I think there's an exchange website that accept credit card or if you have paypal and you want to exchange currency into bitcoin then simple visit this thread. Currency Exchange but be careful sometimes there are lots of newbies scammers since it's near for christmas.

but you can find and post to section curency exchange in bitcointalk forum or you can buy in localbitcoin dot com

Yes currency exchange section sometime it has big percentage but some of them are doing 1:1 trading but be careful trading someone sometimes you really can save fee's but you will get scammed in the end

As a beginner, only to make the first buy it seems to be little difficult for you. So for the first time you could try with localbitcoins, because it gives access to different traders who accept payment in different forms. You can go with one that you're convenient.

I suggest you to use coinbase.com i friend and i is already done this before and then coinbase is really good the support are awesome they can really reply fast when you have some question about buying bitcoin regarding credits cards.

You can check on localbitcoins some seller who lives in your city and then give him cash and buy the bitcoins, simple ? Because you can cash from cards.
