Phatk is a kernel. He's asking about mining software. Phoenix and cgminer both use the phatk kernel. On the same hardware, OS, driver, SDK, kernel, vectors, worksize, etc, will cgminer run faster than phoenix?
Roight Roight, Sorry bout that, Well for me comparing GUIminer/Phoenix/BFGminer/CGminer CGminer was the best by 2mh/s and gave Profound internal features

Well well, I was about to walk in and go "your an idiot, It's based off your hardware"
and read the OP and thought "Hmm, That really is something to wonder"

But ultimatley, This question is NEARLY unanswerable, Your gonna need all of the Minning Software creators to run through testing of Evverrry set of settings for every set of drivers/hardware
Sheesh, You really almost cannot answer this question correctly.

Ofcourse YOUR gonna feel that Phoenix-1.64/phatk2 with ATI 11.9 is the best
But that Only because of your 5xxx series card (seriously)

If i try Phatk2 with my 7xxx I lose 80mh/s And i Cant even USE

Regardless of VGA, drivers, settings, CPU bugs, output, user interface etc.

Which miner gives the highest Hash Rate?

EDIT: I say it is Phoenix-1.64/phatk2 with ATI 11.9
You asking the wrong question?  You should be asking, which miner will make you most money with your rig(s).

I'd say cgminer because of its control features, remote API and statistics.

You can tweak it to perform best with YOUR particular hardware.

I'm still using cgminer because of it's control, but technically Diablo gets me ~5-6MH/s more, even if cgminer is using diablo's kernel with the same settings.

It is not impossible, it is hard do answer  Tongue
I just wanted to save some time from checking each miner thread, hoping that someone will tell me, no there isn't anything new faster than phatk2 with the old sdk but I guess I had to do my own homework Cheesy

Thanks for the explanation dude, but this are things I know for more than 1 year now. Just because I'm new to the forum doesn't mean that I'm a noob Smiley

Haha I'm not in the habit of checking every person's join date when they ask a noob impossible to answer question like what miner is faster when they only have 20 posts.

So anyways no constructive answers and from what I read CG miner does nothing that I cant do with a few .bat files so I'm sticking with the good old Phoenix/phatk2

Yes, mainly it depends on driver and SDK:

Phoenix/phatk2, ATI 11.9
  • 5870 at 945/300 - 435Mh/s

CG or GUI/poclbm - ATI 12.4
  • 5870 at 945/300 - 415Mh/s

This is with optimal flags, and for the first one of course with CPU bug. All my GPUs are 5xxx series, but it goes the same for the 6xxx series.

IIRC, 12.4 has SDK2.6, which will account for your loss speed. Drivers themselves don't really affect your hash speed a significant amount, but the SDK that gets bundled with the drives does.

Well it's always different for every piece of hardware! A lot of the programs already use the same kernels, so it's just a matter of how to provide work fast enough for the GPU to stay busy. In that regard, I've always used CGMiner.

As far as the kernel goes, phatk2 might give you better results (are you on 5xxx cards?), but for me, I lose 20-30MH/s going from poclbm to phatk (7xxx cards). It all depends on your GPU type, driver, SDK, core speed, mem speed, vectors, worksize... etc.

Don't try to be a smartass, just answer the question! Smiley

In my experience Phoenix 1.64 with phatk2 gives 20-30MH/s than anything else. But it has been almost an year since I'm using that combo, isn't there anything faster nowadays?

if you take out the output, user interface, all you're left with is the kernel, which is the same for all the major miners. (just swap the kernel file)
