ethereum will take years to reach the top and defeat bitcoin or even can't be the same because indeed bitcoin is the mother of all altcoins and tokens, etehreum and others are trying to get past bitcoin but it is not as easy as we imagine. by creating a network of ERC20 ethereum still not able to surpass bitcoin because the erc20 is still not perfect and they need to perfect it
The ETH has a direct dependence on the price from Bitcoin and in I do not see how they can become number 1 at the current level of their technology. They are losing popularity quite fast.
I'm investing in ETH and BTC, both will increase then I would be happy.
However the question is so ambitious, ETH to take the no. 1 spot in the market will give a boom to the ICO project that has not increase lately.

In fact, ETH still depends on lots of Bitcoin and many other reasons why ETH will never be able to achieve the number 1 position in this market. I often monitor the value of both of these coins because it is very volatile and concludes that ETH is really not as good as it used to be and could collapse at any time. At this time, the BTC has no competitors but in the future there will be another coin that will compete for 1st place of Bitcoin and will change this whole market in the future. I don't think Bitcoin would be useless and antique as what you imagine. Bitcoin is known to be an independent coin and it has passed all the tests of time. It has been through a lot so I guess no coin even Ethereum could take over it that easy.
If ever bull run would happen, I'm sure that bitcoin would rise and would get a promising value.

If this happens, it will not be soon. While Bitcoin confidently holds the position of the leader of cryptocurrency and we see that now its level of capitalization is growing. However, in the future such a turn of events is not excluded. However, I think that the next cryptocurrency leader will no longer completely dominate the cryptocurrency market. Most likely, there will be several leaders at once and they will periodically replace each other. This will mean that there will be no hard price dominance in the market and the cryptocurrency will gain relative price freedom.
It's never possible because ETH is losing its market to some other projects. On the other hand, ETH has an infinitive supply which may cause huge deflation in the near future.

Not so fast dude. Bitcoin is antique but a lot of investors are pouring money on it. Why because it is still the best eventhough it has lots of problem, like high fees and slow confirmations (although it has improved alot). Plus, when the supply is running out, specially next block halving, the more people will demand of it, causing the price to spike in the next couple of years.
While ETH has lots of competitors, like NEO,EOS, XRP, which makes it difficult to even challenge bitcoin's dominance at this point.
it won't be possible, in 2020 it won't be long before even the price of ethereum and bitcoin has a great distance. even jini ethereum still follows the price of bitcoin so if bitcoin goes down, ethereum if it falls too. therefore I am very unsure if in the near future ethereum will replace the position of bitcoin.
what is the basis of your predictions for making such topics. 2020 BTC will always survive. 4 million BTC left. and BTC supplies cannot run out quickly. yes. 2020 ETH value on the market will increase. but it cannot exceed the market value of BTC.
Ethereum will never be number 1, if there not was bitcoin created there i think now one think to create new crypto coins, and bitcoin will always have higher value than other coins, because most of people use bitcoin, and bitcoin is the number 1 because all altcoins are trade on pair with.
Sorry friend, but I don't think Ethereum will be able to shift bitcoin from the top position because from some sides bitcoin is superior to ethereum. Including in terms of price and popularity.

You missed the 2017 Flippening boards. So many old bitcointalk members just disappeared, others even deleted their posts, now nobody talks about anything like that anymore. Because it will never happen. More important, it doesn't even matter anymore. If BTC becomes #2 or #20, but it's overtaken by something really dumb like XRP, what's the point anymore?
No altcoin can be replace the bitcoins position because all altcoin price is related to bitcoin not in ETH and most of the altcoin is BTC pair in most of the exchanges so it's impossible that ETH will be number even in next year it's impossible to happen.
I'm sure eth will be below top 10 because most of the profit is from miners and I'm sure there are lots of miner holding ETH so just wait to all miner to sell their own and I'm sure the price of ETH will become cheap as tether.

This is never going to happen. ETH has plenty of other coin platforms growing fast to take market share from it but there is only one bitcoin and it will remain the king.
