not in a very very x99 long time; thats for sure. It would take time for technologically illiterate people to understand bitcoin.
If when you say international currency, you mean replacing dollar, then the answer is that it is going to be a long time. But I think much of the road has already been traveled.
Of course it's not that easy to happen, but it's something possible, especially because of the potential of btc and the benefits it can bring to people, changing the way money is transferred through the world...
Very well said. Not so soon but it could possibly happen because bitcoin is becoming more and more popular with people around the world. Many people now discovers the importance of bitcoin and how people can have some profit through it. It will take the world for about 40 to 50 years from now or earlier. Who knows?!

To be honest, I already see it as an international currency. I just hope more people accepted it. Whenever I have to send small amount of money say below 500$< I try and get the other person to accept bitcoin and make the deal through it. Its much simpler than paypal and all which require a very large fee.
before internationaly, I think bitcoin need to be recognized by some countries to be their nationality currency. and it will take a long time. Just hope bitcoin will be recognized of all people and the price will goes up, so i'm not loss in trading hihi 
Bitcoin is not need for recognizing and bitcoin it's already an international currency in this time, in fact like this forum already represents a lot of countries in the world and I can expect if bitcoin is already been international currency but without any regulate for that, just like a natural.
I'm firmly sure in 20 years bitcoin will be the most popular currency in the world. 
i think bitcoin is already an international currency because bitcoin are available in every corner of the world and bitcoin are getting too much popular and people are adopting bitcoin in huge amount and bitcoin is very useful currency.
From what we can decide that some currency became international? From the moment when it started to be used in some countries, in many countries. Bitcoin is used in all the world and that happen from the beginning, So bitcoin is international currency from the beginning.
It's near to impossible because no country will accept bitcoin as international currency because each country have their own currency and they will definitely want to make their own currency as international currency. And bitcoin is not that legal that all country will accept the coin as international currency.
I guess countries would accept bitcoin as an international currency if they see some great potential and advantages because countries would surely choose a currency that is most profitable or better for them so if bitcoin can reach that place it would probably get accepted as an international currency.
Maybe we will see this soon, cause i heard somewhere that Japan want to accept bitcoins as legal currency, but anyway nowdays it's still banned somewhere
Not sure if it's banned there, but with respect to becoming an international currency, we are certainly on the way for that to happen, but I believe that we have almost a decade to go before the btc becomes a form of payment used by almost everyone, across the globe. Well dollars its recognized as international currencie, bitcoin is present at almost all countries if not all, the thing is the countries should recognize it as investment like gold and silver markets, soo as a stok and not a currencie.

I have seen this thread a couple of times now and I just cannot ignore the fact of how clueless some people might be about Bitcoin. The fact that you are asking when Bitcoin will become an international currency is wrong. It is already international and borderless the minute it was born. Even if most governments refuse to acknowledge it and the fact that the regulators have no solid idea how to control it means that it is not meant to be just another ordinary "currency" to be used by the mainstream. It will take a special group of people to have interest to understand it and really know it. The initial interest will be for profit but you know when the bug has bitten you because you are now trying to read and understand satoshi's white paper.
To understand Bitcoin and appreciate it, is also to deeply understand what money is

Perhaps btc can be already considered as an international cryptocurrency. Anyone can use it over the world, and there's already a lot of people using it daily. The problem is that the number is not that high compared to the use of fiat money.
And in fact, the bitcoin system is so far from can apply in real life, and we don't need for talking about the bitcoin and fiat currency caused they're already having a different purpose. and in fact, the value of bitcoin is related to the fiat currency.
BTC's an international currency now! International people use it, but it could be used much more if it was easier, much easier for travelers to exchange BTC with the local fiat currency.
No doubt BTC is now growing internationally ,the only thing is that we people having responsibility to explore the image, worth, future ,belief,technology ,profitability about BTC among whole world ,finally we grow rich.

My take is that it will never happen within this decade or even our generation. In order for a fiat currency to be known as the world's currency, it takes a lot of time and hard work. To add on, Bitcoin is a new form of currency, it is digital unlike the traditional fiat. Unless the world suddenly realize the power of technology, there is no way that Bitcoin will make itself the world's currency in our generation.
