Raspberry pi? What was that? Is it another hardware wallet or something cos I never heard of it before
The Raspberry Pi is a tiny and affordable computer, not exactly a hardware wallet.
Do you mean download bitcoin core and add raspberry pi
The other way around

I have seem some use for cold storage.  They unplug the RPI when they don't need to spend and only plug in when needing to spend.  You can get them for 35 dollars... so it does have some cost associated.

I would suggest putting that money twords a hardware wallet instead if going to spend money, but it still is a decent amount more for some hardware wallets.

I don't get you cos this is what I got when I do some finding about what Raspberry pi is. The Raspberry Pi is a low cost, credit-card sized computer that plugs into a computer monitor or TV, and uses a standard keyboard and mouse. It is a capable little device that enables people of all ages to explore computing, and to learn how to program in languages like Scratch and Python. It’s capable of doing everything you’d expect a desktop computer to do, from browsing the internet and playing high-definition video, to making spreadsheets, word-processing, and playing games.

Just go basic:
Use Blockchain.info it is what you can use anywhere anytime without any problems.
Most say hardware wallets. But not everyone can afford to buy one and can justify the cost of one for the amount of coins they are going to hold in a wallet anyhow.
If it is a small amount just use the basics  Wink

Yes, most say hardware wallet but I don't understand what you implies when you said not everyone can afford one? Do you mean hardware are sold and they also hold some of people money or you relate that as transfer charges?

The most balanced wallet is core, it is secure and easy to use, although it is a software wallet.

I like to use a Ledger wallet, but it comes at a cost. If you can cover that cost, it can become a great investment.

Hardware Wallets are safest in my opinion.
You can use Multibit HD wallet It doesn't need to download whole blockchain, it's good I use it personally.

edit: Electrum is good too, but I prefer Multibit HD

Ok, i already have blockchain but i want a wallet which can keep my mind at peace. Moreover, is Multibit HD wallet a hardware wallet cos i never heard of it before

Look up either cold wallets like paper wallets, or hardware wallets.  Those are the two types which I sleep good using.  If used right they just have great security.  And again if used right is key.

Blockchain is a hot wallet you should only keep your small spending money on it.  And make sure to use 2fa.

Bitcoin Core, if you want a good set-up try to search "bitcoin core + raspberry pi"
Also GreenAddress, setting-up with a hardware wallet it's a good (and easy to use) solution Roll Eyes

Bitcoin Core

Its a good wallet but I don't think it is the most convenient one, downloading the whole blockchain first thing is a pain in the ass and if for some reason it gets corrupted then one has to do it again. In my view Electrum is the one which is the most convenient.

But I download Electrum and when I installed it, it said the version is not working for my laptop and I don't know what to do about.... Is it the Electrum that's not good or do you think I download the wrong app ?

did you download it from the official website www.electrum.org/#download ? if so also check the signature of the wallet installer after download with the appropriate signature to double check that you have downloaded the right one.

what is your operating system?
what is "the version is not working for my laptop" ? you should post the complete error message, but I am guessing you have downloaded a wallet for another OS.

Ok... I am using Window 8 laptop and the version I downloaded was electrum-2.6.2-portable

Hi Legendary Member, Hero Member, Senior Member, Full Member etc. Could pls tell the most secure and also convinent to use btc wallet. thanks
For online wallet, you can try blockchain.info and coinbase
For desktop wallet, Exactly bitcoin Core

Ok but bitcoin core is hardware wallet.

The same for online wallet i will go for coinbase with their sms and email security check it is very good wallet even if anything hacking happens to the computer with this two security option no one can hack the coinbase wallet recently i saw a thread where one of the user just dowloaded the keylogger and his computer got hacked his desktop wallet electrum got hacked , it is that he did not saved with 2fa but his coinbase wallet was not able to hack by the hacker as the security was sms authority and email confirmation as the security is when a new ip connects to the wallet then automatically you have to go through this security check.

So which ever but keep 2fa security so that you can get saved.

You're quite right and in such cases I think you need to install deepfreeze on your computer cos with the deep freeze everything install on your computer which you the onwer don't authorise will be wipe off once you restart your computer
