Prize sent! https://blockchain.info/tx/78f4158e065cb5450762f8533a6dfcbb2c611f7ec74f5f32eccf8fe88d30d51c

Again my apologies for the delay, the Hannah fund I set up to hopefully pay the college fees of a good friend's kid, she lost her dad in a tragic accident a couple of years ago & there wasn't really any/much compensation or insurance. I ended up being the main contributor to it and as I was an early backer of Litecoin especially it has done quite well so far, but every donation to it is both important & very good karma imo, also much appreciated as well of course.

Hi Otoh,

I think I have already said over and over again how shocked I was to see this contest end in November.  I thought my Christmas 2013 guess was wildly optimistic.   It is impossible to overestimate what can happen to the price of bitcoin.

Thank you once more for running this contest.

For those who are interested, I expect that most of this money will eventually be used to pay off my very modest student loan and to pay for my daughter's future tuition.  If I find a more photogenic use, I will try to post it here.

Please believe me when I say that I am way more excited about this than I seem in print.  I am not very good a putting emotions into text form.   Cheesy  Grin  Cheesy

Book keeping:

Please send the prize to:  1CKwgmuApW8nSt4FQzrfduvxbc6k7S1uzj

I have agreed to pass 0.5 bitcoins along to dipsy, although that number seems higher today for some reason than it did when I made the promise.  Dipsy, if the address you gave me is no longer valid please let me know asap.

I expect to make a small contribution to Hannah's fund, but I need to discuss it with my family first.  Perhaps you could send me a PM with a thumbnail sketch of what the fund is for.  I am reading between the lines on the site, but it isn't very clear to me.  It looks like any contribution I could make would be pretty small compared to the fund's litecoin holdings.

"Public Note: 2013 11 30, 2013 12 27, 2014 06 17, 2014 10 02, 2015 06 17, 2016 06 17 -- Equus This kind of disrupts all the monthly block-guessing, but I just realized that each ticket to this game is costing me $10. Thanks for the fun."

Equus 0.06 btc paid (on 2013 10 29), added now. I'll keep a better eye on the blockchain from now on.

Nice choices, makes it more interesting, good luck!

I think that you guys are all agreed that this was the winning entry, I haven't had a chance to check the numbers so I will just pay the full balance in https://blockchain.info/address/1ThousandAF3VeVnQtteX6htvjZoREs35 as planned, which is 5.41 BTC which even with the dip is $4,600 worth. If there are any discrepancies with the amount in the address then please to let me know & I'll rectify it.

Equus, if you're feeling charitable & generous with your new found coins, then any donation however small to my charity fund is always most appreciated, more details here:

https://sites.google.com/site/hannahlogo/home

Please confirm where to send the prize, sorry if you have already in the thread, I assume it will be your entry sending address, many thanks.

Tomorrow.

Edit on December 7:  Hmmm... maybe this was a little over-optimistic.  Let's say March.

No worries.

The delay has been very healthy for me.

For one thing, it guaranteed that I couldn't panic-sell my prize the day after I won it.  (Something I promise not to do regardless of how tonight's "double top" turns out.)

Best to take your time and make sure things are right.

I intend to get this checked & the winnings sent before the weekend, there seems no doubt that Equus won it, I'd just like to look back through it all first & make sure that I haven't missed anything & that the correct coins are on the 1Thousand address exactly before sending, again my apologies for the delay - I've never had so little free time as now, though that's no bad thing - far from it, just needing to deal with critical things first.

Thank you.   I am still trying not to count my chickens before they are in my cold storage... or something like that.

It was pretty impressive to watch what bitcoin did in November.  I feel like I watched history being made, and to say that I predicted it would be laughable.

Again, my apologies for not having completed this, I'm on my final days now of travel & hectic biz, it's on the long to do list when things are more settled in the first week of December, it seems very sure now that Equus won with the help of BTC-China, I'd also just like to check that the balance in the 1Thousand address is correct, as I slipped up once & had to correct it, if anyone else could double check it then I could complete quickly & many thanks to those who confirmed Equus's win, much appreciated.

I was pretty surprised that this contest finished a week and a half early.  I totally expected that the top three volume exchanges would only get to $1000 in the last days of November.

I'm a little surprised it's held up since peaking on BTCChina before. Great news for everyone, Bitcoin must be in some strong hands.
