I think we need to decide now, whether it is $500 or $750. Rules must be clear.
My proposal is $750.
(Bitcoin's average growth rate is 0.65% per day and using this average, it takes 44 days from $750 to $1000.)

Thanks for the input, I'll go with whatever most participants recommend, yep $750 is still plenty far enough away from $1000 to be an OK cut off point, I don't see that it needs to be set in stone as early as possible as people can continue to choose further dates as it goes along & all money in the pot goes to the eventual winner, maybe I've missed why it would be better to decide on this early - if so please let me know anyone who prefers that.
I guess it would matter if the price went from $200-ish to $400 plus really fast, then sure it would be best to decide on the cut off level, I think we still have a while though, ie no dates from 2013 picked so far..

It seems that all is well with the date allocations, after getting some advice I have now removed the cut off date for entries & changed it to a BTC price one, but this remains flexible & it will be up to those who participate to decide how long they wish it to be open for further entries, in any case good notice will be given.

What if the trades are occurring though a trust?
OK, thought some more, if the trust or fund has the highest volume on that day & the trade is public, then yes that would definitely count, I've added that to the OP, many thanks for the suggestion.
Edited OP to add: See jimbobway's post, also if a trust or fund, ETF etc, (like WBT or BIT), even an FBI auction for that matter, if it has the highest volume on the day & the trade is public (Bloomberg terminals count), then yes that would definitely be OK.
