You already can use it to buy things online. If the website doesn't accept Bitcoin, just get a Bitcoin debit card and add it to your paypal account. That's what I do.

I'm not sure about what op wants to say but as we all know bitcoin is already used the last 5-6 years for online purchases, what we need most is more "real life" stores (restaurants, super markets etc.) that accept bitcoin.

I think it is already happening, I've been several times to give stuff online with bitcoin. even from bitcointalk I've been many times for using bitcoin especially digital goods. so yes bitcoin can be used to buy goods online. Im from Indonesia, so if you have trouble buying goods online there with bitcoin, maybe you can visit sites selling in Indonesia. Thank you

If you have coins.ph wallet, you can use your wallet now to buy things on amazon with a 10% off. Also there are many features on coins.ph wallet to use like you can now book your flight on different airlines and you can also book hotels around the world on expedia.
Wow, Coins.ph have many featured payment options, it's amazing.
I first heard about coins.ph and it looks interesting. because I never heard wallet with many featured payments like coins.ph.

Frankly speaking I don't want bitcoin to become another payment processor like paypal or perfectmoney to help you buy things online. Bitcoin is a life changing innovation. With its power, you can achieve your dreams. Don't waste your bitcoins by buying silly things online. Instead save it for future.

If you still wish to buy things online, use your fiat currency and not bitcoin.

More and more online sites will start accepting bitcoin but the question is, "are you ready to participate in this?"

Without sufficient users, it will be difficult for these sites to survive just by accepting bitcoins.
hat's right, as time goes by bitcoin will always thrive in our community and maybe directly proportional the increases online store can accept bitcoin become one of their payment.

I think you haven't checked the internet, purchasing with bitcoin online is already available in the Philippines though it wasn't widely used coz of the the limited BTC users, but little by little Coins.ph campaign on reaching out people to use bitcoin is somehow succesful.  I suggest that you check https://coins.ph and register there to check and use their services, they even have list of merchants where you can use BTC as payment.

Currently bitcoin is only practical for buying things online that you can't buy with fiat. Not until community focuses more on payroll integration will this change.

Hmm. I thought the Philippines was one of the premier league Bitcoin hotspots. Or maybe it is and the OP needs to look a little closer. I've no idea.
Well even if it is a hotspot man there are only few stores that accepts bitcoin and it is not convenient for us to buy at amazon because it will go trough the tough inspection of customs that will take a long time. Although it would be easier to buy when lazada starts to accept bitcoin as payment so it will be convenient for us to buy anything online.  Grin Maybe we can easily trade it to airtime, it is also easier to convert it to fiat, but it is hard for some of us to buy things online.

You can already buy (almost) anything that you want using Bitcoin. It comes down to where you live, and from where you want to buy. A perfect example would be Amazon: Even though Amazon does not accept Bitcoin, there are plenty of people (on the forum) and some services (e.g. gyft) that enable you to buy Amazon gift cards and buy items from it.

If you mean mainstream adoption (whatever that means), I'd say it'll happen only if there's enough people who have some sort of income in bitcoins (either main or secondary).
As far as the online retailers are concerned, primarily Amazon and Ebay are missing(the rest would likely follow their steps).
To be completely fair, it would be much better if you could just pay with Bitcoin directly on Amazon, but in the meantime gift cards are an option.

But in my country (Belgium) it's already possible to buy food through pizza.be with bitcoin and it has been an option for almost 2 years now. They have websites for other European countries, but don't know if it's possible to pay with Bitcoin on those.
Note that this is a very popular service here and they have a Bitcoin logo on their front page and you pay no fees as opposed to paying through Paypal.

It's already available. Not in so many stores and services that people would like to but the list of available online stores is spreading each day. I think that here on forum was also published the list of stores that accept Bitcoins. Although the risk for merchants who accept Bitcoins is much bigger the for others whow make business only with fiat money.
