What do you call a fish with no eyes? A Fsh!
Orange is the color representing Bitcoin. Anything without orange isn't Bitcoin.
I agree with Kluge, so I would also prefer the classic one.

I'm also in favor of creating unicode chars for bitcoin sub-units, at least for satoshis.

I'm ok with using uBTC and mBTC.

mBTC and uBTC looks weird though.

The classic one is a logo. And the alternative one is more a character you'd use in a text.
That's what was intended, but I don't think the text version should be different than the logo one (having a horizontal strike instead of a vertical one makes it different enough).

classic is way, way better. the newer one looks so bland, it doesn't catch your eye. also the B looks so symbolic/iconic in the original one.

Classic versions look better most of the times Cheesy Why would you change something that looks good just for the sake of changing it?
But I actually do think that these logos are intended for different purposed. The classic one is a logo. And the alternative one is more a character you'd use in a text.

Sometimes I get confused when a bank uses orange in its advertising because it's talking about payments, but then there's something about a membership fee and that they PERMIT international wires*, and it just seems weird to me that PNC is advertising some Farts Alive program rather than that they started dealing in bitcoin (evident by their orange-colored billboard).

*$15 surcharge and restrictions apply

On the other argument -- Unicode can add BTC when it feels like it, and it'll come organically with time. It's silly to be constrained by their standard when their standard is based on common usage and representations, which we set. It's like insisting bitcoins be called "dogs" because "dog" is already in Webster's, and Webster's is clearly some type of completely dead standard which never adapts to anything, so then we just spend all our time going around trying to redefine "dog" when its usage was already defined as something completely different -- and if the unicode "corruption" of BTC was not previously representative of something, it should simply be dropped and replaced by BTC.

The issue with the alternative logo is that it's trying to solve a non problem: the fact that "฿" is already used for the Thai Baht. It's not a problem because it's not the first time it happens. For example "$" is used for dollars and pesos all around the continent of America, and I've never seen anyone complain about that. When you need accuracy, ISO can help, but on common usage the "฿" symbol is enough.

Also, the classic logo looks better. I think everyone has already said it.

I can't see the images in the OP but I prefer the classic one, it's plain and simple. BTC

Classic obviously, it actually looks like a symbol for a currency.

The "Alternative" one looks like the letter B with some dumb line through the bottom of it, plain stupid.

I love the classic logo and I don't think we need an alternative.

Classic without any doubt; The "Alternative Bitcoin" is not appealing at all.

BTCBTC

The other classic Bitcoin logo is better than the new. If I show the classic logo to a friend he will know what it is. If I show him the new he won't.

Classic.

The alt looks like some "bit" symbol stuff I say a while ago.

Plus the classic actually looks like a currency symbol.

I outlived my lifetime membership:)
this argument is old.
now lets do something thats another old topic but atleast moving it forward

"bits" what symbols to use for a bit (100 satoshi's)

. þ .

.  Þ .

.  β .

.  Ъ .

.  ъ . (yes there is a minor difference)

.  Б .

.  Ѣ .

.  ᵬ .

. ҍ .

This. We need to decide if we want to actually obtain Unicode code points for bitcoins and subunits.
