Honestly? Monero. I know it went from being a 85 dollar coin to 35 dollar coin in just the last one month but it is also the greatest thing you can use to get away from all of this without anyone really following you. You can put ALL your money into monero and nobody will know it is there, when the whole world economy collapses the governments will come for everything you have and I do not trust bitcoin 100% anymore, if you have monero tho you can definitely be seen as hidden.

I know no government will work towards finding out how much bitcoin you are holding, that is too much work for them and they will instead do stocks/gold and basically all your cash in all savings accounts and combining all of that will be enough, however just in case one more step of protection by moving from btc to monero could be advantageous.

True, even the feds said that the prefer seing criminals use BTC than monero as they can track it easier haha.

in this industry you cannot be safe or avoid the risk of investing in digital currencies. We all know that investing in crypto involves risk taking, and you need to understand it before making a decision here. related to this I personally always believe that bitcoin investment is very feasible as well as to secure your money here, if you don't want to take high risks.

Initially, bitcoin had been the coin that i hold for long term but for about a year i decided to try some altcoins as well and it has been great all these while. I have been holding BNB, ETH and LINk for quite sometime now and i know these projects are going to come out great in the near future to increase my profits.

I would applaud your choices on altcoins. Most of them have good future potential. BNB is the exchange coin of Binance, which is the largest cryptocurrency exchange if we consider the volumes and turnover. ETH is regarded as the king of altcoins, ever since its listing in 2014. Even now, they have the best development team among all the altcoins. Chainlink is one of the most potential new altcoins and it may give good returns in the near future.

Do not pick any safe haven altcoins because none of them are more safe than others when it comes to market collapsing. You can find a coin that is better for profiting and I can understand that, it has always been something very differentiating because some coins make more profit than the others, however when it comes to losing money all coins lose money except bitcoin which still goes down but not as much as the other ones.

Look at ethereum for example, it was around 250 bucks and moved to 100 bucks or even lower at around 90 bucks for a while, where as bitcoin was 7.5k and moved to 5k mostly (sure it went a bit lower as well but rebounded) so as you can see when it comes to losing there are no safe havens in altcoins, only bitcoin, when it comes to winning, we have some profitable ones.

Hey

So, since the crisis has just begun imo, which coins are you guys holding? who do you trust?

I am a proud holder of NWC, KAVA, and BAT for some time now. Or at least I wish I could say I'm proud for all them haha. Kava and Bat are testing my patience lately, but I ain't sellin'!! Time to buy more..

Whereas these NwC guys came up with a solution on how to keep HODLers in these tough times. Some sort of Holders event, exciting idea for me as a holder type of guy.

But, that's my opinion.

What about you Bitcointalk people?

What's your story?

Which coin is your safe haven?

I will be brief. Of all the altcoins, Ethereum prefers me more. And most of my funds are in it. If it falls, then I buy it. If it grows, then I rejoice). Although I most likely make the mistake of keeping most of my funds in one asset.

With this crisis we are all currently in to, for me, I would still consider Bitcoin as my safe haven despite of the fact that it is indeed the price of it is hitting too low because of what is happening in our world right now but still for me it is the safest cryptocurrency that I can entrust and do believe to make a big possibility to recover since Bitcoin have already surpassed lots of odds and circumstances and still manages to recover after that. With the current situation we have wherein all the cryptocurrencies are all in the red marks, I would still choose Bitcoin more than any other cryptocurrencies because for me it is still the safest one that I can have. Aside from Bitcoin, I am also currently holding into Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple for I also believe those Altcoins can have a greater possibility to improve and recover their prices once all this problems have been vanished and once the market recovers from its loss.

at the moment I have nothing better to do short trading when you see the opportunity to buy, then sell and repeat again.
if you really do not want to do the long term, it is normal to keep BTC, and some good alt.
but I prefer to do short trading at the moment.

isnt the market a bit unstable now to be shorting? Eg. look at BTC today... I wouldnt say its safe to short

indeed the current condition is better to save assets in the form of cryptocurrency with coins that have a little supply would be better like bitcoin is a very smart choice but for altcoin I think it has a very high risk because there is more supply than interested ones.

Old and top is like safe haven but choose new for projects for profits. Your opinion weren't so bad, I hold some Harmony, XNS, Credits and Vechain. Top 10 coin isn't suitable for me to hold long time. Although during bullrun all coin will give high profits if survive this coin until that time. Next plans is in one coin have to invest highest money which will safe haven.

What's your story?

Which coin is your safe haven?
Safe haven does not seem to be the right diction, because of the extreme market movements, world economy is not good enough. This is a challenge for all of us, train mentally and confident in trading and investing. The key is you have a strategy and do an independent analysis, don't panic, don't FOMO.
I prefer to hold BTC over altcoin. I avoid the new altcoin because the risk is higher. The price of BTC moves to the extreme, let alone the decline on single day last week which made me unsteady but I chose to hold on.

Rightly i haven't safe any coins at this moment basically this time better for focus short time trading. Other point if you want safe some coin then you can choice Bitcoin right now. In fact btc is the real promising coin where have more promising profits after as ever time.
I, too, no longer try to keep a large cryptocurrency portfolio. Of the Altcoins, I have only Litecoin and Binance coin left. I think that the Binance coin will grow well in value even this difficult year.

Please don't have a false sense of safety. There is nothing called a "safe heaven asset" as far as cryptocurrencies are concerned. Even Tether (USDT) can't be rated as such an asset. Cryptocurrencies are one of the most volatile and risky investment assets available. In case you don't like the high volatility, then you should go for assets such as treasury bonds and bank deposits. Cryptocurrencies are for those who are willing to take a certain amount of risk.

Well, I am sure your choices might be out of research which is very good, but presently I think there is no safe haven when it comes to altcoin, this is because the bitcoin which most altcoin depend on isn't directional and so the best haven is either a stable coin or even bitcoin. For now Altcoin isn't safe

Bitcoin is safe haven for me, people should stop talking as if it's over for crypto, it's not, I prefer having 1 BTC than holding 4k in stable coin because I know what that 1BTC can become in future, I care less about present value right now
the traditional market suffers a liquidity crunch because of the coronavirus it's difficult to choose and it is very unpredictable but if the vaccine is already found i choose BTC and ETH .

I think except you want to store your funds in tether or stable coins, i see bitcoin as a safe haven.

It may be low in price today, but its trading volume improved and increased and the halving is just around the corner.

The best of the bull run is yet to come
