I think so. Bitcoin was always supposed to be peer-to peer electronic cash. It was intended as a permissionless network and a fast, low-fee payment system. This is what made it famous and allows it to become a multibillion dollar asset.

I think the government are the ones that can destroy bitcoin if they want to do but I know its going to be hard for them to do it so instead of destroying it they will play with it.

Not counting something catastrophic like vulnerability in the platform, longer term there's the competition from other coins. As the saying goes, 'nothing is forever.' It's safe for the time being however.

I suppose the media have a very important influence on everything. If enough people get scared, especially those who hold the majority of bitcoin could destroy it for a short while by selling everything (in combination with the media scare). But I do not know if it will ever really disappeaer even if it fell back to 3 cents, I think people who see the cheap price and just buy again with excitementand the whole craze would start all over again. One just has top hope that governments won't ban altcoins!

Everything here is possible so no wonder if it'll happen but of course no one want that.
But as long as the users have demand on the market bitcoin will continue to dominate.

The one and the only reason that Bitcoin be destroyed is us. We who will abused the used of bitcoin and be involved in illegal activities. We who invest on it our time and effort eventually end as we looking for a better one. We who gonna go old and new generation will made a new one. It can only happen if all country governments total ban on BTC transactions and it is not possible as many countries already approve it as a legal currency in their country specifically Japan. Another reason is that people giving full support to BTC to rise.
