It is a tricky question as no one knows the exact answer. People can share their opinion but then they cannot for sure say where to invest and how much. The saying is "Invest only what you can afford to lose". Diversification of investment is what we all need to go ahead with. I never invest on ICO because most of them are just scam. My money is between BTC and AltCoin(especially POS coins). In today's scenario, it is difficult to say which coin will be successful and which will be not because even though the project will have all whitepaper, team and plan laid out, the next thing you know is the project closed and people lost all their money.
So before investing, keep the eyes , mind and ears open. If you cannot afford to lose the money you are about to invest then you are better off with something else.

Well it will make sense if you would invest during low price.

I would recommend you to buy both (60% and 40% bitcoin and altcoin, respectively). There's no doubts that bitcoin will rise in value sooner, or later, but with altcoins, unlike with btc, you should be careful and check its price every day, if not hour, because their price is much less predictable, but it all depend on which alt you choose, I would recommend ETH, it is stable, but there's no guarantee that its price will alter much.

Bitcoin is a good investment but the price is quite high now. But you wont have to worry about buying it high because the value of bitcoin almost always increases. If you buy altcoin i suggest ethereum because it is the most stable altcoin. Considering its stability, the increase in value takes too long but still it usually increases.
if i have the pocket full of money to invest in cryptocurrency and i have to choose between bitcoin and altcoin i would split it 50/50. why? as you can see bitcoin's price is increasing non stop while altcoin is just slowly going there.
Yes! Investing in Bitcoin or Altcoin depend not only on the amount of money you have but also the ability to take courage to invest irrespective of the soaring Bitcoin or the low Altcoin prices. If the price hits the all time low,i would definitely buy it but if it doesnt hit it i wont buy just to be safe.

It's good to buy a bit of both. Choose a few good altcoins for long term multipliers and also Bitcoin as a hedge against the rest and fiat. Now BTC is cheap because it has dipped like nearly 40% from the last bull run so it's a good time to buy some I guess. Mind you having said that it might drop even more because all the whales will dump a crap load of stuff to get their lambos and Xmas gift for their girlfriends rofl.

Here I would like to explain you simple basic whether to buy bitcoin or altcoins and then see what is the condition in which you are .If the market of the bitcoin is getting rising then you should hold your bitcoin and if your heart is saying that you want to make big profit then wait for the big dump in the altcoins market and then buy those coins whose price get dummped much than what we can expect .Which one do you recommend to buy?

Bitcoin is a safe investment. But buying some Altcoins too is a good idea. I suggest buying a bit of both coins. Both Altcoins go up and down, so if you have both you have a win win situation if you invest carefully.
I don't have enough money to invest in bitcoin just in altcoins since I can have capital from the campaign I joined to make an investment in it. It should be better to have both investment at a time because both are having pumps and dumps to take risk. To have a secure investment, taking the two will give opportunity to not lose any amount when investing.
It you look at the current state of bitcoin, it doesn't make sense to invest on it right now. Price is high, slow confirmation, tx fees are steep as well. Wild price swings specially Wall Street joining the party. For me, I would rather invest on altcoins such as ETH, LTC - currently doing good. But you have to think long term investment here. No shorting, you will just lost a lot of you that kind of trading because it high risk. You can only invest in bitcoin if it fallback to $10K, however, I don't know if it will because there are really investors flocking the market and buying at this high price.

Bitcoin is on the surge and buying for this it really in the high cost. It is better if you just invest for some potential alts as it have a low cost at this time.
