I think a person should fulfil his responsibility instead of getting rid of your job because if you are getting paid for some work then it is your responsibility to complete your work with great care. Back in my job before, I was also not allowed to take the phone inside our working station because of the sensitive information that our network has. The management cannot just let anyone copy them or they might do something inappropriate with it.
Our phones are left in the locker so that we won't have any means to copy anything in the system and if ever it rings in our lockers, the security will tell us. Of course, it's because it might be an emergency.
