Of course the best coins on Coinmarketcap will be the best choice for long term investment. But you should know that how much money you can get almost depend on how long you can hold. Maybe you think 1 or 2 years are really long but sometime it's not enough for a good coin like BTC or ETH to go to the moon, to find out a really good coin for you, at first you should know how long or how many years you're going to hold.
Bitcoin, no need to ask why this is the best coin to invest in the long run. You don't want to invest in short term? Buy bitcoin and you don't have to think on how it will go. The price of it is swinging and most of the altcoins in the market are also being moved whenever bitcoin moves.

I am agree that EOS is good coin and can compete with others in market cap value. Beside EOS, I think ICX is good coin and could bring profits because the price right now very cheap
For long term my choice will always be bitcoins, there is no fear that it will be deleted from exchange, the growth in price has being consistently higher over a long time and it is the most decentralized and secure system we have at the moment

I think Bitcoin is the best coin in the long run, even if you buy it for $ 5,000. From altcoins I would choose Ripple, Ethereum, EOS and Litecoin.

While eth, they have active developers and you can see that they can deliver results, so I can consider that the lifespan of their platform will be longer than most.

Presently there are very good coins out there but only few has stood the test of time. For me the kings remains Bitcoin and Ethereum, so if you are thing of hold then you need to actually have this 2 for starters
I'll recommend you EOS, they have a potential to increase in the nearest future. After EOS i will suggest Bitcoincash and ELF for you to diversify your investment. You can aswell make research when you are about to invest.

Honestly, bitcoin is the best coin in the long run because it is the first cryptocurrency that was created in blockchain technology and it is the top coin in the market, that is why it is good for long term investment rather than altcoins. Please recommend the coins.

Stop looking to those coins that you just feel good. Don't depend on that kind of choosing a coin, always prefer those coins that has been so good to the market for a very long time. And the majority has said it should be bitcoin which I agree. Some altcoins that I prefer too, ethereum and litecoin but that's just it. I'd rather hold and focus with bitcoin before some altcoins, I won't put any attention to those altcoins that are too new to my eyes.
I prefer bitcoin and dominant cryptos due to strong teams behind such top cryptocurrencies. ETH looks like promising if we consider the ERC20 tokens inside this platform. Long term trading is easier than day trading and top 20 cryptos are safe for trading on both time frame.
I prefer known, big cryptocurrencies than waste my time and money with useless coins. Long term investing requires to understand the market cycles and basic principles of trading but no one wants to take pain side of analysing.
there is a lot of promising coin but all the coin are connected to bitcoin for the moment, but in my opinion for the promising corner there are Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin, Binance Coin, Cardano

One of the thread that I've read here is about google, putting up bitcoin as a currency in keyboard. They've said that bitcoin can last long and not even try to add ethereum to it. As they said it, I think there is some sort of reality to it.

Ethereum and bitcoin always the best and you can count on it with your assets. Its confusing many blockchain added to the alts list daily and risky to invest in new alts. But there are alts have cheap price and you can buy if you want so when the time comes either bearish or bullish so you don't have to worry for that small capital or investment you put-up during that time.
My best choice of coin for long-term investment is bitcoin, no doubt about this, bitcoin is the parent of all coins, and will give you a good profit for the future, if you intend to invest in bitcoin, start right now
