Spiritual ability wey you dey talk na matter of choice. And no be all educated person get spiritual knowledge. But yet them still dey smart. But being spiritually smart is an advantage to you.

Then the physical way to protect yourself, we get two types of physical protection 1. Na physical strength with natural energy 2. Physical strength with wisdom to manover something to your favour. And na this number 2 Naim be the one wey dey more important. But the number 1. I think no be every educated person wey get that physical strength.

 And na so eh suppose be, as person wey get formal or informal education you get more advantage on how to secure yourself in times of trouble, you get the ability to think fast and use every possible means be it spiritual, psychological, or even physical way to protect yourself from harm , if most of our forefathers wey no too get better education fit protect themselves, then why person wey done get proper education no go fit do same? Being educated alone mean say you get more information and na wetin make the person unique.

An educated person is a person that possess the characteristics of readability, wisdom in application and also versatile to learning new things and adapt to any new environment without the mindset of formal educational qualifications.

Sometimes people feel that when they call you an dedicated person, that they are talking about your certificate. But education is more than certificate. So many people have certificate but don't have wisdom and knowledge or understanding to handle crucial issue in a matured way, rather speaking grammar over an issue that just need a wisdom applied. Our people say to know book and to get wisdom na two different thing. But an educated person must have the two to be complete otherwise you are just like an empty vessel.

An educated person for me na person wey dun receive both school education and life (street) education.


An educated person no dey for only book but you can be educated and still not been able to protect yourself in your environment. Been security conscious no be been educated. We get plenty people for community wey dey security conscious but dem no dey educated. Education dey more about make you know how to read and write and fit communicate effectively to the other person to understand then we go come get other forms of education but the main thing na the one I talk so.

There is a thin line between education and learning, education has to do with the ability or the process of learning, thereby going to school to learn the basic academic necessities, and there are two types of education, education can be formal and it can also be informal, formal education has to do with the process of going to a school from the primary stage to the tertiary institution and informal education has to do with the process of learning a skill that can at the end of the day provide you with their ability to deliver on a job.
However formal education helps to build your cognitive reasoning and also helps you to build your mental capacity to decipher on solutions and thoughtfulness.

An educated person is someone who has gained knowledge and skills through formal or informal learning.  Yes both the literate and illiterate knows ours country isn't very secured, but the literate has more chances of survival than the illiterate, now let me ask you a question people that can read and write and people that can't who have more chances of survival in the forum? So that's to tell you that majority of educated people have more chances of making earns need than the uneducated. I didn't say that an educated person is not affected they have more chances of survival just like you and I.

 You also asked about navigation to safer regions during insecurity, now between both who do you think would navigate better, an educated man can easily browse on his phone and find areas that he could easily Navigate to but then how would an uneducated do that when they can't read and write nor even know how to operate modern facilities properly? This comes to my conclusion on who have more chances of survival between both parties.

Op don forget say before the high level of educational qualifications and their acquisitions our fathers in the past sabi exactly how to protect themselves and protect their families against intruders, same is still obtainable today. I believe real education only exposes you to the fences of the world outside you. Meaning you can see the world through another person's eyes. Learning how to read, write and be reasonable for yourself then gives you an edge of grabbing opportunity. Education is important, evident in adult schooling.

Op education has nothing to do with security. Even animals knows when they are in danger and run for safety. Nigerian insecurity is affecting everyone and I don't see how the educated is being exempted from the effect of the security challenges. Both the educated and uneducated know that insecurity is a challenge to everyone. Without money both the educated and uneducated can't do anything. Are you telling me that the educated are not affected by Nigeria security challenges?
The uneducated and educated knows that when there is I security in a particular region, the best thing to do is to vacate such an area to a more safer environment till normalcy and calm returns to the place. I like your definition of an educated person and I want to also add that an educated person is someone that can be able to proffer solution to the society in times of complex situation that no one else could give solutions to a problem facing the people and also have the ability to relate with people in a more understandable manner and also have the ability to give out information that can help individuals in the environment. Educated person isn't really only people with degrees but people that have the intellectual ability and capacity to manage ideas and opinions of others and bring forth more comprehensive ideas.

Its very clear to identify who is an educated person from one who is not. Its not written on the face of anyone, you can see a tattered man on the streets but well knowledgeable and smart enough than someone who holds a degree.

We can see an educated person from two aspects, getting a degree acquired from the university, Mentally educated gotten from mere conversations and inquisitiveness to learn from friends, families and colleagues or maybe the internet. its all in a different grade but being mentally educated is the best in this country.

Most degree educated persons do not stand a chance against some people who never even finished secondary school, compared from the listening skills, reading skills, writing skills, speaking skills and understanding skills. it will be best if combining both to be outstanding rather than just being educated with holding a degree alone.

So an educated person is someone with the capability to interact without any speech interruption from the pronunciation of words or misuse of words when speaking or writing, how to mange a conversation to yielding a good result, ability to write and answers questions in ones field or even outside the box.

Op I agree with you because education is not all about going to school, is about wetin you learn?  That's what all about, you go school but you don't know wetin carry you go or can't even defend yourself by saying this is what I learn that a very huge mistake of you going to school.
 By the way reading and writing are the most important things which has to be taken care of, for example can you imagine a university student asking his colleague for answer, he was given the answer but he asked that same person to help he/she to spell what a disgrace.

I have heard the term "educated Illiterate" before used in the description of some people, it is because these people went to school but are not behaving educated.

The beauty of literacy is that You must not know everything to be described as educated, having access to qualitative information validates your literacy at all times.
Even in the case of insecurity, if you're well informed,  you can avoid certain behaviors that can put you in the ways of harm, avoid certain routes that are dead zones and play safe to be able to mark yourself safe from uncertainties befalling our dear country.

 Well according to the advanced learners dictionary, it describes an educated person as someone who has a very high standard of learning, while the Oxford dictionary states  that an educated person is someone that have been to a school, be it primary, secondary or tertiary, we all know that education plays an important role in the forum, cause one ought to know how to read and write properly to be able to participate in the activities going on here.

 However in my understanding asides from knowing how to read and write, which describes someone educated, i think an educated person can also be described as someone that can set defenses around themselves against the world, most of us here come from or lives in areas that's insecured. Therefore based on their intelligence they should be able to strategize how to protect themselves and keep themselves from getting into danger, an illiterate might be physically strong  but might lack the basic understanding of how to survive, but it takes someone educated to study their surroundings and figure out how to safeguard themselves from being harmed. The insecurity in our country is getting out of hand, and in this new year we all need to be very strategic on how to survive. Everyone needs to be on guard, cause that's part of what makes us educated.
