I think defi is more interesting because many venture capitalists and even wall street have also been playing defi for the past few months. And when there are many institutions or large investment injections into a token, fundamentally it becomes a positive sentiment for future prospects.

Wall street is way more interested in running their penny stocks and bonds, while at the same time taking risky bets on investment banks who are again happily fulfilling them.
The VCs who are putting money into DeFi are not that saintlike as you might think. All these "Deals" are done with money and they are in it for the money too. Once they get their profit back, they will exit and like that have always done with the ICO markets, they will do the same here. Once the advisors leave, the devs will start leaving too and the investors will be left hanging high and dry while the project gets abandoned.
