I don't think calling it outdated would be fair. Its has been in the game for as long as we know it but I somehow think new coins will certainly make their place. XRP has been a contender for favorite coin and I think it will be for a long time.
But I do hope new coins do fairly well and work in favor of crypto. I don't think there is any potential for altcoin than Bitcoin. The potential of Bitcoin has not been fully exhausted，it still has great potential now. If any altcoin's potential surpasses Bitcoin, Bitcoin has lost its potential.

It's just one of the many. There are plenty of altcoins with impressive properties, but none of them was tested at the scale Bitcoin is, none of them has the network power Bitcoin has.
A coin needs some degree of marketing, acceptance and some start of real world use, and then we'll start getting a glimpse of how robust and well done it is. The impressive properties are not enough.
I hope TON (Telegram coin) will be the main BTC competitor because Pavel Durov's Telegram Messenger is very popular all over the World and their coin can be the real game changer.
There are other coins that surpass BTC in other aspects and they exist for long now and we didn't see any of them have any chance to overcome BTC. It is not always about technology when anyone mentions Cryptocurrency the first thing to come to anyone mind is BTC and it will take ages to be able to change that, I think there is zero chance for any currency to take BTC place, it is already a settled thing and won't be changing anytime soon. Nano(XRB) is a really good coin and it does not need to compete with BTC to have a good and great future.

Right now it doesn't matter which cryptocurrency can perform better than Bitcoin regarding TPS or whatever. Bitcoin is the most recognized crypto and if it fails, all the the others have no chance to survive. I know that Bitcoin can't fail completely and that sooner or later it will be adopted by most people, like laptops and smartphones, but this adoption can be postponed for 5 years or even longer, and this is what I mean by "fail". Also, I think you know that Lightning Network promises to enable millions of transactions per second for Bitcoin, and if not the LN, then, I'm sure, another solution for this problem will be found, because there is a great team behind BTC, so ... In short, it's not that easy to defeat the king.
It's really outstanding making 7000 transactions per second it seems XRB is really promising and have potential. But bro it doesn't mean it is more potential than bitcoin no it is quite impossible because bitcoin is unique still now. So it will go for a long way to reach bitcoin nd need a huge time.

I don't think that XRB will overtook bitcoin's spot in the near future. Though we can say that for now bitcoin is not profitable when you invest on it due to the recent crash but in the long run it is still the people's choice in the crypto world.
There a lot of potential coins. I suggest to study the coins you want to know better or you want to invest. Because we dont know what coin the investors they gonna buy. So make sure it has potential to high the price.
Well Nano is a great project but i personally think that sooner or later btc will also come out of its sxaling issues either in form of lightening network or other upgrades also the value will start recovering once we see some positive sentiment in the mqrket which is not good at the moment.
