Sometimes the advise we give ourselves is always the best because no matter what we all say here it's what you decide that ends the game. So if you know too well that you have gotten at least more than what you invested then you should think of taking off the profit just as one of us suggested that you take the profit and leave the capital to grow if it grows then it has brought you more favour or if it goes the opposite you have achieved to and extent.

Instead of letting greedy consume your investment take what you see first and wait for the later opportunity to come. One big thing about Altcoins is that it can pump so big in a short period of time and at the same time frame hit the rock bottom. It means Altcoins are not trust worth for long term investment.

Determining when to recoup the investment during the period of profit should be determined through strategic planning and consideration of financial goals. Since every investment is made for profit, before entering the market, the investment objective and target should be clearly defined. If your investment reaches a consistent profit then the investment return must be taken considering the current market conditions. Market conditions, potential future fundamental trends and other external relevant factors may lead to market volatility. If there is a problem in the market due to strategic reasons then it should be ensured that the adjustment is complete with the risk tolerance. It is very important to regularly review the market and observe the overall condition while investing.

A lot of my altcoins have pumped over the last month or so and it has got me wondering when the best time is to take out initial investment.
Haven't any goal in your mind when you start buying coins? If your profit plan already achieved than it is good time to withdraw investment+ some profit and hold some portion if you believe the chances of price is still possible.

Is it too early to take it out once you have doubled your money , is waiting till you have done a 5x or more too greedy?
If token potential has only 2x with less volatility then 2x is enough and if your purchased tokens have still high potential to increase further to 5x then withdraw capital and keep other for 5x . Remember one thing that not every token will give you 5x profit. The average profit for the most coins are 2x-3x. I think 3x is enough for you for safe investment.

I think with your investment in altcoin not really worth waiting most higher price or expected until x10 for taking profit, never be greedy when trading in altcoin depend has moment take profit better do it and don't wait for raising most higher price again. You can try with another way if your target price raise more than x10 sell half or 30% and left than 70% hold and it and waiting potential will raise to higher price or not. I have experienced with altcoin trading but never expected more bigger profitable above x10 and usually taking profit around x2 is enough than have loss all when price drastically dump.

Don't make your opportunity loss all since have chance to get profit exactly your altcoin holding have been on higher price, you can buy back later if get bottom price.

Greed is taking over you. You want more and I don't blame you for that since cryptocurrencies are mostly about that.
But you said it was 2x. Now, check how much you made. Was it worth it if you withdrew now? Will it be a satisfying move? Those are the questions that only you can answer and not us. Even if we know the history of a coin that you invested there's no assurance that it could grow more to x5 or x10. We don't have the crystal ball to see the future, we are just the same investors here who are expecting a miracle to happen.
Do remember though, altcoins are not Bitcoin. There's a high chance your portfolio is growing because of the pump of Bitcoin so it doesn't mean they are gaining value on their own. Bitcoin may pump after ETF approval but it won't mean that the same goes for other coins in the market.
If you want, you can stick with Bitcoin or Ethereum because both are aiming high. There may not be an x5 or x10 but the risk is lower than expecting something from altcoins.
Don't be consumed by your greed and if ever you make a choice, don't regret it. I suggest not looking back once your settled on selling them.

A lot of my altcoins have pumped over the last month or so and it has got me wondering when the best time is to take out initial investment.

Is it too early to take it out once you have doubled your money , is waiting till you have done a 5x or more too greedy?

My best investment so far has been Myria - I got lucky with this one and bought pretty much at the bottom a few months ago and I took my investment out last week once it did a 10x so I am now holding a bag of Myria with no risk.

I have other altcoins I am holding that I am up 3 or 4x on but have not taken profit yet but thinking of doing so , just take my investment out then I am holding more with no risk.

What does everyone else do when it comes to altcoins?
x5 or more in altcoins is not impossible when it comes to altcoins. However, in terms of making a profit, it's all up to you what would be your target profit. When investing in altcoins, you should always set a target price of when you should take your profit, by either selling all your holdings or selling only half until you reach your target price.

Most of it I plan to take profit after even a 2%-5% increase. Anything beyond that is me forgetting I invested in the first place. That's for short term ones though, for long term ones I usually wait at least until it doubled then decide from there whether I still continue or not. In cases where I DCA though, I just determine a period where I think the market has peaked after a couple of years of DCA'ing and then decide from there, which is what I'm going to do with Bitcoin.

Please remember that a greedy person indeed up almost nothing and misses some great opportunity.
If I were you, sell some of your altcoins while it is in the pump condition and reinvest the profit while keeping your capital for another investment. We don't need to wait until the price starts to dump because in just a few hours it is possibly on the bottom already.

For a few years in the crypto market, I've already experienced this thing. I'd never sell because I was looking for more but unfortunately, when I woke up early in the morning the price dropped more than 50%. Regrets and so I don't let it happen again.

We are in the early stages of the bull run and it is too early to sell off your portfolio if you were accumulating those in the bear market. If your plan was to hold those altcoins until the next bull season then one thing you can do is remove your seed money from those investments and let the profit grow. In that way if that project drops in value or anything unexpected happens your seed money will be saved and also you can reinvest those money into other project that has the potential to grow in the next bull run.

When it comes to altcoins, I usually take the profit along with selling all the altcoins I have once the price increases drastically like last time. Because if you don't do that, you won't really get another chance to see that price because many others also sell their altcoins and they won't hesitate to do it once they see it all green. I am one of them because I am not an extreme risk taker who might gonna wait for more days to sell it, as soon as I see that I managed to make a profit, I'm fine with that I don't care anymore whatever the outcome of my decision after that as long as I got my earnings.

Firstly you know what to do with your investment, if your plan is to double and expect for another ATH that's your choice but in my opinion there's no need being too smart with your altcoin cause when dealing with altcoins you just need to be wise and follow the market rather than investing in long term, it's always advisable to choose bitcoin for long term to avoid loss, how do you know if those coins will reach ATH and when will that happen, in altcoin investment I believe more in luck and chance rather than taking risk so I will prefer to take advantage of the market, your strategy might be different from mine but in all make sure you make profit from your investment when the market is profitable.

Actually, I feel like the OP only has short-term FOMO and has not researched the strategy or goals of the profit-taking plan from the beginning, and when there are profits, how can you get profits is too complicated ?
I suggest a strategy with limited things and especially with low value cryptos, which is to lock in the principal and retain the profits. If they belong to cryptos with development potential, then confidently keep them until the hype gets even bigger. But not sure what your initial capital investment is, because there will be an assessment of the risk to manage them. But anyway, congratulations on making profits through buying crypto.

The better timing to take economic gain is that if the price of invested token inflate and become able to give you profit then sell it without thinking of future because there are so many people who are considering that the price will show more multiplication but regrettably they loss a big amount. Beside Bitcoin if anyone leave their altcoin even he is in profit then this will be his big mistake.

In a case of altcoins if you find a certain upswing in any altcoin then immediately sell that coin because many altcoins if once elevated in price never attain the exact amount again in their life Span. Setting a goal or target a price will always be helpful because if you are in patience for more upswing then may be your altcoin decreases suddenly to become invaluable forever.

Stick to your initial target, because usually investors will set a target when starting to invest, whether 5x 10x and so on, and if you have achieved what was targeted then take the profit without having to feel regret if the price continues to rise above the target that has been set, or sell it gradually and for Myria coins, because you have made a profit, leave it for a while still continuing to pay attention to price movements, If it starts to decline, selling it all would be better because altcoin market conditions will change very quickly, coins that have value today could be worthless in a another day.

Currently, I also have assets that have risen several times, but I am still holding them and waiting for higher prices. This might be called greedy, but I would probably sell it when I know that the halving is still a long way off. However, considering that the halving will occur next year, and may have a positive effect on crypto prices, I decided to hold, and continue to add to the assets I currently own.

It is important that before you purchase the altcoins you are interested in as an investment, you already have a plan in place. One aspect of this plan is having set selling target price points for profit or, alternatively, for a stop loss. It is crucial to stick to your plan and keep going regardless of what happens. Refrain from blaming yourself if the price takes a different direction after you sell. The market can be unpredictable, so it is necessary to manage the risks it carries through careful planning effectively.

well if you did not have any prior plans or goals before you made profit it’s understandable if you are caught up in a turmoil now altcoins can decrease in price very quickly and you could lose the profit you have already made if you don’t act accordingly my rule is usually when i start thinking that i have made profit then it is enough and i just follow my instinct of course the decision will be yours because this is your money we’re talking about if you really feel that it might still go up but you’re scared to risk the profit you’ve made then just leave a percent of your money in it something you won’t feel that bad about if you were to ever lose it

When I already have 4x profits. So usually I will just take my capital first (sell for the initial capital) and leave the rest until the bullrun comes higher. But everyone definitely has their own way. Because sometimes being too greedy is not always profitable. But sometimes greed can also make us lucky when the coins we hold tightly keep climbing higher.

In such situations, you should have a target for how much you want to get. And when you reach that, take out the profit you got, and then it's up to you if you leave the amount you started there again.

At least this way, what you do is systematic. It's difficult because the one you hold is only on standby on the exchange platform. And then maybe later on, instead of having an income, you will lose it in the end because it has been dumped again.

If we are talking about just an altcoin that I do not trust that much, when it doubles I take the initial investment out, and keep the other half. That way, if I invest 1000 into something, when it reaches to 2000, I take out 1000 so I got my money back, and then the rest sits there for a time longer, when I get out changes on how it moves, if it goes even higher then I keep holding it, but when it starts to fall I start selling it.

However, that is only with alts that I do not trust, stuff like bitcoin, ethereum, bnb and the likes stay, I am not selling them at all, I am going to keep holding them until I die if I can, or until there is an emergency in the family which there usually is something and I try to take care of it. I believe that alts that are dangerous that we invest should be things that we look to get out as quickly as possible and sometimes we do achieve that but sometimes we can't really do it and that's the most important difference to everyone.
