However in my understanding asides from knowing how to read and write, which describes someone educated, i think an educated person can also be described as someone that can set defenses around themselves against the world, most of us here come from or lives in areas that's insecured. Therefore based on their intelligence they should be able to strategize how to protect themselves and keep themselves from getting into danger, an illiterate might be physically strong but might lack the basic understanding of how to survive, but it takes someone educated to study their surroundings and figure out how to safeguard themselves from being harmed. The insecurity in our country is getting out of hand, and in this new year we all need to be very strategic on how to survive. Everyone needs to be on guard, cause that's part of what makes us educat
You were correct to an extent but you started deviating when you said Oxford dictionary state that an educated person is someone that have been to school which is not 70% correct or true because not everyone that went to school is educated, most people went to school for fun, to catch Cruz, some went to school to study only their book while some went to study both their book, character and many more. So going to school or being educated is relative. I want you to also know that being educated is different from having wisdom because and understanding, you can be educated and yet don't have wisdom. Education only, can not help you defend yourself or prevent you from getting into danger but application of wisdom and understanding will help you more because wisdom and understanding are the principal thing needed in life to do anything. I have seen a situation where someone that called himself and educated person can not approach human and issues that an average person can. In summary being educated is not enough to safeguard, prevent or defend oneself from danger and to survive in this country you need wisdom and understanding.
