In contrast to the "Where would you travel?" thread.
I'm curious where and why people wouldn't travel to a country. Personal dislike, econimic reasons, political etc. North Korea goes without saying  Roll Eyes

well
It’s now easier than ever to visit distant locations around the world.your right cause some places, however, are best avoided due to dangerous conditions. Certain dangerous places, on the other hand, are also desirable tourist destinations. I'am this :
1.Caracas, Venezuela
This is the capital city of Venezuela and it is presently facing a crisis involving drug gangs. Street crimes such as muggings and theft are also common, making this an undesirable destination for most tourists. Many other cities in Venezuela also have high crime rates.
2.Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
Mexico’s problems with drug traffickers are well known and Ciudad Juarez is one of the nation’s most violent cities right now. Police are often employed or paid off by drug gangs, which means that many crimes go unpunished.

I wouldn't travel to Chernobyl. I don't want my healthy cells irradiated with radiation from that tragic explosion before. It's creepy to see the abandoned cities and buildings there. Another one I don't to travel to is the villages where the holocaust occured. It creeps me out seeing graves of past Jews who died under thr reign of Hitler.

There're a few countries that spring to mind.

Besides those war-torn countries, some of these with the highest homicide rates including El Salvador, Honduras, Venezuela, Jamaica, South Africa, Guatemala etc. .. These are the countries where I will definitely think twice before going, based on their current safety situation.

Any country that is dangerous, war zones or even large areas with high criminality rates are avoidable. For example cities in South Africa and Brazil seem very dangerous looking at the stats.

It really depends on how you travel. I wouldn’t say no to any trips in general but I wouldn’t go to country facing war as a tourist, it is not what they need and it’s putting yourself in a dangerous position.
I advocate for countries that are not necessarily well seen by the media. Discovering the world by yourself its amazing!
