Id say coinbase since you can buy btc with a credit card instantly with pretty decent daily limits.
They also teamed up with paypal to allow paypal cashouts that are pretty quick.

I like kraken for purchasing big amounts of bitcoin.

Their trading engine is not the nicest, but they always handle desposits and withdrawels swiftly. In addition, their fees are quite acceptable compared to others.

You could try coinbase but they require verification to buy directly. Localbitcoins.com may be a good place to buy but sometimes fraudulent trades can sneak in as it's "peer to peer". It may be best to find a company local to your country, just be sure to do lots of research and look around for the most popular exchanges.

Localbitcoins is no longer operational in germany and bitcoin.de is the only german exchange unless you count things like mycelium local trader or going to a random meet up and asking people.
If that is the case then when it comes to buying bitcoins, Germany might be more limited than Canada!
Another option I strong suggest is taking the time to look for local connections, (bitcoin suppliers and enthusiasts) so you can purchase more easily.
