All fields require both knowledge and experience. but without knowledge you will never do anything and if you start something and use it for a long time, experience is automatically gained. But first of all, knowledge is needed.  Without knowledge you cannot do anything. but without experience you can start a thing but not complete it successfully. experience cannot be gained without knowledge. but it is possible to gain knowledge without experience. So according to me both are needed but knowledge is needed first

Knowledge and Experience are two same concepts with the aspect of congruence but people think that these are different from each other. here in this thread, we were talking about the circumstance of the Cryptocurrency-Market. Here which one is more important (Knowledge and Experience)? So personally I emphasize experience in this current scenario because experience is in the name of many collectible things like awareness, educated, success & failure in the past of practical life, which all things come in one word called "Experience".On the other hand, Knowledge is just information and ideas which are acquired through experience or education. So therefore the perspective of investor or trader experience is very important for a person to run the business properly. Only relay on Knowledge is not so fair for investors or traders to become successful. To become a fortunate trader we have to get knowledge through experience & practical work on it (Technical analysis, Fundamental Analysis) to get better results.

Your analysis really gives me a different perspective on experience and knowledge.

I think both are necessary, and we must use them flexibly for maximum effect. As far as you think, experience is the most important and knowledge can be gained through experience. This is also true, but for beginners, if there is no knowledge, it is very difficult to start practicing immediately, although long practice will help gain knowledge. But if we have prior knowledge, it will be much easier to put into practice, and avoiding mistakes will be significantly less than starting without knowledge.
But there is a distinct difference between the knowledge we can buy from others, but the experience cannot, and we need to trade time, effort, and money to get it.

Experience is the best teacher in life, when an experience person teaches you, or learn from him, you will more advance than the person learn from knowledgeable person, experienced person can give you some inside knowledge what he has archived through experience. and an experience person is the root of a business where both runs business together. But when we come investment a newbies will have knowledge to start investing in Cryptocurrency, so that it's will be easier for them to practice to gain experience than someone who has no knowledge but has entered practice.

I still remember very well, the person who first introduced me to Bitcoin was my friend, he had known and had experience in Bitcoin for several years at that time (before me), I asked him a lot and fortunately, he always gave me information good and proper and proven that his experience has taught him a lot, then slowly I started to find out about the knowledge (ins and outs) of bitcoin - blockchain technology - cryptocurrency. learning from experienced people is luck imo it's like a new player using an elevator that goes straight to the top, not climbing the stairs slowly.

When you learn from an experienced person, you sure learn something that a knowledgeable person can not teach you. As I mentioned, experienced person can give you some inside knowledge what he has archived through experience. You do not go at the top with an escalator, but sure the process of learning becomes less difficult. That person can teach you shortcuts which will help you learn quickly. And when you apply that on your own, you can see that that is what he has taught you.
But implementing that learned knowledge is up to you.

So in conclusion, if you are new and want to learn something about Bitcoin, ask the guy who has a lot of experience. Then it becomes knowledge to yourself. Then applying that knowledge and going through some trials and errors, you can gain the same experience. It is important to learn them both in my opinion. But you need to follow the path of what to do when. That way, I am sure success is guaranteed.

Let me know your thoughts. Or share some of your own experience.

Experience is always the best teacher. That doesn't mean that knowledge is not require or neccessary. Someone who has experience is far better than knowledge because experience is series of hard work and multiple mistakes. Experience is practically achieved and knowledge is mostly theorical.
In bitcoin investment, i d' rather go to someone with much experience because he has made a mistake before and learnt from them.
Experience is the combination of theoritical and practical learning, so both are required.

Knowledge is theory, but without knowledge, you cannot start, you cannot trade or invest. It can be said that knowledge is an extremely important foundation for any newbie, and experienced people are very knowledgeable. To be successful in any field, we need both and we must combine them flexibly to achieve the desired results. To be honest, I have never seen a successful investor or make a lot of money saying they have no knowledge, or no experience. Both are necessary and sufficient conditions for a person to be successful.
One with high experience has probably earned a lot of knowledge in the first place. So both of them, knowledge and experience are of high necessity particular if you aim for its best outcome. Though there could be highly knowledgeable individuals but with less experience, but you won’t hear highly experienced but are less knowledgeable. However, since we are talking about bitcoin learning, I would say both should be present, acquisition of knowledge first that would lead to more productive experiences.

Not only with bitcoin but any field, I think requires knowledge and experience. Both are important factors in determining the capacity of a person. The two will complement each other because sometimes, what we learn from knowledge will be a little different when applied in practice, so both need to be used flexibly to achieve the best effect.

As a newbie, I also think knowledge is the first thing they need because once they have basic knowledge, it will be easier to practice to gain experience than someone who has no knowledge but has entered practice.

I think that experience is the most important, because knowledge is created by experience, so experience is the parent of knowledge and experience that makes us learn better and also correct mistakes.
although both are very important to have but experience will make us better at what we do and what we want, and experience is something we experience while knowledge is only limited to knowing.
Knowledge is the root word for knowing or just knowing, and means understanding something and can be supported by experience and can be proven by action.

Why do i get the feeling this question almost feels like one of those questions of which one came first the chicken or the egg  Roll Eyes

Anyway, as far as I know and believe, you need experience to acquire knowledge and not the other way round...a reason why people  at a work place doing the same job for several years will be paid more money than the newbies,  because the value  is in the experience which has broadened the knowledge base inturn. It only gets bad after all the years and expected knowledge someone shows no knowledge or expertise in the field then their is a problem and in such a scenario knowledge > experience.

Experience first, knowledge later? This sounds paradoxical to me and is the opposite of what we're doing. Just like when you grow up and start going to school, you need to have knowledge in school before you graduate to gain experience. How will you work when you have no knowledge, let alone gain experience?
In your example: an experienced person is someone who has knowledge and has worked for many years. Not that they only have experience without knowledge, I have not seen anyone with experience without knowledge.

The way that people who has a lot of experience on something is they are the best to explain that certain things , imean they have their own definition which means they understand it deep as they have years of experience unlike those who just learn it online or somewhere which they are just on tip of the ice berg and not known the true meaning, though if ever you have a chance to ask both then why not to see what is better point of view among the two

This is true, people with different experiences have their own definition on things perspective. It's like two different person looking at "6" but on the other side it looks "9" so they define it in different way. For them to know the correct and fact they should research about it if it's really made to be a "6" or "9". Experiences with proper knowledge would be powerful that can change your life. Because experiences itself is not enough for you to have a widen up your opportunities just like in the knowledge, without experience it's just like a piece. You could apply it in Bitcoin learning so these two are important.

Both are very important in life to record success. But knowledge comes first. There are those who will never experience anything related to their business before they started but they have the knowledge of the business and know how to run it. We can learn from the sad experiences of others to avoid getting hit by the same sad occurrences. We do not have to experience it by ourselves before we learn. This is why I said that knowledge is a step ahead of experience. We can also channel this to bitcoin learning.

In order to learn anything, we need the proper knowledge. In any situation, it is so important. And applying that knowledge in different situation and making wins and losses we gain experience.
So in that process, can you only depend on one thing? It is important to gain knowledge to be able to get the best results in any situation. But can you be successful with only knowledge and not without having enough experience?

Let me give you an example. So someone has browsed through the internet. He has gained a lot of knowledge on bitcoin.
And there's this other person who have been on the platform for a long time. He has gained experience based on his own work.

Now you want to learn the best. To whom do you go first? One with knowledge or one with experience?
Me personally, I will choose the one with experience. Because knowledge can be gathered from many sources. But the true meaning of best learning method is found in the one with experience. Because he may know something that the internet won't know. It is the same as reading a book and memorizing it. But you can't be an expert unless you have tried in yourself.

One more example that I want to say, which has happened to myself. I work the same thing others do. But when to teach that to a new guy, if they follow the basic learning knowledge. But when I teach them how to work, I showed them some shortcuts and way of doing things in a much faster and easier way.

So in conclusion, if you are new and want to learn something about Bitcoin, ask the guy who has a lot of experience. Then it becomes knowledge to yourself. Then applying that knowledge and going through some trials and errors, you can gain the same experience. It is important to learn them both in my opinion. It would be both since both knowledge and experience has a big role on our bitcoin learning I would say that I would probably start with a little bit of knowledge like for example i could go here in the forum to browse and learn about a lot of things on bitcoin and that's will give me enough knowledge on how can I execute things on trading and investment etc. Some of newbies would take a lot of times which is mostly the case, taking a lot of time learning and not starting on their journey, Even though you have enough knowledge the real learning will begin when you already experience it. I mean you could say that you learn how to play basketball by just watching a video, but unless you already experience to play it you cant guarantee than you will have a great performance on it. With that I think experience is more important but Both are needed on bitcoin learning to lost.

It would really be having that big role or totally mutual into each other because even if you dont have the knowledge but you do keep on engaging into it then you would really be able to get that knowledge
on which it would really be here starting whether you would really be making yourself that do things which are according into your plans. Bitcoin learning or totally speaking about crypto knowledge isnt something
that you could gained up overnight which it would really be requiring up some ample time before you could really be having a good grasps.

Dont focus on which one is important because you wont really be needing to choose one because even just engaging into a single point because dealing up with other will really be normally be gaining up the both experience and knowledge that you are really that seeking.  Bitcoin learning isnt only limited which this one could be applied in overall crypto space or no matter
or which market you would be tending to touch up.

Experience is the best teacher, but it comes with a price. Learning by information, that's learning from the experiences of other may be safer but has its limitations.
When it comes to crypto, you will need to gather enough information, and then put the knowledge into practice.

Your title makes zero sense op. An experienced investor obviously would have gained a lot of knowledge related to crypto trading. Theoretical knowledge vs practical knowledge makes way more sense here.
I guess that's why they say that never judge a book by its cover. I have said already in the last part that you need both. The title is just a question which has been explained in the post. Theoretical knowledge is still knowledge, but when you have practical knowledge it can not be called experience. Because you can not gain that kind of experience if you only have practically used it once or twice. So when you use your knowledge in the field, and you learn from it to become expert, that is what called experience.
So I don't know where did I do it wrong. You may wanna read the post again.

You will never gain experience if you don't invest right away, but investing is not recommended when you have no knowledge of it and it's best to learn how to invest first. If asked what is more important to learn first between experience and knowledge, then the answer is clearly knowledge because when you start to find out about the basic things needed in investing, then you will definitely get knowledge when conditions are bearish or bullish.

When you try to combine knowledge and experience, then try to use a small investment first because usually we need adjustments and at least avoid the risk of loss when you first start. Once experience and knowledge have been acquired, you can decide to invest whatever amount you are prepared to do.

An investor with more practical knowledge is more reliable when compared to an investor with more theoretical knowledge for obvious reasons. This logic applies to literally everything.

Honestly, luck is way more important in crypto trading, mining etc.

Perhaps many people will disagree on this, but I find it absolutely true. Sometimes you have all the knowledge and experience, but you won't make any money if you are not lucky enough. But that said, we don't need knowledge or experience, because it will help us limit losses and avoid pitfalls in the market.
