If a mod could whitelist me, that would be great... I don't think you saw my first post.
Hi, I'd like to be whitelisted, I've been lurking at these forums for about three weeks, mining on slush's pool for a while with my HD 6870 (300 MH/s) and mining a bit of solidcoin as well.  Thanks.

I have bought Bitcoins on Trade Hill and used to make purchases. I actually planning on doing trades here. Likely my future traders will want me to leave feedback for them...please whitelist me...

Hi, I'd like to get involved with the community.  I'm not very interested in mining, which seems to be a lot of the discussion in the newbie section.  I've responded to a few topics, but I'm pretty sure I can be more constructive in the other forums.  In particular, I'd like to get involved with merchant services.  Cheers!

I want to post the the FPGA miners thread, so that I can buy one of the Xylinx prototypes. Please help me out with that, if you would be so kind?

You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum.

I have both. I've spent the last few weeks entrenched in the low-level Bitcoin development stuff (reading the source code, reading others' source code, the wiki, the forums, yadda yadda yadda). I've also got a post that I really feel belongs in either the Mining > Pools section or the Development & Technical Discussion section, rather than cluttering up this Newbies section. The original post is linked below:

Thanks!

Hey Everyone,

Would like to be whitelisted  Cool.

My request stems from 2 places.

I am currently in the process of writing an academic legal article (at a U.S. law school) on the operability of bitcoin within an international legal framework. I would be thrilled to get community input and source assistance on my work  Cheesy.

Secondly I am developing a bitcoin accepting marketplace that will be launching soon and I would love to get testers and community input! The site uses bit-pay.com and will be generally amazing!

In conclusion, get me out of here.

Hi Everyone,

I'm John and I have just set up BitLucky.org.

Hopefully I can be whitelisted so that I can post more about the site in the Gambling section of the forum.

Thanks  Smiley

All you have to do is give me a good reason why you shouldn't be considered a newbie anymore. The standards really aren't that high.

If you click my post history, you'll see the type of replies.

As for being a newbie, 9 months mining with 12x58xx cards and trading and making money on Mt:Gox doesn't count? I was actually really eager to join in on many discussions...

But fuckit. Seriously... good luck with your forum. I'll go elsewhere.

Do any mods/admins even monitor this thread any more?  Huh
Yes, we do, but weekends are busy for most of us.

You have time to reply to threads, but not spend micro seconds clicking 'upgrade user'?

Before I created this account, I never realised that 90% of the active users were jailed in this subforum. I wonder how many people have simply given up contributing to this site due to your over-zealous and quite franky unnecessary silly moderating rules?

For the official forum of an open source project, you sure are making it a closed elitist circle-jerk.

I've clocked up 1 hour and 37 mins now. I doubt I will clock up that much more... though I will check to see if the account has been upgraded over the next couple of days.

Way to destroy a potentially really good community mods.  Huh
I did whitelist users when I replied. It's just that you didn't qualify. All you have to do is give me a good reason why you shouldn't be considered a newbie anymore. The standards really aren't that high.

If you want to send me an example of a reply to a thread you want to reply to, that will help.

We have started accepting Solidcoins (at SultanHost.com website) few days ago and need to inform the SC owner but cannot post (yet?). Would be nice if you update our status.

Thank you.

P.S. The online status somewhat incorrect as I have been checked SC thread hourly and also read other posts but still one full hour online logged.
