinmarketcap, and this bullish market continues for an year or little more. Therefor, to obtain maximum profit from your alts holdings, the best selling time would be when bullish market is approaching its conclusion.

Your mentioned altcoins are profitable and they will show greater growth because of higher demand for it and ability of offering profit. It is also true that when the Bull season of bitcoin passes then there is a Bull season for altcoins which means that we have to hold these coins upto that time.

But most of the time when we hold altcoins longer then we loss the beneficial timing of selling as a result of which we missed that advantageous timing and regret for it. Assessing the risks, adopting a working strategy is the basis for managing your investments, the cryptocurrency market is an extremely unstable place, if you are lucky once, you may not be so lucky the next time. If you were able to generate profit from your initial investment while leaving the remaining capital in the market, this means you are on the right track.

I won't take any further risk once I took.my profit at 10x I might leave my initial investment for more profit especially when there is an upcoming positive Fundamental news like the next upcoming halving of Bitcoin might trigger a massive upsurge in the prices of majority altcoins thus after profit taken my initial investment can thrive with the outcome of the positive event, though at times it can be painful after watching an investment after profit had already been taken and price continue to pump till 20x or more, however price can also move contrary to the targeted profit and reverse or pullback to reduce profit.

Your strategy is very good, adopted by many best traders. The main thing is not to loss because as long as crypto is there the opportunity will come. When token pump to 10x , it's time to exit there and time to take entry in other token which is still down. 20x is not happened with most of the tokens. When there is so many other tokens in the market potential to rise and your token already giving you 10x theb i think waiting for 20x is just taking an unnecessary risk. We should be content with less profit without taking big risk. I myself take profit when I believe that the token almost reached to peak position.

I can only have peace of mind to hold any cryptocurrency for a long time if it's Bitcoin, perhaps a very few top altcoins like Ethereum. For others I'd have a time frame to sale, especially if they pumped, I'd sale the worth of my investment capital and put it in Bitcoin, then I'll leave the rest there and if it pumps withing my time frame again, I'll still remove and reinvest in Bitcoin. This is because I don't trust most altcoins, so if they diminish in value, I'll not be I'll not be affected. Instead of leaving all my money in one altcoin, the moment it pumps, I'll surely remove my capital, either reinvest it in Bitcoin, or look for another altcoin to buy, the idea is not to have too much investment in one altcoin.
You might be aware of the high volatility rate and a lot of factors which can affect its value but you already saw its past performance and believes that it will always be like this. So, you end up with a conclusion that Bitcoin is the safest crypto among all. Okay that's cool. To have an addition isn't always bad especially if it's also like a Bitcoin. You already said it there (Ethereum).

A pump is a pump, and it should be the time for selling all of our cryptocurrencies. But, you are right that not all are worthy to re-invest again. Poor quality altcoin won't only diminished in value but they'll be gone permanently later on, as crypto exchanges are going to de-list them.

Emotions run high when trading, it’s important to check one’s own emotions when making trade decisions. In your case, it’s obvious your greed is driving you to want more profits. When in a winning position, traders often lose their fear of losing and become overconfident in their trading plan. You forget altcoins are volatile and are often not worth hodling for long term.
Well, I think a lot of people are like that. when they have made a lot of profit, they expect more profit, in fact I often think like that when I am profitable.
However, securing the capital we have is the most important thing. If someone has earned their capital when trading, then they can try to make as much money as possible without fear of loss. however, selling some is not a bad thing. However, it all depends on the person's decision. If he targets big profits, then that is the decision he chooses, and he must be ready to accept every risk.
What I usually do is withdraw my capital and let my profit become a new investment capital. Once I secure my capital, I keep it rolling and withdraw when I already have earned a lot. That is likely a crazy thing to do but in the world of investment, we should be practical and keep on our plan. It is not like we are avoiding risk but it was a smart idea because greedy people most of them fail and lose great opportunities. We don't want it to happen which is why we have anticipated the market before it will be going late.

When you have a price target and this reach, sell it because you know you have a sure-ball profit. Now it's up to you if you want to adjust your holding of the coins you hold if you think you know they still have something to raise in the market.

As long as, no matter what happens, you stick to your goal and target the price you want to sell your holdings, you need to discipline yourself in this regard as a crypto holder.

I think if someone plans to invest then he must have deep knowledge about the market. Altcoins are risky in long term and short term investments if the correct position of the market is not understood in time. Many investors get greedy after getting profit and then they leave it without closing. This makes it more likely to be cheated. Market research should be done to know when there is high profit potential in the market and when it is appropriate.

Congratulations! I think I will be consulting you henceforth for my investment advice on the crypto assets to buy...lol. However, your questions are not easy to answer because investment liquidation doesn't have a single answer/advice, which is why you need to decide on what you really want with them. It is good that you are not at a loss, so if you gain a little, you can be contented if you are some kind person, but some people have the risk affinity, and this doesn't mean they are greedy. Also, as per the rule, the more your risks, the more your gains, and this could earn them even x100 if they can wait longer. This is why I will advise you to consider the following in liquidating your positions:

1. You may want to liquidate if the crypto assets have reached x2, x3, x4 and so on. This depends on your risk affinity.
2. Have your investment goals and plans in line with the prospect of the crypto asset even before you buy it. By this, you would have done
your research to know what will happen in the future, so this will help you to plan correctly on the buying and the liquidation time.
3. Consider the bullish and bearish seasons of the asset. You can wait for the assets to have their major bearish season to liquidate them.
4. Finally, use the higher timeframe of your technical chart to make the best possible decisions about your investmenet.

Ok I think taking that amount fo profit isn't greedy or impatient after all, it's altcoin we are talking about. Taking profit from an altcoin after you are satisfied from the return it gave you is something that should be appreciated, besides we don get to see this kind of offers everyday. Some altcoins aren't that good for long term holding, but when talk about Bitcoin, if you withdrew your profit from it within just the 2 months period then, that is a greedy investors because you might not see that price again after you think you have out smart the network. for those who trade with Bitcoin, it would be better to leave your holding til after th halving and the bull run before you sell
