Yeah even i have experienced same thing, when i am searching in online i find lot of exchanges that exchanging from our local currency to bitcoin , but the price of those are very high, and when i go through the reviews, i felt it was a bad idea of exchanging with those exchanges.

Always check reviews. Almost all users who offer a large conversion rate are likely to be scam,

Buying bitcoins in sites that sells bitcoin online is risky in my opinion, because you might get scammed, most of the time it happens. I think it would be better if you would buy bitcoin in someone you knew that earn bitcoin or you can also ask a friend of yours if he knew someone that sells bitcoin, I think that is more assuring for you not to be scammed. Since you are still a newbie here, keep on posting and get your account rank raised into another rank is another option too for you to join signature campaigns and start to earn bitcoin so that you don't need to buy anymore.

Yes, coinbase should be the best platform to buy bitcoin. So far it has been the best and safest exchanger, it recently added support for use of credit card and paypal account to the existing bank deposits it accepts before. Hence, you can just go there and get the best rate.

Its actually localbitcoins.com but not localbitcoins.info, but you are right that its really a great platform for trading bitcoins on really good rates, i'm not sure about buying from there as never did it but i use to sell my bitcoins from there and never had any problems yet, really smooth transactions.
