To estimate which altcoin exchange is the best then we should see how old and how reliable has been that exchange.

For me poloniex is one of the best altcoin exchange, it is sometimes slower but it's one of the most trusted and best altcoin exchange.

I recently built a list of the best altcoin exchanges https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.io/ which includes the most trustworthy places to trade bitcoin and cryptocurrency. In my opinion, these are the best platforms for serious altcoin traders:

1. Poloniex - solid community reputation, great volumes, excellent interface, good compliance standards, margin trading on major altcoins, fully refunded users after small theft in 2013.
2. Bittrex - good user trust, located in Vegas USA, nice daily volume, trading interface is good, not as many cryptocurrencies listed though.
3. Yobit - a huge range of coins to trade, good for pump & dumpers, professional trading interface, but too many deadcoins can make things confusing.
4. Bitsquare - decentralized & p2p - I can only repeat how amazing it would be if all exchanges were decentralized.
5. Hitbtc - Copenhagen-based, plenty of users, fees remain low.
6. Changelly - Czech cryptocurrency exchange with serious admins, user following is growing but some way to go still.
7. Kraken - not yet there, but slowly becoming a full-on cryptocurrency exchange. Recent listing of Tether (USDT) make it their 10th alcoin available to trade. Excellent community trust for buying/selling BTC.
8. Shapeshift - different from traditional altcoin exchanges, no account needed to swap coins, based in Switzerland, not a custodial platform so less risk

though I know many of you hate yobit in terms of accepting many coins in their trading platform

From what I have seen this feature has actually contributed to their recent growth. Now that Cryptsy is gone, Yobit are the only proactive exchange accepting all new interesting coins.

there are only little volume coin that added on that exchange site, and you should try Poloniex or Bittrex.

I have tried many altcoin exchanges but found these four exchanges quick profit making.

They are good, but you don't find reputable coins and good volume in all of these four sites. Even their volumes are very low when compared to other big exchanges like poloniex, bittrex etc.

Poloniex is the best due to the high volume trading there but they hardly list any new coins so the selection isn't all that great.  Bittrex is my number 2 exchange.

Volume is more important than the selection of coins. I find Bittrex frustrating, because you can set a sell order, or buy order and it will literally take days to get filled because hardly anyone trades there.

choose an alt coin exchange that has so many alt coin which has a good potential to be traded of and possible to get a profit and is quickly removing a dead coin . I don't know what will be the best bitcoin exchange platform that should be suggested but I think C-Cex, Poloniex, Bittrex, and Cryptopia could be a good option for you .

You are right. And Yobit needs to remove those deadcoins immediately. Not that I am a victim of pump and dump but continuing to list deadcoins doesn't make any sense at all.

My best picks for altcoins are:

Poloniex and Cryptopia

Poloniex has less withdrawal fee compared to other exchanger out there plus its very easy use and Cryptopia well i just use it cause this exchanger has some other altcoins that poloniex doesn't have. Well, there are plenty of exchangers out there for you to chose it all depends on you to what's best fall for the criteria you are looking for.

There are a lot of exchange that are already trusted by the community like, poloniex, bittrex and many more.

And if you want to try out a new aspiring exchange, you can try out bitsane exchange.

It's still new and on progress, it looks pretty good to try this out.

Which is the best altcoin exchange

so far of course for what I used now was bittrex, poloniex, and yobit though I know many of you hate yobit in terms of accepting many coins in their trading platform, they don't care what the community would say to them because it is only a business. And the rest trading platform had established their own a big community in this industry.

It depends on the criteria you are looking for. In terms of trade volume  Poloniex is the best, but if you are looking for hype and pump Yobit is the best ans for security I will go for Bittrex

Which is the best altcoin exchange

After what happened to bitfinex better to dont put all your money in one exchanger only .divided it to many as you can and use it many exchanger not the same coin listed it is good for you to learn more in many coin.

It is more better if you are not going to stock your bitcoin in the exchanger where you do trading and sell your Altcoins, because just like what you were trying to say, it is better to stay in the safe side and transfer it instantly in your bitcoin wallet, for you to be sure that it will not lost.

And also, try to use correctly the different punctuations, for your post not that hard to read can be easily understand what you are trying to say. Smiley

I do agreed with you,  As much as possible we must scattered our bitcoin in different exchange sites. However, the best exchange site platform for me was Bittrex, c-cex, and Poloniex, those trading platform are proven and tested they build big community in bitcoin world and had no any controversies that being involve before.

I disagree. that doesn't really increase your safety, it just complicates things and they can all get allegedly hacked (or run away with your money at the same time).
you shouldn't be keeping anything on any exchange in the first place. then again it is impossible to not keep anything in an exchange!

when it comes to trading and using these current types of exchanges and how they work, things are always going to be very tricky. and as long as these services are centralized like this without any valid insurance to their users, we are all taking risks using them even if it is for a couple of seconds.

Actually you should only keep altcoins in exchanges if you are trading them or at least you are only holding few of them and have no plans of keeping them in such a long time.

there is no "should" and if there is, you shouldn't keep anything at all on exchanges.
have you forgotten what happened with cryptsy?

I used to have bitcoin and altcoins there, not much in total but about 0.3BTC bitcoin and a couple of hundred thousands Nyan coin there. and when they went down everything went poof in the air. they kept promising to open up withdrawals of some coins and they never did and all my money were lost.
