well it is a choice, if you do your research well then you will discover if the coin is a good one or not, problem with people is that, they always going for gain without making necessary research, you will see an ICO that will promise 100% and people will rush into it, when it hit the exchange and perform low, they will start complaining, the best thing to do, research on projects before you join their ICO or airdrop
Most people are living with misconceptions about the entire crypto market because they thrive on news the media and governments present. Very few people take their time to dig deep and research into crypto in order to ascertain the truth. It will take time for the mass to adopt this trend of personally learning about crypto.
Greed and laziness to research I'd say is the leading causes of why these things happens all the time to people, One must be cautious whenever they see any project that promises profits that's just too much and they should really research into great details before they invest into any venture. 
I think people who lower scamming projects by not learning ico are good and they don't want to buy, because in my opinion they feel afraid to take a risk. maybe they think that ico is not much different from gambling that has a high risk. they prefer to buy potential coins. even though not all ico are scamming. but when we can learn about good ico, we might get a big profit. everything that has a big risk, surely there is a big advantage in it too. in my opinion, people will soon learn when they realize that trading with ico, one can get a big income.

It's not that I disagree with most posters in this thread saying that the vast majority of new ICO projects are either scams from the very beginning or for reasons beyond their control never make it to an exchange, but I want to say a few words in defense of projects you've mentioned in the selected text above. If a coin/token makes it to an exchange and get pumped for 2 hours, or sometimes it's 2 days, that's not actually that bad. You just have to sell it in due time and this can provide you with good profits in some cases.

I think it is because of the exclusiveness of crypto to everyone. Anyone regardless of their age, gender and race can invest and earn from bitcoin and from these comes those who are not knowledgeable enough for crypto and they are those who carelessly join ICO that obviously looks like about to fail. There is a saying that a fool at forty is a took forever. Anyone who allows himself to be scammed through this cheap means may never be reasonable.
Life must be a lot of learning and always learning is very important for success, in investment there are certainly many things that can be used as lessons, when the market drop then we can get many lessons

they will learn when they receive a king of mistake that they know how to overcome it so therefore they realize that they need to be a serious in what situation and focus on what they have
well. you are so correct. it is because people are lazy. they prefer to listen people and shilling fake accounts instead of making their own research. and ofcourse if they buy what is shilled they lost all of their money to scams.
I think that we already learned all necessary things - just look at the situation with ICOs now, promises don't work no more, what to say about airdrops...
Will people are learning and they know that if they quit on investing in bitcoin then definitely they will loss in this kind of investment. However, they did not because the learning they get is to invest more bitcoin when market price is down and sell when market price is high. This is how they see their investment. Definitely this is one of the best learning that one should learn.
People still patronizing those scams project because of the profit that at least can get. Even already experience of scam still people joined those airdrop and invest in a certain project. We should be learned and has a wise moved in investing in crypto.
This is the very wish of most crypto experts, thus to see many newbies or users of crypto learn and become well inclined with the Blockchain technology and the entire crypto market. Due to lack of knowledge, most investors fall as prey to scam projects, FUD etc.
Greed for money will take over a person at some point of time/particular time and that is reason people make mistakes.

Some people will never learn. They get swindled from time to time in their bid to get rich quickly. Virtually all this airdrop promising outrageous gains are scam and people have to learn to avoid them. Apart from loosing your money, they also use it to harvest your data.

I don't understand the material presented. but it would be nice for you to share the knowledge you have with us.
People learn from their past mistakes, but not all, because in this kind of investment we should study and research carefully if we were going to invest in any projects that related in crypto since 90% of the ICO's are failed or turn out into a scammed projects.
When you built a company, you would need to upgrade and work every week or every month on the project of your business. The technology business is exactly like the NOKIA example. NOKIA had a huge share in the market back in the early 2000. They had these simple mobile phones but they kept on working in the same project without updating it. This led to the fall of the company as iPhone and Samsung emerged and introduced smart phones. Same is the case in crypto. You have to work constantly on your business plans to get things moving or you might loose big. So yes people should research to know more and more.
