I wouldn't kno why there's no follow button in the forum. However, there are members you come across and you can't help reading everything they have to say because they're so cool, and valuable. There's a guy I cam across his posts a few years ago and since then, he has left an indelible impression in my mind. Since it's holiday and we all have some time to spend on BTT, I'd like us to appreciate such people while asking Theymos to add a follow button just the way we have the ignore button.
This follow button is not necessary. You can simply go to the profile of the forum user you are interested in and at the very bottom you will see “Show the last posts of this person”, where you can read all the posts of this user. Both the latest and the earliest.

Who has impressed you the most in the forum? I mean someone you'll alway read all their posts whenever you see them. For me, he is a real champ ...
I can't single out just one. Many members contribute in their own way in various directions and discussions. I see the forum not as a place where you can read the posts of one or a few prominent users, but as a BTC-community in which everyone contributes as best they can and makes this community stronger. It often happens that even beginners and low-ranking users voice very interesting and useful thoughts. This is where all the power of the forum lies - in the users, which makes the forum decentralized in a sense.

Say, didn't we just have a thread like this?  I seem to recall one whose title asked who your bitcointalk mentor was, and this here is practically the same thing.
Yes we have had a couple of similar threads in the past and your answer on the subject is pretty much the same. it’s amazing how much someone can make a lasting impression on others.

Wow, I saw my username in two of the four categories--and I'll be damned if I know how I'm even in the top 1000 most recognized members.  That really baffles me.

Say, didn't we just have a thread like this?  I seem to recall one whose title asked who your bitcointalk mentor was, and this here is practically the same thing.  I don't know, it seems redundant.  Anyway, like I said in that other thread, Vod was big as was Lauda, hilariousandco, and Blazed.  They didn't all inspire me necessarily, but it isn't often that a newcomer gets any support from either an old-timer or a moderator, so that's why I remember those names.

Don't ask me any further, please. The people who inspire me change every day.

if there are similarities in the ways, this is just a coincidence.

Why do you need a follow button when there is no timeline and you can see all the posts of any account easily? You can customize notifications using Telegram bots or ask one of the developers to add this feature.
There is actually a competition [Voting 2023] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 where you can vote for members according to several categories, one of which is influencers.

Looks like this topic fits in Reputation than Meta. If the topic was solely about requesting for a follow button to be added to the forum, it would make sense for the topic to be in meta. But the content of your post is mixed with other discussions.

You can follow your favorite Bitcointalk member using LoyceV’s Follow users on Bitcontalk (posts and/or topics) or  TryNinja’s Telegram Bot.

As it has not really have do with the Forum on it self i guess this Topic should be in Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Trading Discussion > Reputation
In the Reputation Board there are a lot of Topics that have to do with Users and about them.
You can move your Topic by yourself on the bottom left corner with Move Topic.

Post are being categorized according to how they are helpful or useful to you, sometimes what you finds helpful might not be that helpful to others although I actually value some of the post I come across here and if they are very meaningful to me or in any form helpful to me all I will do is to give credits to it by dropping 1 merits or above depending on how constructive the post is to me. That is why you finds some post with lots of merits out there since there is no follow button to say all you could do is to merits any user you find inspiration from their post.

The forum is never lacking of inspiration, there are a lot of inspiring forum members that are consistent, and on days when these members are not active, the forum is not short of replacements. These inspiring forum members are spread across all ranks, Legendary to sometimes full members, and from the regular boards posters to even posters that restrict themselves to their local boards. It is difficult to make a pick if you really read a lot of topics in different boards and have a piece of how every user thinks from their writing. Inspiring members are present in all of the boards of the forum, even in the gambling boards.

I really want to say a big thank you to every forum user who consciously makes effort to inspire others whenever they write.
