Unfortunately, my family members do not have an understanding of cryptocurrency, and as a result, they do not use it. However, they are aware that I am involved with something known as cryptocurrency. On the other hand, several of my friends use cryptocurrency, and we frequently engage in discussions about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. While there are a few people I know who are involved in Bitcoin and crypto businesses, such as reselling, I am grateful to have friends with whom I can openly discuss cryptocurrency, even though it is not supported in my country.
I think it's very important when we have someone to talk about it outside of the forum, in real life. There is a lot of useful information and good advice here, but having the opportunity to discuss the right issue in real time is a little different and sometimes even more important.

For some relatives then yes there are ones who do know about cryptocurrency which is great but they do mostly tend to reach me out on how to deal up with things considering that they are seeing me

which does have a better life status considering on the assets and things that i do have. This is why they are really that eager on tending to copy out on what im doing but i did make out some simple

explanation about the idea about on risking on other altcoins as well aside from Bitcoin but of course when it comes to risks then it would be an another add up
which you would really be needing that if you do tend up to touch this area.

Back in 2015, some friends I knew got into bitcoin without my advice and they got washed out by HYIPs and MLM scams. They moved away from bitcoin and only during the recent pumps in price did they come back to check on it.
It often happens when people lose money and no matter how well they learned what they invested money in, the first thing they will think about after losing money is that it is a scam. But in the case of bitcoin, many people begin to think and return, because they see that for many years it has not gone anywhere, the bubble has not burst, bitcoin is still on the market, large funds and states are investing in it, and it is constantly growing in price.
That changes after they start to make some money, and they start to realize that when they lose money they shouldn't focus on what it is but more about why they lost. If you focus on why they lost money then they can start to make more money.

I used to lose a lot of money but more like lose a TON of profit, I used to sell too early all the time, and that caused me to not make enough return at all. In light of that, I decided to learn that I shouldn't really be selling early and hold until it start to go down. This allowed me to make a lot more profit and that caused me to make a good return eventually when the time comes and that's the great part of it. You learn and you get better.

Cryptocurrency is all the wave here in Africa, at first I knew some folk close to me who were dealing with cryptocurrency and bitcoin to be specific but never really got interested as the rate at which people were complaining about how ponzi scheme have ruined their life but it was not until I was properly lectures by a close friend on what cryptocurrency really is, before I now truly understood the whole concept behind this wonderful technology and since then I would say I have been a preacher of the gospel on the financial freedom attained through crypto and how one can save by investing and holdling your coins and it would not actually have to through the havoc that goes with the fiat currency savings which is this bastard "inflation". I would say am not the only one who is fully aware about bitcoin among my friends but I can boldy say am the only one who is actually holding a bitcoin investment.

Relatives? Hmm I don't think that there is anybody here in my place who's involved in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general, but maybe some of my relatives that lives in other places are involved especially those who are at least know how to use computer, and a bit of Google.

Friends? I know some, but they aren't investing at all which is kind of unfortunate, and make me sadden at the same time. I mean the ones that I know are at the 20's already, and whenever I ask them if they invested into Bitcoin already, they always say "We will do it next month, or maybe next year." I mean you can start even with a few amounts of money only right?

I just hope that one day, there will be a time where me and my other relatives and friends will be sharing our thoughts with regards to cryptocurrency. I would love doing that. I would love sharing my knowledge with them, and learning from them as well.

I don't know which of my friends are still dealing with bitcoin because it seems that many of them have left bitcoin since bitcoin managed to touch ATH at $20k. And even though we still talk a lot or chat in groups, I doubt he is still serious about dealing with crypto.

If people have lost something, they won't come back; even if some do, they are only half-hearted about dealing in crypto. But you are lucky that you already know bitcoin from your friends and have an uncle who also knows bitcoin well. You can learn from your uncle so you can get more knowledge.

I like to talk about Bitcoin with most people including my family and friends. I think it's cool that we are adopting a new way to move and use money. However, only a few of my friends are into it since most think it's too risky.
I think this is due to alot of fud and scammers they hear about. They are the ones that create a bad reputation for Bitcoin. Because they take advantage of honest and hard-working people who are really looking to get into it but end up not wanting to.
Can see why people would still be skeptical. But the good thing is that I did my research and made sure I knew what I was doing when I became involved. I showed my uncle who is more old fashioned and likes to deal with stocks. And I was able to educate him and got him to invest a little in Bitcoin.
A lot of people doesn't know that the risk can be lessen if they start acquiring enough knowledge and basic foundation regarding bitcoin and the blockchain technology. There is a misconception when it comes to bitcoin especially when I'm introducing it to my friends and family, at first they will say that it is risky or it is a scam. But why is that? For me there are a lot of factors why their 1st impression is like that, one of the factors is because a lot of scammers using bitcoin to get money from the other people and that kind of scenarios are usually in the news so the 1st information that will perceive by the people 1st time hearing the bitcoin is negative.

But this kind of negative information that they perceived can be change through formal education, the formal education that I'm talking about is not the education that you need to go to school or university. I'm talking about education that you will learn the truth about what is bitcoin and how it works. The negative perception will immediately go away if they start taking formal education relating to bitcoin and cryptocurrency. For me it is one of the way for other people to start introducing bitcoin to other people like their friends or their relatives.

... When talking about physical friends, I'm not really into bitcoin, but for online friends, I have a lot of them who deal in bitcoin, and the truth is that they are the ones who taught me this. We live in a province, so I am not shocked that people are not into crypto.

Maybe I'm like you in this, I hardly have any friends around my neighbourhood who know about bitcoin but for online friends, I also have many friends from other countries and we have been in touch for many years.
Recently, I was teaching my brother about bitcoin, he rejected bitcoin 5 years ago when I invested in bitcoin but was not successful yet. Now that I have had some small successes and he is just starting to believe what I say, he started a little late for me but there are still a lot of opportunities for him.

Once my uncle came to visit us, and I accidentally saw that he was looking at the charts on his smartphone, I asked him and it turned out that he was also involved in cryptocurrencies. We talked a bit about cryptocurrencies that evening, I was excited that my uncle also buys bitcoin, because before that I had doubts whether it was good to buy cryptocurrencies, because I know that my father does not take it seriously.

It was from my uncle that I learned not to store coins on the exchange, and later my uncle gave me a ledger, it was the coolest present for my birthday. It was thanks to him that I learned that you need hold coins correctly, safety is above all, and that Bitcoin should be the main investment.

The main points from this story that we can take away are the importance of not holding coins on exchanges, the value of holding coins properly and safely, and the idea that Bitcoin should be considered a major investment. In addition, this is in terms of participation where there is a positive influence that a mentor or family member can have on one's financial education and investment strategy later.

how i look at CEXs, is that you trade on them and get out your funds as soon as you can. so the relationship is just very short. but sometimes there are other services such as staking or flexible savings like binance has. but as much as possible, if you want to avail other financial services, make sure it is very reputable as you can easily lose access of your own funds. if you are just doing the trading, better withdraw your money as soon as you finished the trade.
I see bloggers who show that they earn good money with the help of stanking on the exchange, for this they have to keep a lot of money on the exchange, I think this is too stupid.

By the way, my friend, who taught me to trade, constantly keeps some funds on the exchanges, since he is an active trader. I sometimes tell him about risks, but he tells me that there are always risks, but since he is an active trader, he is forced to do just that.

If you are a day trader then you can say you have no choice but CEX and your friend is right, everything is at risk. When we entered this market, we took the risk that even if you are holding bitcoins in your hardware wallet there is still a risk. Nothing is absolutely safe, what we can do is find the best solution to keep the risk to a minimum.

I am not advocating CEX but like it or not it has always been part of the market and will always be necessary to some extent. Hating them doesn't help us, use them for the right purposes instead.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)

I try to make people aware about Bitcoin and how it works, how it is easy to send to someone without restrictions. But there is a lot of first hand resistance because it is covered with a lot of negative news and these will take time to clear.

BTC to the MOON in 2019

I recently read a thread where investing in bitcoin is compared to a young tree that takes a few years to start fruiting, this is a very good comparison, I will project it on my investments and hope that everything works out.

I hope this will be useful for those who still store bitcoins on the exchange, you should think about security and hold your coins on hardware wallets.
It gonna be sure that it works if you are also consistent with your plan/goal and make decisions correctly. I didn't say it was easy but if you really have the motivation to do it and take your friend's advice, everything went so well. Keeping our coins safe should also be one of our priorities and make sure that it was out of the site of other people as this could lead to their interest. We have to keep silent as possible and never mention to any person that we are holding or investing huge amounts of crypto assets for security reasons.

Which of your friends and relatives deals with bitcoin?
In my family, I was the first to know and know about Bitcoin. Then after a few months, when I told him about this, my younger siblings and cousins got interested and finally decided to get involved in the crypto world. However, in 2018, they stopped due to the severity of the market. So they don't want to continue until now. Too risky he said. moreover, when we have a desire but do not accompany it with an adequate learning process, then this will also not work, no matter how big the desire is. Investing in Bitcoin is not as easy as I think. I thought at first that I could be as easy as someone who I knew at first from Bitcoin, as successful as them \. But in fact, there is no easy ways here. All requires risks and I must take the risks to be involved.

If the problem of Bitcoin many of my relatives already know about Bitcoin but they do not know how to use Bitcoin and only know its value is very fantastic, but I want to explore Bitcoin since I first heard about the crypto world and I am interested and until now have invested in Bitcoin and other altcoins that do have potential, And there are some of my relatives who are currently following in my footsteps and whatever I know about Bitcoin I will tell them, and right now they are starting to be interested in investing in Bitcoin.
It is true that people who are not even in the crypto market end up being interested in the price or at least follow up what's going on and that matters. Because even if they do not own any, they at least know the price and if it is going up or down.

Like my father has never owned a single cent of bitcoin ever in his life, but he follows it and knows what the price is all about. That allows us to actually talk about it, and he can talk about it with others. This spreads the knowledge of bitcoin and even the interest for it as well, people who never owned any could speak about it and could put some seeds in the minds of others who never owned any as well.

I only knew about bitcoin but I don't understand how it works,I did every research and learnt on my own but I couldn't purchase bitcoin because I don't understand it yet. A friend introduced me to this forum, and this is where I got most of the knowledge I have on bitcoin. It is in the forum I knew a good wallet to safe your coins which is an open source wallet. Presently, I teach people around me that are interested to learn and adopt bitcoin. I have taught a lot of my friends but only my younger brother was very much interested in it. He now has a portion of bitcoin in his portfolio.

A little later when I was looking for more information about bitcoin and accidentally found this forum, by the way my uncle and my friend heard about this forum but they are not registered here. And I liked how everything is arranged here, there is a lot of information here and there is a large cryptocurrency community here. here
It's good to know you came across this forum while making research to know more about Bitcoin, and now that you have got to know about this forum, I will love to ask that whats your next plan to making sure you get your friend and uncle register and start learning and interacting here which is the largest crypto/Bitcoin community on the face of the planet? Because one benefit about this forum is that we have got people 24hrs of the day always willing and ready to offer solution and advise to whatever crypto challenges you may be facing in your crypto career

Now I store my bitcoins only on a hardware wallet and after reading a lot of topics, I realized that this is one of the most reliable ways. So far, my investment is not as big as I would like it to be,
However, I will love to say thou ledger is the most secure place to store your Bitcoin, but that should be for funds you don't intend to use for a long term or large funds, while small funds such as below $100 can be stored in non-custodial wallet such as "electron"
