I've ordered silver from Provident Metals in the past, and I found them to be reliable, and they sell gold as well.  Their selection kind of leaves a lot to be desired, but if you're looking for just bullion they've definitely got it.  I was going to order from them a few days ago but changed my mind and decided to hold onto my bitcoin--then btc tanked to <$400 and now I just want to hang onto it and wait for a rebound.

Provident Metals is respected name in gold dealing biz
Ordered gold Pandas from them - got it in time with no problems

I don't know where you could buy gold for Bitcoin. It is definitely not safe to get it shipped though.
You are wrong. Ship logistics are trust worthy. You can completely have trust over the seller an be in contact with him. everything works good. Now only I heard about buying physical gold with bitcoin. I think it will be less expensive to buy with bitcoin than using a local currency.

Stay away from bitgold, they do not send the gold paid with bitcoin.

You can use bitstamp now, or https://www.moro.si, are the bitstamps providers and is cheaper

Does bitgold even provide physical gold? I thought it was more like paper gold.

I would personally prefer to buy gold from local bank/stores which provide proof of authenticity and get it checked right away by gold testers.

Amagi Metals has gone AWOL so I would definitely not recommend them.  They aren't accepting bitcoins for payment anyway and haven't for months.  Their presence has been absent from the bitcointalk community for months as well.

I agree with this statement on Amagi...  I have used them for nearly 5 years and have just recently stopped.  Communications with their employees have shown that even they are distancing themselves from Amagi.  There is no crypto accepting precious metals dealer I would recommend at the moment.

I would advise you to use gyft.com to get an eBay gift card and then purchase your gold on eBay.  That is the only method I would trust currently.

Coming from you it means it's not a good option.

That's too bad. I wanted to diversify my investment and was hoping for some party's where i could buy gold with bitcoin.
