Mere looking at it, I don't see anything wrong with gambling at work. We can always gamble anywhere we like but that does not mean that we need to gamble at work especially when we are very busy. We'll need to be very concentrative when we are at work so that we don't work with ignorance or do something that would make us get fired especially when we keep making consistent mistakes. Gambling can be easy to donate work when we don't have so much work to do. And sincere if I was the boss of my own I will try as much as possible to enjoy my self, won't allow boredom kill me in my work place. And they can't assume that there employees don't gamble since no one would say they gamble just to be hired for the job, but in reality, they are actually gambling.
Although we can say that the control is on us employees, but a company has interest to protect, if their people make mistakes in doing their job due to lack of concentration, that will affect the company as a whole, so prevention is always better as the potential problem is already seen.

I have not been involved in gambling for a long time as long as I have been involved in gambling I have spent 5% of my income on gambling. I don't always spend my bets winning. When I slowly built up a large fund by winning bets, I withdrew all funds from my betting platform. We don't risk losing our jobs just because of gambling, and it's simply not worth doing. It would be better for me to lose the opportunity to gamble that day but be able to return to gambling another day than to completely lose the opportunity to continue working and earn income from my office. although gambling at work is still unethical to do, but I'm still sure someone does. Everyone's work situation and time intensity for work are different. I don't know what the rules are in your country but in most countries with low economy, morals and human values are gradually being corrupted by material things like money, the law is also based on money to handle and no one really cares what you are doing in such a society, whether you gamble at work or in public, people who see it don't want to get involved, they also don't look directly at your morality, sometimes it's just normal in their eyes. I used to do it heavily in the last job.I changed for a better job during December and I am with another 8 persons in the same office so I have a lot of difficulties to gamble here,it is almost impossible no matter that I have put a super privacy filter to my phone.At the other job I was alone in the office and I could open any browser I wanted as I was the IT admin and I had full access to every site much different to the other users while in here I am the last guy coming into office so I stay calm and I don't talk much.
I will be honest,this is a much better paying job but I miss the liberty to do anything I liked I used to do in the old job.

Not always the case really, sometimes you can have a job with less responsibility and be paid way more.
It all depends on the amount of value you bring to the company.
So, for example, if you make the company millions of dollars for your direct job, then you will be paid a lot of money for it.
But, on the other hand, if you don't bring as much perceived value to the company, then you won't be paid as much.
It doesn't matter if you have a lot or a little responsibilities, it matter how much perceived value you bring.

Even if you have any access to gambling sites, and if you are responsible, you will not do that thing especially since it is prohibited and included in the rules and regulations of the company. Being an IT administrator, it comes with complex task that's why I don't think you can synchronized it with any unrelated IT works.

I've tried several times but I would say it's just a casual gamble. Before I started working from home I do have a huge circle of friends in our company who shared the same passion for playing MOBA games. Every lunch time we put bets playing with each other. I don't dwell to much when losing since I find it fun and the bet is not something that is significant. I think the impact of gambling while at work depends on the amount of you have put while gambling, but if you'll just do it for fun and a little thrill it doesn't matter if you win or lose. Just to add, we do this during our lunch break, so I don't consider this unethical in terms of my working practices.
